Wow, I can't believe the calling of ALL chiros quacks...I worked for one for over two years, and while I did go in there with no intentions of getting adjusted (just a personal preference thing, since I'm young and fairly athletic with no history of back or any other problems, other than a bum ankle), I learned myself how well they can work...The Thursday before I was leaving for Disney in March of '03 (driving the 5 hrs to my house Friday, then the 11 to Disney Saturday, so all those hours in a car) I went in to work at 8, with no problems. Around 9, my neck started to get so bad I couldn't even move. Then it started HURTING. Finally, a patient insisted I get adjusted, and I hadn't even said anything, it was just obvious. I'm not going to claim it was a miracle immediate healing, because that wouldn't be true, but it did give me enough relief to drive myself home and survive the rest of the day. He barely touched me before knowing what was wrong. Chiropractors do provide relief for many many people, including children, but there are a few bad eggs in chiropractics. I'm a future psychologist and I'm sure that there are plenty of bad eggs in that field too, but I hope I'm never labeled a quack for the mistakes of a few others.
