A rabbi, a priest, and a pastor board the Wonder: we're back!

We're getting really close now!!! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

I canceled Palo dinner.

:goodvibes Dang but thank you. Brunch will be awesome and I'm looking forward to the views. Plus don't we get a free mimosa? party:

We're so close. So not counting today as its today but counting the day we board the ship.......

:ccat: 10 days!!! :ccat:

Does that look right? :confused3 We could say 9 really if we don't count the day we embark because its the day we embark!!! :hyper:

Brunch will be awesome, no doubt about it! popcorn:: I think its one free mimosa per person, you're welcome to mine though, I just get a diet Coke.

I like 9 better :hyper: Now that we're so close I'm shaving off another day since my birthday is on Friday. 8 days until vacation technically starts. Hopefully this week flies by! You're off Friday too right?

You're sweet. :goodvibes Yay for it almost being your birthday! party:

Because we are 9 sleeps away from vacation and 10 from the cruise (thanks Jill!) I thought it would be fun to post a daily itinerary. There are some things that I don’t know exactly like what we’ll do on the ship other than dinner but there are some things, I’m fairly certain of.

Day 1, Saturday: fly SW from SLC to Vegas where we will change planes in Vegas and then onto Fort Lauderdale. We should arrive in Fort Lauderdale just before 5 pm. My girlfriend is going to pick us up, we’ll go to her house, chill, have dinner, maybe stop by the store, and then off to bed.

Day 2 Sunday; if we didn’t go to the store the night before, we’ll go on the way to the port but have a little breakfast at her house unless we’re too excited to eat (which is a total possibility). She lives less about 15 minutes from the Port of Miami. :woohoo: Our PAT time is 11:30 am. I am guessing we’ll arrive, get our bearings, head for food and then the pool. We’ve got a DIS meet at 2:45. I am really so excited for this. Our FB group has been very active and appears to be full of some FUN people.
I am going off old Navigators but from 2014 so I hesitate to count on times to be accurate for certain activities. I’d like to go to the Spa raffle but it will overlap with the meet and I’d much rather do the meet. Not sure if Joshua will visit the Vibe before or after dinner but I am sure we’ll take a gander at it.

The Sail Away party is from 4:15-5:00 pm and I’m thinking we’ll take part, maybe from an upper deck.

Checking out our secret verandah room and unpacking will also take place but its dependent on when our cabin is ready. I cannot wait see to it. :hyper:

The show is at 6:15 and we’re late seating for dinner at 8:00. I am seeing LOTS of character meets right when the early diners go to dinner so we may make advantage of some of those. We are still unsure how we feel about attending the live shows every night. Depending on the weather, we may take advantage of empty pools. This part, we are totally playing by ear.
Dinner is at 8:00 and I am really looking forward to that. Tonight the ice breaker for the Vibe is at 10:00 pm and Joshua will go to that for sure. I have no idea what I will do but I am sure I will keep myself occupied.

Day 3, Monday: at sea. Originally this was me and Pam’s Palo dinner night but they’ve changed it to pirate night. I am okay with that. I am actually excited because my pirate dress fits a little tight and I shouldn’t be too bloated by the second day. :lmao: I’ve got the FB Mixology at either 1:00, 3:00, or 4:00, we’re still waiting to hear. Joshua knows I am going so he’ll be on his own at either the Vibe, the cabin, or maybe the movies with other meet kids. That’d be ideal for me but it’s his choice.
Pirate night. I’m looking forward to dinner, the party, and fireworks. The party is from 9:45-10:30. Are the fireworks during the party or after?

Joshua’s club look like it’s happening until midnight. If he goes there, I’ll check out the bar.

Day 4, Tuesday: Cozumel! I am super duper excited about today. We’re sharing a cab with Beth and her hubby and spending the day at Nachi Cocom. All aboard is 5:45 which should give us plenty of time of play in the water and relax on the beach. I love Mexico and cannot wait for today. After Nachi, I want to do a little shopping in town so I am thinking we’ll leave Nachi by 3:00. That’ll give us a good hour in town and back on this ship by 5:00. I am going to milk every minute of Mexico. I even have pesos for the cab and shopping. Yay us!

Tonight is optional dress up night and of course the show at 6:15. Dinner is ON, show is a maybe.

Day 5, Wednesday: at sea. Pam and I have Palo reservations at 10 am and I cannot explain how stoked I am about this. The views look amazing so I will request a window table. Not sure what Joshua will do and how the Monster’s U movie will play into this but we’ll find out on the first day Navigator what days and times the movie is playing.
Pool, show, dinner, heaven.

Day 6, Thursday: Castaway Cay!!!! Do I even need to express my joy about this? Right now, we’re thinking of the doing the 5K. I think it’d be really fun to do together. The rest of the day will be spent playing on the beach and in the water. We may rent bikes and inner tubes, maybe a watercraft. No clue but whatever we do, it’ll be amazing. CC!!!!
Pool, show, dinner, heaven.

Pack.

Day 7, Friday: go home. Boo! Not sure what our disembarkation plan will be as I have no baseline yet for how things run on the ship but ideally, we’ll eat at the buffet and be to the airport by 11:00 at the lastest. We’ve got a 12:50 flight from Fort Lauderdale, change planes in Denver, and then arrive in SLC just before 7 pm. Our flight times are perfect.

It looks even more exciting to see it all written out like that :) fireworks are near the end of the party, and then a dance party after the fireworks. Lots of fun to be had on Pirate Night pirate:

Oh and of course dont forget about the buffet!

There's a buffet on pirate night? At the party or for dinner? :hyper:

It starts during the party in the Topsiders. There have been delights such as turkey legs, crepes, make your own nachos, and lots of desserts. I thought I had mentioned it before, sorry if I hadn't. They really don't announce it at all but it's there popcorn::

I have some fabulous news. Thanks to Jill, thank you Jill!, I checked on my car rental again and mistakenly put in Miami airport instead of Port of Miami and it was $110 less to pick it up at the airport. I then checked to see how much it would cost to get to the airport and a taxi would be $24 plus tip. Not bad not bad at all, but then I thought, SAS is only $15 plus tip and they'd drive me 45 minutes in the right direction and I wouldn't have to navigate Miami. The car from FLL was the same price, $110 less than what I originally booked. So I changed my rental all around and emailed SAS about a pick up post cruise. I am beyond pleased.

What? How in the heck are we going to eat all that right after dinner? :rotfl2: It sounds awesome though. I'm going to have to order like one thing for dinner. I love crepes. :lovestruc

:cool1:  That's great news! Wow, not only a financial savings but a huge logistical savings and not having to navigate Miami on your own. :thumbsup2 I am so happy for you. Love it when it all falls into place.

Totally. :goodvibes pixiedust: I'll tell you one thing I am really looking forward to, checking OUT! Michael will be with the girls and dogs so there is no reason for them to need me. I'll miss them of course and I'd love to chat with them but work won't be able to contact me and that makes me hap hap happy. I swear, unless I am out of the country, it never fails that every single time I take a day off, someone texts me about work. I know my fill in is just trying to do a good job and I don't fault her that but sometimes it gets old answering the same questions every time I have a day off. The phone is going on airplane mode, right after I share a photo or 10 but as soon as the muster drill begins, I am considering us on vacation! :cloud9: I hope I don't go into withdrawals. :lmao:

That's EXACTLY why I love cruises or going overseas. I've spent the last 10 years working in Operations in 24x7 roles (up until the last year) and my phone rings constantly with work. I also was conditioned to check email all the time. I've taken calls in Epcot. It's sad. I love being forced to check out and just RELAX. That's a big reason I take vacations...it's the only down time I get. I don't have a family (I mean, husband/kids...I wasn't raised by wolves..maybe I was..that would explain a lot..:rotfl:) but work drives me crazy!

I have a husband, kids, was raised by wolves, and work drives me crazy too. I think it's designed to do that. LOL! Technology is great on some fronts but it greatly inhibits the ability to truly check out. I'm not going anywhere near an Internet package on board or a Starbucks in Cozumel. :thumbsup2

I checked out like this on our last cruise and it was wonderful! However I had my babies with me and everything was perfect. This time I have a feeling I will be knocking people down to get to an internet connection for FaceTime with my little ones. This will be the longest that I have ever left them. My youngest is only 4. I would be lying if I said that I didn't feel nervous about it already.

:goodvibes I've been there and totally understand. When mine were little I felt the same. We left them for a week in 2010 and went to Mexico. No FaceTime then if I recall and texting was $$$. I think we text once a night, really long texts. Your trip will be wonderful and they'll miss you but they'll also have fun. Baby steps. I Facetimed with mine nightly when Michael and I were in Mexico last month.

I love checking out from life, but we get the internet package on cruises so I can keep up with you guys! I miss my DIS friends. Especially when Fran is taking her naps. I can't really leave the room, although I did head to Stormalong Bay last trip for an hour.

I've taken calls at AK, Epcot and I've even located and hired a leak/damage restoration company from the comfort of my Villa. As long as we have tenants, I'm on call.

:goodvibes I love your live reports. We all look forward to them. :thumbsup2 I always think of funny things to tell you guys when we're away too. I can totally see why the Internet package works for you. If Joshua was a baby and would nap, it would make sense for me. Or if M and I were cruising and leaving the kids at home.

You are on 24/7 and thankfully as I'm sure your tenants appreciate that. I've also answered and returned calls. It's easier when M isn't around because he totally dislikes cell phones on vacation. The kids flip when their phones die at Disney and he loves it.

I love it that on cruises we totally have to disconnect from real life but that I can still have the DIS, that doesn't feel like real life, it's like my friends. :flower3:

I usually designate a point person for cruises and then give them the on ship phone number. Tenants call the point person if there is a problem while we're gone and we give them a letter to explain that we will be out of contact for the week or so.

This next cruise will be different since we have 5 days on land after our cruise in November, but not too different, since we will be on a cruise! When we come back tenants can call us if they have a problem.

Yay, I'm glad you saved so much money!!! What a lucky mistake. :)

All thanks to you, thank you! :worship:

I seriously was done checking because it never went down. When you mentioned on your PTR yours had gone down again I figured one more time cant hurt.
