But, how do you get from Disney (specifically AKL) to SeaWorld if you're staying on property? Do you have to rent a cab? And if so, about how much is that going to run? I used to love going to SeaWorld as a kid (we always made it a part of our Disney trips) but this is the first time going as an adult, and the first time staying on property ever....so I'm pretty clueless.:confused3

:thumbsup2 I've been monitering your post to see if anyone would reply.I really donn't know the answer. If it was me,I would take A cab!I'm sure in that dist,It shouldnn't cost more then $8.Each way..

I've never done it,but I've heard that if you take a Disney bus to the Transportation Ticket Center you can get a non-Disney bus that takes you directly to Sea World.Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost certain I've heard it.

I'd like to know too. I posted below the same question. Bumping this up for visibility. I really have no concept of even how far away Sea World is so taking a cab is not something I even considered.

From Animal Kingdom Lodge to Sea World is about 10 miles or so and about a 15 minute drive. It's on the southern side of International Drive,Universal is closer to the northern end of I-Drive.It's very easy to get to Sea World just get on I-4 from the Disney area going east/northbound since I-4 is an east/west highway but through Orlando is more north/south and get off at the Central Florida parkway.

You can either decide to take the disney buses to either MK or DTD.

From MK, take the monorail to the Transportation Centre and from there, just walk down the ramp and to the left around the corner to the Linx bus stop - take bus #50

From DTD, you have to walk up the street (1 -2 minutes) to the right from where they drop you off. Cross the street from the main entrance to the marketplace and the Linx bus stop os only a few feet away. Bus #50

The linx buses run every 20 minutes or so. The cost is $1.75 for adults and $.85 for kids under 18. Exact change is needed.

Depending on when you want to get to seaworld, you'll have to get up quite early to catch the bus.

:goodvibes The easier way to go to Sea World from Disney is to get a cab because if you take bus it will be much slover

A few years ago it was about $35 each way to take a cab. Getting a cab from the Disney hotel was easy. Coming back though, I was not real comfortable with the cab we were in. So this time we are having a car pick us up at POP and drop us at Discovery cove. Then that same night pick us up at SeaWorld and return us to POP. Cost is $70 plus tip. This way I could schedule my pick up time and return time and the driver will be waiting for us only. I considered the Lynx bus thing but I decided that it was simply too much trouble to save a few $. In a previous post, one person said it took 2 hours from the time they left PORS to arrive at SW. That is way too much time!!!!

The Linx bus in no way took 2 hours to get from Disney to Seaworld. When we boarded the Linx bus at the Transportation Centre at 8:01 am we arrived at Seaworld approx 8:45am.

The combined cost (return) to use the linx bus for my family of 4 was less than $12. Compare that to a return trip for a cab or shuttle and it's a no-brainer!

I said the poster stated 2 hours from her hotel. It took you 44 minutes from the TTC. How long from your room to the TTC?

I believe it. The Lynx system is very, very inefficient. (When I considered using it to get to work when my old car died, I calculated it would take two miles of walking to the nearest stop, three buses, two transfers, and 3-4 hours to do what amounted to a 9 mile trip down ONE road from my apartment to the employee parking lot. Yipe!) Orlando's public transit systems are awful.

You may consider calling up Mears and asking what their shuttle rates are. Some local hotels have their own courtesy shuttle, but I doubt the Disney onsite hotels will offer this service to parks other than theirs.

Good luck! =)

I understand that Mears has a bus to Seaworld that picks up and drops off at all hotels in the area, including Disney Hotels.

I've done it twice now - most recently in Oct 2007 - Mears has a shuttle - cost is $16 per adult round-trip (my kids were 3 and under last time so they were free). You can make arrangements as late as the day before. I believe the first bus starts about 1/2 hour before SeaWorld opens. The bottom os the first page here has the rates (although page is labeled #4):

You set a pick-up time with them when you make the reservation - they're fast, convenient and very professional. I'm already planning to use them for my upcoming trip in December. You may have a shared ride doing it this way - both times I did it we had a shared ride on the way there but or own van on the way home.

Hope this helps!

Your welcome! also, the ride only took about 15 minutes from the EPCOT-area resorts, so it's not far away either.
