Any drink updates?
cwt580 and SoundDude... thanks for giving me the male side of things. The only problem now is that it seems all the guys who like strong women already have one!![]()
I have a gentleman that is looking for a strong woman....& he is a catch, to bad he is here in the North East.![]()
And just to get this thread back on something like a dining questionrotfl:
)... What can I drink instead of cider that isn't beer but doesn't make me look like a lame girly-girl down at the pub?
Would he mind a highly educated woman who's also six feet tall? If so... 'my friend' may have to take a professorship in the North East after 'her' PhD.![]()

Mimsie, do you like martinis at all?
Single malt scotch?
Port?
Champagne cocktail?
Pimms and Lemonade?
Shandy (beer mixed with bubbly lemonade)?
AKL has a quiet little lounge that overlooks Boma. They serve drinks, and a few snack items.
I love a good martini (as well as most of the hard liquors, don't tell my mother) and of late I've been drinking some good German Reisling, but it sucks a bit because everybody else gets to have their nice pint to sip on, and pay less for (the nerve of some people
), while I've got my wine and/or vodka tonic. I suppose it's the price I pay for being so much cooler than them.

Is there a seasonal restriction on Pimms? Do I have to be in Cambridge or Oxford watching The Boat Race?Otherwise that sounds very feasible. The Shandy just intrigues me, does lemonade make beer less gross?

MadamMim,
If I were to accompany your "friend" to a cocktail establishment, any of the "&" drinks would probably rank just as - uh - "not girlie-girl" as a beer. So your preference of Scotch&Soda, C&C, 7&7, Whisky&Coke, Rum&Coke, etc.
But you would know better how those translate to an English Pub.
