I'm doing all the last minute things--we leave Monday--and I was wondering what all of you do about credit card numbers...you know, do you write down the CC# and the toll-free numbers so if you lose a card you can call right away? If you write them down, where do you keep them? These days, you've got to worry about identity theft. Any suggestions/advice would be helpful. It's been years since I've taken a real vacation. I used to leave a copy with my dad at home, but he won't be home while I'm in WDW.

I have never done this but DH does. He writes things down and will leave it with his parents. They have always been home when we have gone so I am not sure what we would do if they were not. Hmmm, tough question. I am looking forward to some helpful answers.

That is a very good question!!! I used to be really good about stuff like that, but have gotten kind of lax about it. Thanks for the reminder!!!

I only bring the "bare necessities" as for as credit cards go. That is a very good idea though to leave information with your Dad. Since he is unavailable during that time, would writing this information down and storing it in your room safe - or the hotel safe, maybe - be an option?

I guess if you were really concerned about someone finding your numbers, you could always mix up a few (eg. the 2nd to last 4 numbers with the last 4 numbers) and put a note on it like"rearrange living room furniture or need to correct papers". I always carry everything in a small change purse, and leave most at home. I bring Drivers lic., Health Card, 1 cc and a debit card, and Health Care proxy, and that's it. I make photo copies of all tickets, flight info, and hotel info, and keep that in my carry-on. I bring the 5 cards plus the room card and safe key to WDW in a string pocketbook(Vera Bradley), so it's hands free, and I don't put it down, and forget it. All other important information (eg. airline tics.) including reciepts and medications stay locked in the room safe. I bring the debit card for when I know I am approaching the room limit ($1000 in mod, $500 in value, $1500 in deluxe.) So that I can still purchase things if I go over the limit, before I have a chance to settle the account.

Hope you have fun, just don't leave the safe key in the safe.
