This waiting game is the worst! I don't understand how that don't know where they need your DH. I think I'd be putting more in that cute coffee mug then just coffee at this point!

I've been tempted!!

It would be different if we told them to just pick something for him. But, we've been putting in requests of our own. If this particular detailer had been more readily available, Chuck could have talked to her on the phone or via email the first time and known they wanted him on a ship or overseas and that they wouldn't send the family overseas. But, we didn't know that and so were putting in requests for places they wouldn't send us.

Okay. You can uncover now. I think I have it out of my system.

I just called Chuck and apparently on this particular cycle, they have two weeks to decide, instead of the normal one.
So, he says we won't know until the 11th.

If you've only read the links, you might not know that we've been trying to get orders since Sept/October and this is our 4th time trying. All of our other requests were denied. They told us Chuck has to go on a ship this time or overseas without his family. I'm pretty confident we'll get one of our choices this time.



#1 was Everett, Washington
# 2 was staying here in Maryland
# 3 was Mayport, Florida
# 4 was Brunswick, Maine/Jacksonville, Florida (I guess it would be Maine until they close that base out and then have to move to Florida.)

I really want Washington State. No - nothing in Louisiana. Closest would be Pensacola, Florida or Texas, but those weren't options for us this time around.

I know this is totally off-topic, but I am having a dilemia here at work too! Right now, I am working 9.5 hours days, and then I have every other Friday off. Well that seems really good and I do love those fridays, but now, since I have a two year old getting hom every night at 5:30 is killing me! Once supper is cook and the kitchen's clean, I don't have a lot of down time before bed with my son or my DH.

The company will allow us to just work 8 hours days, so then I would be home everyday at 3:30PM...but no Friday's off!

What to do? Working 8 hour days would be so much better for my son, but DH likes me to have the Friday's off. He's self-employeed, so he's basically off every day!!! He wants me to keep the Fridays, but I really want to try the other.

We have a nanny and she says she doesn't care, she'll do whatever.

What to do? I am so torn about it.

Sometimes it's nice to go and let someone else pamper you. There's one salon near here that I've been to a few times (back when we lived here before Australia) and sometimes I'd go just for the shampoo/scalp massage! It felt so good.

Well, when he first submitted his choices with Iraq being #1, he was told coming from the base he was at, there was no way he would be going to Iraq. Then within a month, he had orders to where.....IRAQ!!!

Here is some more that you will hear sooner. Just hope you don't end up with one of those assignments where they need him next week or something.

Those of you who have read this PTR from the beginning know that about this time last year our cat Josie ran away. We got a new kitten a couple of months later named Oreo. Well, today is her birthday. I thought I'd post recent pictures of her that I took last night.

Thankfully, she does not have any interest in going outside.

Sometimes I think I want a dog, but having one cat is just so easy. Chuck and I had decided to wait and see where we ended up moving to before getting a dog. We didn't want to have to deal with taking one overseas. But, now I'm not sure I want one, especially if Chuck's going to be gone so much and it'll be like having another child.

I do like having my dogs, especially when the husband is away. Jacob's room is on the other side of the house and his dog, Bubblegum (the barker), sleeps with him and is very loud when she barks. Actually the other night she barked late at night, which is very unusual. When DH when to check it out, he said she was in Jacob's doorway, so she wasn't going to let anyone in. Still don't know what set her off, but makes me feel better. But you are right, they can be a lot of trouble and our dogs are a large reason why we have never put in to go overseas.

I have thought that having a dog around with Chuck being away a lot might make me feel safer. Living on military bases I usually feel pretty safe anyway. Guess it would depend on where we were living.

The funniest thing about the box lid was that it was barely big enough to hold her - but somehow she squeezed her chubby self into it.
