I have noticed there are several threads to address comon questions, (Sea Lice, Kids clubs age requirements, ect) and I'd like to suggest you add one more.
Dress Code!!! Maybe one thread that stays at the top with an outline of the different dress codes. Formal, Semi-formal, childrens dress codes, Palo,The Spa, the clubs, the shows, ect.
I know there is sometimes heated debate when the subject is brought up, but almost every first time cruiser has questions about what is allowed/expected. I think it would be a great help to those who just need to know the rules.
Thank you for all you do on this wonderful board!

I second this request! I think it would answer so many questions right up front.

EXCELLENT suggestion, RellingTwin! It seems many DISers planning to cruise have not read the dress code portion of the DCL brochure or website. If Michelle would post the "official" word as "Important," it might lessen the repeated heated discussions on this controversial topic. But then, I suppose there would still be the same questions from those who insist that since it is their vacation they will wear what they want, and they will always have their "supporters" on the DIS. Still - I say go for it, Michelle! It would be helpful to those who really <I>do</I> want to know what is recommended.

A "livley" dicussion is always fun to see here. But there are MANY times when a person just needs a little information that is NOT suppiles in the DCL broshure. Also, like most "planners" getting the documents 2-8 weeks prior to your sail date, doesn't leave a lot of time to go out and buy clothes.
Thanks Mcnuss and Taswire for 2nd and 3rd -ing my idea:D
I (speaking for myself only) want to do what is expected when it comes to dress code. On our 1st cruise ( a 4 day) aside from knowing DH needed a jacket for Lumires and Palo and that a pant suite or dress was needed in the dinning rooms at night, I was clueless.
Now..with the 7 day, formal/semi formal, theme nights, Palo brunch, and High tea...just add to the questions.

Thanks for the suggestions, all. :)

We try to limit the "important" threads at the top of the board to information you wouldn't already see in the DCL brochure or that is not readily available elsewhere. If we get too many threads up there they pretty much blend together and no one notices them any more. :)

But hey, if a thread at the top will stop the hot topic dress code debates then I'm all for it. ;)

Let me put something together and we'll stick it for a while and see if that helps. :)

Thanks for doing that Michelle!! I just wanted to follow up on Relling Twin's great idea of including in the thread info specific to children. I realize that what is appropriate for one age group is probbly different for another. For example, I'd absolutely expect a 15 year old boy to be appropriately attired in a tie on formal night, but not necessarily a 18 month old boy. So maybe it could be broken down like this:
Infants (birth-18 months)
Toddlers (18 months-3 years)
Small children (3 years- 6 years)
Middle kids (7 years- 12 years)
Teens
Adults

Although it's a more recent hot topic, I could do without any more threads about poopie diapers in the Mickey pool.

I hear ya Dave. Enough already.

Hey Dave - with the population aging, perhaps we will soon be writing about diapers in the adults-only pool as well!

Hey Dave does that mean that depends are out for us aarp crowd as far as the hot tubs and adult pool??????:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
