I am looking for a book that would show me all the different things to do here and maybe a little description of each attraction. Does anyone know if something like that exist??? I'm sure there are a ton of tourist books, but I'd love a recommendation before I set out to the book store.

Also, we are debating between spring break (early April) or June after school is out. Any suggestions as to which would be better time and why?;)

Thanks for the help!!:)

Do you have kids, Wendy? My favorite of all the tour books is "Things to Do in Washington, D.C. with Children". Its a wonderfully informative book, and includes not only the attractions in Washington, but in Virginia and Maryland as well.

Early May is better than June, less crowded, not as hot, but June is still nice. August is really hot, try to avoid that month if you can.

Don't know the books but I would suggest spring break. Everyone is there in June. That and it is humid as all get out during June.

Thanks for the replys. Snoopy, yes, we have two children...DD13 and DS9. I really want to get there while they are still interested in history. I'll be on the look out for your book. I can't wait to read it. This way we can do some planning before we ever arrive and everyone can help in picking out what we see. :D

Thanks again. I really appreciate the help.;)
