A PTR for a trip in 6 weeks? It can be done! 31 hours to go!!!

Thanks, the advice does help! :goodvibes

We got our DME for my mom yesterday. It is for Pop Century and not SSR. They said they will send new tags. We are still up in the air about the rental, so I want to have a back up in case we need to take DME.

So the bad news keeps coming! LOL!

Andy was punched in the eye at work by a patient. This happens occasionally, but he has never had a black eye. He was pretty upset, but he knows in can happen in his line of work.

I hope this is the end of the bad luck. Only a few more weeks and we will be on vacation, and by then we will need it!!!

Glad I could help :goodvibes Let me know if you have any other questions :)

Ugh, so sorry about Andy getting punched in the eye :scared1: I hope it's healing quickly

Yay, :woohoo: for the good news about your costumes. Can't wait to see the pics. popcorn::

So I went to Target (twice!) and the Disney Store today. I bought

Target:

Tums travel for DH
2 Almay travel makeup remover wipes
4 shirts and 2 shorts for the boys
take and toss sippy cups
regular sippy cups (needed)
baby wash
wipes

Disney Store:

Jack Skellington tee for DH
Mad Mickey tee for DH
Eeyore tee for me
Tinkerbell tee for me
Aristocats tee for DD
Hannah Montana tee for DD
matching Mickey tees for Ds's

My only concern is that I bought L tees for me instead of XL like I wanted, as they were out of that size. The shirts fit, but I am afraid of shrinkage, as they are 100% cotton. I would not be so concerned, except I am quite top heavy and I try not to bring MORE attention to that, and I would do that if the shirts shrink too much. They have the XL's online, but IDK if I want to pay shipping.

Anyone know how bad the shirts shrink?

To avoid shrinking you can hang the shirts to dry. That's what I always do with shirts I don't want to shrink. :goodvibes

 shopping...I have to do some of that this weekend at Target and hopefully DisneyStore.

I always hang dry, as PP said, any of my shirts that I can't afford to have shrink...JIC ;)

I also received my Safety Tats today. Yay!

:woohoo:, I got mine yesterday too. hopefully, no one ever has to call the number, but definitely worth the peace of mind :goodvibes

Has been extended, and I think we want to go. I am going to try and call in the morning, as I just found out. I have been sick all day.

My mom said she would watch the boys while DH and I took Madelyn and my 13yo cousin. I think they would actually appreciate this. Hope to get in! Will keep y'all updated.

good luck with the dessert party! it seems awesome but I know my mom just isn't going to be into it :(

and YAY for DME docs!

We decided not to do the dessert party. Maybe next time! It just seems that we have so much going on, and one more thing might be overkill.

20 more days- getting more excited!

I start a new job on Monday. Wish me luck- it will at least kill time until Disney!

Just got caught up on your PTR. :thumbsup2

Please let me know how the stroller fans work.... I'm going to have a 3 month old baby on our trip in March and think I might get a fan too... I think he's going to do a lot of sleeping and a fan would be a good idea ((If they work well))

Your kids are adorable!

Sorry to hear about your husbands black eye.... that's horrible...poor guy! :sad2:

I love all the items you got thus far for the trip.... Ebay is my best friend when I'm planning a Disney trip.. As a matter of fact I need to purchase some pins this weekend and maybe an autograph book.

Enjoy your trip... let me know when you get back of any tips on making the most of the day with such young kids. My 9 yo, 7 yo nieces are going with us and I'll have an almost 4 yo and 3 month old going with us in march... I'm a little nervous but super excited.

Thanks!

My friend just got back from her trip last week and I lent her my fans. She has a 3.5 yo and a 8 month old, and she said they worked great.

I use ebay a lot too. A lot of times you can get a great deal. I was thrilled with my Kooky Pens. The kids will love them!

Good luck at your new job!!! :goodvibes

Thanks!

It is odd to start a job just before vacation, but I told them about it before I was offered the job. I made it a condition of my accepting employment. They were cool with it.

I am not really looking forward to going though, as I haven't worked outside the home in almost 2 years. I will miss my baby Luke!

I start my new job on Monday and I cannot get myself going. I will be working right up until we leave, and I think I have so much to do, and I can't get myself to do it. Ever have so much going on you just stop going?

In truth, most of my shopping and stuff is done. All of the stuff that is going with us is not packed, but in boxes in my room. I have a calendar of things that need to be done starting 9/01, so I am just waiting for that.

Mostly what I have to do is cook and do laundry. I am working a 11:30 to 8pm shift, so I am making dinners ahead so DH won;t have to cook. Anything that I can throw in a crock pot or make as a freezable casserole is great. Any ideas? The reason I want to do this is so we don't eat out b/c we are tired. That would negate the whole purpose of me working, KWIM?

Anyone bringing Lysol with them? I am just getting over a virus and think that is probably a good idea. :confused3

I haven't done it before, but I am planning on bringing Lysol this trip too. With this H1N1 stuff it's better to be safe than sorry.

I went back to work F/T in March after being a SAHM and I actually really like it. It's nice being out of the house everyday and having a schedule. Stuff at home is harder to keep up with but we really needed the extra $$$. :goodvibes

We bought this house about 2 years ago. We bought it from my family after my grandmother passed. :( It is a 3 bedroom, one bath with a great room and a huge backyard. My grandmother did not have the money to keep the house properly, and it is now in DESPERATE need of a new kitchen($5000 min) and bathroom ($2000). The kitchen cabinets are actually sagging on the bottom b/c of a slow water leak we had no idea about, the vinyl flooring is peeling up, etc. The very long driveway needs all new asphalt($5000), the concrete porch is cracked and not level b/c of a tree root and needs to be removed (?), the garage is leaking($2000)and I think that is it.

When we bought the house we knew most of these repairs needed to be made. Even though we got a good deal on the house, we should not have bought a fixer upper. Anyway, the people we did our mortgage did not calculate our taxes correctly, and 6 months into the loan we were told our mortgage was going up $500 a month. :scared1:

We have dealt with that, but the repairs have not been done. That is part of the reason I am going back to work. So now after we buy a new car, we will start sinking money into the house.

But what is frustrating is that at the time of planning this vacation, we had the money for the vacation and some major repairs. And then DH decided his one job was too much and took a step down from a management position (I don't blame him). Then they told him they were relocating him and he didn't get paid for almost three weeks. Add some major car repairs and here we are. The $2000 we paid for this vacation is not much in the grand scheme of things. But at this point when everything else has gone wrong right before the trip, I feel stupid to not have put this money towards our house. Disney will always be there.

So needless to say, it seems there are many things that are marring my excitement for our first vacation, and I don't know how to shake myself out of this funk.

 I'm sorry you are in a funk. I know how hard that can be. How did your first day at work go? I hope you like your new job. :goodvibes

First day was bad, second day was better. Today is my first real work day. We will see how it goes!

I sent my money off for my Mickey Tye Dye shirts! Yay!
