I was wondering how the boys were going to do watching mama and sisters head off to MK ....

Now he wants to us to do our MK day when he is at Portofino, so they can snack in the lounge and go to the parks

I'm a little hesitant to post this pic....it's quite possible you've already made another change within the last few hours.

That will be a great trip for her....very special for Sophia! The CR holds a dear place in my heart because it was my first Disney resort, too. And if I'm not mistaken...it was 1982! Or maybe 83....dad and I can't remember exactly

I still have my heart set on staying at CR if we make it back again. I wanted to stay at CR for our first trip in 1989, our neighbors and Jason's best friend were going the same time as us Easter Week and staying at CR but I called too late to get a room So we stayed at the Travellodge on 535.

It was so exciting back when you just ran into a character by chance compared to the "staged" meet and greets the have now

When we were at the MK this past January, they had some of the old characters walking around - Clarabelle and the wolf (forget his name). I was so shocked that I didn't even have time to get my camera out before they were gone.

Yes! That was so nice...sure do miss the good ole days days at Disney parks. Everything was so much easier then....and so much more affordable. We paid $79 a ngt plus tax for a GW CR room in '81, the same for a GV at the Poly in March of '82 and $99 plus tax for CR Tower room the week of July 4th in '82. Bay Lake or MK view was a request then - we decided not to make request and were given the MK view.

Mia was 9 the first yr we went so that would have been August of '81, not '82.... Good thing I have a calculator.

Ok...so why does Brian like Universal so much??? This is making me really curious, and also making me NOT want to take Bill there. What if he likes it better than WDW???!!! Then I'm in the same boat as you!

The beds there are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO comfy. The express pass, especially with the kids. Our APs cost us $270 a piece I think. Overall, he enjoys the theming more with movies and cartoon characters/comic books over Princesses. Oh, and the boat to the parks. Convenience, price, location....and pool hopping.

I love it too, I just LOVE my Disney more Plus, IMO US/IoA can be done in 2 days...WDW cannot. But the Universal resorts also have a slight edge on activities. Pool games, kids clubs when it rains...my girls loved the free frozen grapes they bring around at the pool.

Are you kidding me??!! All that??!! The last time Bill and I went to US was in 1998ish.....lonnnnnng ago....when we lived in Orlando. Stephen's all about games and activities so that would be right up his ally. Hmmmmm now you have me thinking....

Between the heat and lines they wanted to go back to Portofino. At least we had the Sugarloaf lounge at GF to cool off and then go swimming. When we stayed at Royal Pacific last summer, we pool hopped to Hard Rock and liked it so much we moved there for the rest of the trip. Overall, Royal Pacific and Hard Rock have more pool games, ping pong, etc. I don't remember Portofino as much except the zero entry beach side was large and uncrowded. And the girls did the hula contest We are really excited to try the club level there!! The Hard rock and Royal Pacific's CL "snacks" are above and beyond any of WDW's. If I could take the Loews hotels and pop them in WDW it would be perfect!!! The downfall, the parking fee.

When CR gets a refurb, I'll be ready to stay there with Sophia...it has kind if become a tradition over the years that my first trip with a little one includes a stay at CR (probably because that was our first resort stay in 1982 - our second was Poly, which became our home resort)... Although my bank account may have other ideas.

Christine, that would be so nice if you can carry on the tradition with Sophia!

Pas, hmmm... Universal in July...leaves room for December (with the girls)...compromise??? Sooo how's that December airfare looking?

The airfare is still kinda high....but there's time

So I never announce my change to GF GV and our 1900 PF Dinner instead of CRT...but that was 2 days ago.......

HRH is a little bummed about Portofino, but it's all about the rides and CL. So she will be fine. And there's SO many activities at WL...best of all DH LOVES THE LODGE!!!
