My sister was at WDW the last week of August. She bought a sweatshirt for her daughter at Mouse Gears at Epcot. When she got home & unpacked, she saw they left the security tag on it! She tried to take it off, but it is one of those ink ones, and it stained the sweatshirt. She still has the receit. Do you think they will exchange it for a new one? I will be going there myself in 3 weeks, so I could exchange it in person, or should she call them & find out what to do? TIA!

I'd call the Merchandising dept. first... since it'll be past the return time on it by the time you get there, it might be better to see if they'd accept a return by mail & either replace or refund & then you can pick up a new one for her....

That, or if you have a local Disney store in your mall, see if they can take it off for you. Just keep your receipt handy.

I thought since the Children's Place owns the Disney Store now, you couldn't take Disney World stuff back there. If I could do that, that would be perfect--there is a Disney store in the mall by me.

Do you know the number?

Unfortunately Disney Store won't be able to help, the sensors are completely different and the machine at TDS won't work. We always had people coming in to have us remove tags left on by WDW when I worked at TDS.

If you're going in 3 weeks, it shouldn't be past the return time. Return time is 60 days, I believe, so if she bought it last week in August, you should have until last week in October.

Most likely, if you take it back, they will try to help you out...BUT....just be prepared that they might not exchange it since she did try to remove the sensor herself.

I don't remember the merchandising number offhand, but if you call 407-W-DISNEY, you can ask to be connected to merchandising.

I think the # is 407-363-6200

I was afraid of that. I hate those darn things. Well, if they won't let me exchange it, I won't tell my sister. I'll just buy a new one for her. It's not her fault the clerk forgot to take it off.
