Several people said that they won't ride The Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror. I'm curious as to why. I understand that that poor girl had a heart attack (I was at wdw when it happened) But that was a freak incident.

So I'm wondering, if you won't ride it, have you ever ridden it before? if not, why won't you try it?

This isn't meant to flame. I'm just curious.

Its my favorite ride.

I actually HAVE ridden it twice. But I just have this thing about haunted rides. My imagination goes haywire and I start imagining things happening and to me it seems real. I don't like the haunted mansion either.

its. uh...its big. and..scary looking. >> and the screams of terror you can hear dont comfort you.

....okay yeah people scream like babies on the haunted mansion. but that makes me grin.

ive actually thought about how completely ridiculous it is to be afraid of a "big, bad, ride" so....even if i will be dragged on while nearly begging like an idiot not to go on in the first place, im going to attempt to put on a brave face when i do.

you know? now that you asked that question...i really dont know why i wont go on it. or.i really dont know a good excuse.

my motto-people only scream on a good ride. I mean. You may hear cries for help coming off its a small world, but for real "ohmigodimadie" screams, go to TOT. I don't even scream on it. I laugh. I actually ride it for teh pictures sometimes. I'll pretend to be asleep or make an exagerated scared face or read a book. I've seen a couple people buy the picture, that tehy weren't even in, because they were laughing at me. :teeth:

really i haven't been on the ride because i just hate rides which drop you... is that a good enough excuse?

That's brilliant! Heheheh, I would have bought that picture too! I might have to think of some clever things too!

i just want to try to ride about every ride there in WDW.. except Rocknrollercoaster and Misssion Space b/c ppl died on it....

i have ridden (sp) TOT and HATED HATED HATED it.... i don't really know why. i didn't like the feeling in your stomach when you fell down faster than gravity could pull you. I don't mind rollercoasters though.... idk why.

here is what i like though: i went on TOT, brave enough to go on.... just not more than once

on space mountain in DL i found out where they take the picture (at the end where you suddenly stop) i made poses everytime we went on it.... oh good times good times....

I went on ToT once last trip. I was forced on there and hated it. I loves the atmosphere, but it's the ride that scared me. I can't stand drops. That's the only thing I don't like about roller coasters, and ToT is just the drop. I don't like the rush.

It messes up my stomach!I only get sick on it!MS is a breese compaired to ToT!I never throw up,but my insides are definetly scrambled!I still ride it with my mom(her favorite) after she takes me on a long guilt trip.LOL!

i've been on it. i thought 'this looks like an okay ride'
everything was perfect until the drop. & it's basically the first drop that bothers me the most. it's the biggest, the longest & the scariest. after that it's just me holding on too everything, trying to tighten my seatbelt..

I HATE DROPS.
end of story. i don't really like those kind of rides where you drop. & maybe it's the thing that it's in the dark, and it doesn't let my feet dangle. if it was outdoors, with those feet danglers, i would probably do it again. but inside nope, never again.

I hate freefall rides. I hate falling in general. To put it into better perspective, I won't ride Splash Mountain because of the drop. I also hate going up in my seat. I highly doubt I will like a ride where you do nothing but fall, and get pulled down faster than gravity so your forced to go up in your seat.

I want to thank everyone for answering.
I probably sound crazy, but I love the feeling of falling, thats probably why this is my favorite ride.

you know, if you like the atmosphere, you can walk through, but get off right before the ride. There is an elevator all teh way over to the left in the boiler room. (thats what my mom did)

Several people said "I was forced on" your family made you ride something you didn't want to? I got my mom to walk through it with the promise of an escape elevator at the end.

i absolutely LOVE that ride! we have a even bigger one of those (power tower) at a amusement park in minnesota and i LOVE going on it.

I love ToT, 1. because I love the whole free falling feel, and because 2. I love The Twilight Zone. I'm normally really afraid of heights (like hyper ventalation ohmigodimgonnadie stuff), but I haven't ever not riden a ride because of it. My only thing with any of the rides is at space mountain. I have really long legs and the seats are always rather short, and there's never room for my purse.
My feeling with people dying on rides is it's disney, they have to have the safest rides anywhere, and if dying on the rides was really a threat, they would have medical warnings for heart problems and whatnot (which they do have), so I'm not to worried of ever biting it on any of the rides.

They have only died on those rides b/c they had like a heart condition that they knew about but didn't read the signs or they just didn't know about it. It's not disneys fault for anybody dying on a ride. It's the ppls fault for basicaly not reading the signs.

I LOVE tot and I was scared 2 ride it @ 1st until my mom did n then I tried it. I love the feeling of falling and thrill rides. Just b/c someone died on a ride there doesn't mean I won't ride it.

TOT is one of my all time favorite rides. Sure, you might get a little woozy, but I don't mind it. When you free fall, it gives you a feeling of defience, which I always like. Still, the deaths at Disney are certainly not Disney's fault. It is solely the person's fault.

But I prefer Drop Zone at PKI, much better view, and I don't get nightmares. (Twilight Zone is the scariest show ever!)

preach it.

i heard that the family of the first little boy that died on mission is sueing disney for not having enough warnings. ...did..they seriously not look around or actually LISTEN? they warn you a quadrillion times. and the kid was three years old. no three year old needs to be anywhere near that ride, thankyou.

okay. im off my soap box now. ^^

Not everybody happens to have parents who will just let you stand outside alone. My parents have forced me on several rides, & there's no way out. My parents won't let me stand alone outside waiting, but when everyone wants to go, you have no other choice. It's like truth or dare with my dad. You get three chicken outs. So say I don't get on three rides, then he's going to make me go on one. And i don't dare argue with my father at Disney, he's angered easily, and I just want him to have a good time, there's no point in seeking and argument.

I love the TOT, it's one of my fav rides. I was afraid that I was going to fall off though. Now I can laugh at it. :lmao: :lmao:
