A question about Cove Cafe

OMG the Cove Cafe was my favorite place to start and end each day. We had the kids with us and they were too young for the kids club so DH and I would take turns in the morning going for coffee (usually it was me because I'm up at the crack of dawn while he needs a bulldozer to wake him). At night my mom (connecting room babysitter) would watch them while they slept and DH and I would catch up with our friends every evening over a coffee drink, glass of wine, or martini. We aren't "club" crowd but enjoy a cocktail while on vacation so it was the perfect spot for us - no loud music, craziness going on, while being able to enjoy great company (wait staff included)!!

I can't wait to see the equivelant of the Cove Cafe on the Dream (May 2011 baby!!)

Yes, I believe they call it coffee Americana. Much better than the free coffee.

Coffee Americana is a very strong coffee . It is espresso coffee and hot water.( my husbands favorite.):thumbsup2. And he drinks it black, so he can tell a good cup ( or so he tells me!)

I never knew the food at Cove Cafe was no charge...guess where I will be heading a lot on this upcoming cruise! Thanks for that info. I agree the coffee is better than the coffee at the 24 hour beverage station, but I use it as a splurge for myself, not an everyday thing.

I think I'm going to have to score one of those re-usable Cafe Cove mugs. ;) We love our coffee here in in WA, can't wait to try it out next March.

Try the white chocolate truffles in there. Quite possibly the most amazing thing I've ever put in my mouth :)

The Magic DID have a chai latte on the wall menu on the Baltic cruise a couple of weeks ago.

They have a full bar as well, both inside the Cove and the attached Signals bar.

In the evening they served cheese, crackers, olives, sundried tomatoes and meat, not baked goods. (That may have been what they got from their European suppliers)

I think I would prefer that!

Don't forget about the buy 5 get one free card they have. Which is good even on a future cruise if you have some left on it.

I got my card with one on it in May. I put the card in my passport case so I will have it the next time I go. It may take till November next to fill it, but that;sa OK, too!

in the evenings there is often cheese and crackers in the Cove Cafe...even on the Caribbean sailings...not just European cruises. All the selections change throughout the day and vary from day to day, cruise to cruise.

I'm not a coffee/tea drinker, but would like to know if they offer specialty hot chocolate at the Cove too?

I believe they do....but you can also get regular hot cocoa from the drink station 24/7.

Does anyone have a pictue of the refillable mug?

I'd like to know too. I didn't see this on our last cruise in March and was looking for one, but I also failed to ask.

That's good to know. I've been carrying our partially completed card with me since our last cruise hoping to use the it on our upcoming cruise. At least I know we can use it!

I cant believe that after 7 cruises we have never made it to the Cove Cafe! Roll on August. LOL

If that is the 28th August then we will see you there every evening, even after Palos. But remember leave some of the garlic and chive cream cheese and biscuits for us. See you in there Lorraine.

Andrea :cheer2:

I'm interested in finding out more about the refillable mug as well. I was going to get one on our last cruise but it was only four nights; I'd like to get one on the PC cruise. Is it like the beer mug where they give you a fresh one or do you have to wash it?

Due to health concerns, there are no refillable mugs at the drink station. You may bring one, but you MUST use the disposable cups to refill it.
