Any insight?

TIA

Janet, each board will set their own dates. The Official March break is March 14-18. Our board did a survey. Did we want to change it to the week later (Mar. 21-25) to include Easter? Apparently, most people didn't want to extend the Easter break, preferring to keep the original week, go back and then have the long weekend.

If you want the Ministry's school calendar templates through 2007, check out this site.

Now I can go ahead and plan without too much interference from school!LOL

DD and I were talking about it last night and the funny thing she said was............

"Do we have to go at Easter Again?........What Am I saying!?!? I still must be sick, I better stay home Monday!"

Thanks Again for the Info!

I would check with your individual boards regarding the dates for March Break. Some boards have reapplied for it to be changed to the next week which would include Easter break. The Toronto board and London board are two that are doing that for sure. I have been told by a source that our board is re-evaluating its original request as well. I know I am not going to book anything until I hear that my board has received final approval from the ministry. The ministry makes the final approval. That is how it worked last year when some boards got the Friday off before the March break.

I will definately hold off until it's on the TDSB Website!

It's bad enough DD was sick last week and part of this week and everybody just assumed we were....................

That's right Folks! WDW! Boy Have I got them trained!LOL

OK.
It's up and some folks aren't gonna be too happy!!!!
Next years March Break is March 18 - March 28. It totals a 10 day break.
BUT......
March 25th is Good Friday and March 28 is Easter Monday!
So for those of you who do March break trips.... its' going into Easter and will be busy!

I am probably one of the minority folks who like this idea as it gives me less time to find child care for my daughter. But she is harder as she is disabled as well!

Sorry if I'm the bearer of bad news.... just passing on the info!

This will be an interesting year for March Break travel. The Thames Valley board (London & area) has posted their calendars for the 2004/2005 year and March Break runs Mar 14-18, back for 4 days, then the Easter weekend. If the Toronto Board and others are backing up their March break to coincide with Easter than should make things a little lighter for travel for those boards following the ministry's suggested break. :happy2: Although, as tigger2on says, TDSB moving March Break into Easter will mean those people travelling to WDW will be doing so at peak holiday time. :headache:

Hi there,

York region has confirmed that March break is as follows:

March Break runs Mar 14-18...And we have booked our DCL::yes::

Counting away the days..how awful to wish a year go by quickly..don't you all think?

Bye for now

:wave2:

Our school board just published a news release:

Christmas Holidays reduced from 10 to nine days Dec 23 to Jan 4.

Additional day used in March-March break from Mar 11 to 18.

Still has to be approved by Ministry.

I saw an article in yesterday's Toronto Star that quoted a trustee saying that maybe they didn't really think the whole changing the March Break thing through. It is going to be put on the agenda for the next board meeting but they weren't sure if they could switch gears and reverse the decision or not. Seems to be a real mess. Many teachers who teach in Toronto do not live in Toronto but come in from the surrounding areas therefore their children are going to have different March breaks. This has been an issue that has caused a lot of debate everywhere but in the board room.
