A question for anyone who works at Starbucks

Hey Guys, Starbucks Manager here....

The reason for the change was, as a PP said, to make the drinks more custom. Before you could not get a decaf light, now you can. Also they are being made with milk so you can choose soy, %, skim, or whole.

While the concept is good, if the Company had stuck with it's original mantra of "Just say yes" we wouldn't have the issues. We have people come in and request a Soy Frap and we would just tell them that the mix was premade, but we would be happy to make them a frozen soy latte. That way you are giving them what they want but not changing the formula on the original.

The company has changed quite a bit in the last 2 and a half years. Quite a bit. Honestly, it's sad. I know it's sad for some of the customers, but for those of us that are veterans (over 5 years) and remember the pride we had in what we did everyday with our connections and customers, it's even worse. The company did some very nasty things in the "lay offs" a year ago, and it won't ever be the same.

But at any rate, most of my regulars like the change, but I have a few who get 2 or 3 fraps a day that are highly irritated.

It is sad what has happened to S.B. in the last few years, and I am not talking about the drinks.
The same thing is happening here in Louisana with a local coffee company. They are losing their focus on customer service and becoming very drink driven. Long time loyal employees are being cast aside and morale among the "old timers" is very low. : ( .

Thank goodness they haven't changed any formulas on their drinks , but I see that happening soon.

I found a Starbucks in SuperTarget that still had the old mix! :cheer2: So every day I could, I drove 15 miles out of my way to get a Frappuccino. This afternoon when I went in I was told this was the last day of the old mix. They were told they had to dump out what they had left :scared1::scared1::scared1: and make the switch tomorrow. But even the one I got tasted off. So much for my last Frappuccino. I have complained at three starbucks, left a post on their website, and even called to complain. I can make a latte at home, but I cannot make a comparable Frappuccino. It will be strange not going there anymore. :sad1:

That's a shame. I haven't had one in months. I almost stopped in today to buy one. I'm glad I didn't.

What's wrong with the flavor? Not strong enough? Not enough chocolate flavor? :confused3

I never get the mocha frapps. I only drink the coffee ones. But I can tell you that the new ones taste watered down and have a bitter aftertaste. The sweetener also tastes artificial in a way the old ones never did. They are just awful.

I'm honestly surprised the PP is getting good feedback. Are you getting good feedback because of the new choices or do people who always bought a mocha or coffee frapp think the taste is an improvement?

Honestly, I have never been a frap kinda girl. But the people I'm talking to are ok with it. Most of them are long time regulars who have specific drinks during specific times of year. You know, the ones who start asking in July when Pumpkin Spice is coming? :lmao:

But I think for most of mine Frap is an afterthought. We are a store that has been around for 12 years and our regulars get frap as a "treat" from their regular drinks. The couple that I have that frap IS their regular drink are the ones who aren't happy. I have a regular who gets a double venti 4 pump mocha syrup creme 2 to 3 times a day, and I will most likely lose him if I can't find a way to customize to his liking. Even if I do, he's not happy about having to taste all the experiments along the way.

I wouldn't be either!

I haven't been able to drink a Frapp in years...a few sips in and I would get nauseous and suffer from a "sugar high". I always got the smallest size...and always threw over half of it away.

I always thought they were refreshing, but couldn't drink them. Looks like I won't ever have the opportunity to give them another chance :sad2:
