A Question about Dining plan and CRT/HDDR ....

Ok the reason why I put this here is because we are DVC and we have the option as DVC to hold off on putting on the dining plan up till 48 hrs...if you need to move this go ahead.....

SO, we are not going to be adding the DDP to our reservation (sept) till probably july or august. Our 180 day mark is coming up next week. We want to do CRT and HDDR. So therefore I am going to have to pay oop for this meal. We will be Dining w/ 3 adults and 2 children. HOWEVER, in the effort to save some cash I was wondering if I could just make a reservation for 1 adult and 4 children? Would that mess anything up? I still am technically reserving a table for 5.

Also if I was to do this...do they apply the payment already made to CRT and HDDR towards the dining plan or do I get a credit later down the line?

The problem may come in when you try to convert from cash to the DDP. I don't know for sure, but if you have "paid" for 5, but 4 are children, I think it would be difficult to convert the reservation to DDP prior to arriving. I have heard you can do this.

I have also heard that you will reimbursed at the time of the reservation. Again, to show up with a different group than registered, it could be an issue.

As much as it saves money to do it this way, I don't think I would chance it.
