Hey everybody!

I was just wondering...I'm going to be in apartment with me and 3 other girls who all have lots of clothes. And our only downer of the college program is that we will have to pay to do our laundry..and we won't be able just do it whenever we want to. I saw on craigslist that people are selling washers and dryers that work good for really cheap. I thought I heard at one point that the apartments at WDW have washer and dryer hookups in each apartment. I was wondering if this was true to Patterson? I might of just heard wrong though.

Thank you!

Each of the apartments does have washer and dryer hookups but they are in a separate room locked by Price Management (housing service) so you will not be able to use them. You have to use the laundry facilities they provide for you and pay. Sorry!

True story: My neighbors picked the lock on this door and had a surprise inspection and had stuff in the storage area and got called to a housing meeting.

I lived in Patterson in Fall 08 (first people in my apartment) so the rules may have changed...

We had a closet for the washer/driver hookups and it was unlocked. We never did it but I vaguley rememeber it being an option. I do not know anyone who did use it.

My guess is that PM monitors that because it would affect water usage, which is included in your rent.

Thanks everybody! I guess this is just something to ask when I check in, to really know for sure. I wouldn't do anything if we weren't allowed to.

=)

I lived in Patterson and I never knew about this, lol. Even if you had a washer and dryer it would suck moving it in because there's a good chance you'll be on the second or third floor and there's no elevator!

I just didn't do laundry that often, and it's not hard when you're in costume most of the time you're there. I mean honestly, I didn't do laundry just because I didn't want to, was lazy, or was too cheap (which was all true too, but still!), but because I rarely got to wear my own clothes. A pair of jeans could last 1-2 weeks. Or a whole month if I were really careful, lol!! I only wore them a couple of times a week.

The big issue with laundry is with socks and underwear. I ran out quick and had to go out and buy more. Come down with at least 2 weeks worth of stuff because you're not going to be wanting to do laundry every week.

...of course my mother was horrified when she heard all of this! But it's true, I would almost say you're in costume nearly 75% of the time you're down there (I mean, besides pajamas and depending on how much you go out, of course!)

Thank you! Yeah, I know we aren't going to get a washer/dryer no matter what. My mind was just running a million miles a minute today. =p And those are some good points you made!
