A Princess, Pirates and Pixie Dust!

Oh no for the "off day"!! I think we all have at least one of those per trip.

Love the pictures with Nemo! Glad the kids all enjoyed MS!! I could only do it once when we went. We did the Orange side and by the end of it I was feeling a little woozy.

Oh yea the "OFF" day !!! I hve a feeling next month will have it's OFF days with no GAC for our group!!! I am only gonna have 2 days to come up with a plan as I am calling back Special Needs for the full details on the 14th!!!

I know that is a big concern for you. I hope they will come up with a way to accommodate you. I know if you had a party of 10 or more it used to qualify as a Grand Gathering for special arrangements, but I don't know if they do that anymore.

I am thinking how much we used our FP and child swap this time - it made a huge difference, especially when it rained every afternoon and the kids wanted to leave early - I would hate to be held hostage by FP+ when it's drowning rain out. We're happy we got to use it the old fashioned way and not looking forward to the new magic bands at all. :(

Oh, oh.

Yup.

"Okay! I've got the whole day organized! First I need to run to the grocery store and pick up a few items, then over to the office store for a few more things. After that we'll pop over to the quickserve restaurant for a bite, down to the mall for clothes and sundries then over to Grandma's for a visit. Back home to get started on dinner with the groceries I picked up earlier then we'll have a family movie night!"

"Dad, I have soccer practice in the morning then band in the afternoon. Plus I told Melanie that I would come to her birthday party at 4pm and stay for the sleepover."

"Okay! Disregard everything I planned!"

Yep. Life happens when we're making plans! :faint:

Oh? No, "Get up at 5am people! This is supposed to be fun, no matter how cranky you are!"

I wonder why they call them "legacy tiles"? Wouldn't "Legacy postage sized stamp" be more accurate?

Too wordy I guess.

Somehow "leave a postage stamp" doesn't have the same sound as "leave a legacy" :rotfl:

Could've been worse. The parents might've paid with their own dollars instead... and been fuming at Grandma for telling the kids to get stuff.

Whoops! Good things come to those who wait.... not.

Not at Disney!

I've never quite understood why they call the non-spinning side the green side. Shouldn't the spinning side be the green side?

"Ride this side and you'll come out feeliing green!"

 So true - DSIS was green when we got off the ride in 2007!:rotfl2:

Thanks for the update Tammie! :goodvibes

Thanks for reading! I have more written - I just need to upload more photos.

Love the Nemo pictures!

I learned after traveling with my niece and nephew to just let the plan go and enjoy the moment. Made it a lot more fun than stressing about staying on the plan!

Jill in CO

Thanks! I think that was the best thing we did this trip, just go with the flow. We had to plan a little though or we would be standing around trying to figure it out - but little was the key word.

Love the pp pics how cute! Ugg those school tours I swear it never fails in Disney lol but I agree with Jill I have :tried: to let the planning go when we r in Dland etc and just ask when we r in line for the next ride where we going next and leave it up to them it has saved me stress lol. But I can see in a big group someone needs to have a plan of the day so u don't do a lot of I don't know where do u want to go lol. Glad it all worked out

Good way to do it! At DL, we make the circle, starting at SM, and just send a runner ahead for FP, ride one stand-by, ride one FP, etc. working our way around all the "bigs" and then come back and see what else we want to do - It works out great!

LOVE the family photo.:thumbsup2

Thank you!

Yeah just a little!!

Well I don't know if I shared here or not but we may be going back to WDW in June next year!!!! But we won't be flying!!! I've started a PTR so check it out here when you get a chance. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3179094

Yeah!:cool1: I'll be there! I think I saw something from you on Judy's thread about this trip. It will be a crazy road trip for sure! I think Texas is right on your way if you take 10 across - you're welcome to stay with us if it works out for you !

Thanks for the invite!! I would love to see you again! I think this is one of the craziest things we've ever planned to do!! I don't know what way we're going to go yet but we have plenty of time to figure that out.

First, remember the 10:00 RD we were going to make? Well, it turned out they changed it to 9:00 quite awhile after I made the ADRs.

I was going to say something about this in your last chapter, but I thought I would wait to see how it played out. Everytime we've been to WDW, opening time for each park has always been 9 am. Glad to hear it worked out.

Lady H and I have our picture in the graveyard as well. We had a little trouble finding our picture last time because we forgot to bring the information with us. Then I remembered we had taken pictures of it from a past trip and posted the pics to Flickr. I was able to locate ours that way.

We did our picture in 2006 as well. I wonder if we're anywhere close to them?

I missed your last update, but just have to say that those PP pictures and groups shots are EXCELLENT! What great memories!

It will be awhile, but it will go fast with the new baby coming and everything!

That would be funny - your "Legacy postage stamp" is probably at least in the same row. - They were married in April but didn't actually take their Disneymoon until September. Smart thinking on the Flickr pics. I think they had the location written down somewhere, because we were able to use their directions and find it by ourselves in 2007.

Thanks Mary Ellen! We really did luck out on the PP people!

Yeah time does seem to move faster than we'd like at times!! January will be here before we know it!!

We did ours in July 2006. Comparing your picture with our pictures, it looks like our stamp is on a completely different stone then their stamp.

I've teared up at least 5 times reading this! Your family is amazing! You are amazing -- you raised wonderful boys! and Welcome to Texas. Even though the Texans aren't your fave team :confused3 Texas wants you anyways! :yay:

can't wait to hear more! popcorn::

Hi Polka Dot! Welcome! pixiedust: Love your DIS name! princess: Thank you so much! The best thing about Texas is the wonderful people! We still do love our Ducks, but we'll get there! Love Corpus BTW - I can't wait to visit again and check out South Padre - we went to the State Park (Mustang?) last time - going to check out a little more South next time.

Thank you so much, my faithful readers for being here even though I've been a little scarce. This Summer just before our trip, my medical coding job that I do at home for my old job back in Oregon had a little hitch in their giddy-up (does that sound like a Texan?:confused3) and my hours were pretty much given away. So with needing a job, I accepted a two day a week consulting job with a doc in our church. Well, of course my hours have tripled for Oregon, and I am:badpc: trying to keep up with both jobs, as well as helping to watch the little ones as their have been some day care difficulties for little Mav.

I now give you the next Chapter in Missteps and Missions:pixiedust:

after I figure out where I was...

Now it was time to use the Soarin’ FP. So Jim and I took the little guys on Nemo and then over to the aquarium and to visit Bruce, etc.

After awhile, the hang gliders came down to earth, and we did a little shopping in the gift shop. Looks like Evan needed a nap - if only the two yr olds would have slept at the same time. :bitelip:

Ryan had gotten a Chase meet n greet set up, so we got a private session with Mickey and Pluto!

Mav was being Shy - Mickey is hoping to make friends with him:

Evan doesn't look too thrilled, does he? The life of a famous person- all that paparazzi going on, you know!

Mav blew a kiss.. we're getting there

Peek a Boo!

Getting warmer

Okay NOW we can have a family pic!

We headed into Innoventions - somehow I thought there would be more to interest the little ones - they checked out the firetruck again, and then
Where's the Fire - we were just in time for our littles to participate in a fire drill session - Evan got a little scared when the alarm rang and ran around the house screaming, and trying to find the door, which gave the fireman a good chance to educate the kids on what not to do :rotfl2:

I think true to form, Londynn is quizzing Mason -

Back out into the sun – it seemed like a good time to check out Club Cool – I had a taker for the Beverly!

CONTINUED NEXT POST:

We decided that we were starting to get a little hungry, and the boys wanted to do Agent P, so it was time to head across the bridge and go on an international adventure! I have to say, as much as I was trying to be positive, the natives were a little restless. I dont know if it was the heat, or too much waiting around and not enough for the littles to do&.. but things were starting to go South&. (why is that a bad thing??? We live in the South not too bad here, I must say.)

I remembered eating at that Mexican place and it seemed like a regular Mexican place please dont laugh at me I cant believe I forgot to be a DISmom this day. So I ran ahead to the sign the one at the steps Mr Grumpy was SURE this was not a restaurant This had to be the Rio de Tiempo ride or something&. I triumphantly saw the name of the restaurant OH YES it was the place San Angel Inn!http://www.wdwmagic.com/dining/san-...2011-new-look-san-angel-dining-room/13888.htm
We went in and asked for a table for 11. I later saw La Hacienda De San Angel, but in looking at the menu, it wasn't "regular" either. I guess things have changed.

No problem, there will be a little wait. While we were doing the little wait. We had a chance to look around Hmmm. Looks a little fancy came from both Jim and Lindsay. Well, well just have to do our best to stay on budget we all had time to freshen up. I asked for a table I saw in the front corner by ourselves because our littles were starting to fade, but they said that area was closed. Oh well, soon we were seated and we all asked for water to drink we were so hot and thirsty. We immediately got a tude from the waitress We opened the menus and it got REALLY quiet. Had I known which place it was, I would have known what to expect but $25 to $40 per plate for lunch was not what we were looking for. Jim was FUMING because this place was so expensive for RICE AND BEANS!!!! He really needed a nap.

Remember we were trying to stick to a budget for our QS meals, and this was not the place I had been thinking of& Oops. So we opted to get the kids meals and share an appy between each of the adults to tide us over. The waitress started on the other end of the table by the time she got to us she was quite snarky, Sighing and rolling her eyes Im sure because of such a big group having a relatively small ticket and not as much tip coming When we had ordered our appy, she snapped at us and said that the chips and salsa were only complimentary IF you ordered entrees. IF we wanted chips it would be $4.99 per basket! We looked at her and calmly asked her to bring THREE baskets and put them on our ticket in fact put all of the SNACKS on our ticket. I gave her the MOM look that I use for misbehaving children, and she stopped being so snarky after that. We really werent that hungry as wed had the large buffet and this snack and cool air really hit the spot. We all settled in and enjoyed our snacks. The menu looks a little different than I remember, because I think I remember the kids getting nachos. We got the Taquiza - Taco trio featuring rib eye taco with chipotle salsa, roasted chicken taco with salsa verde and Chilorio(marinated pork) taco. - $10.75 AND the non-complimentary chips and salsa. I might have asked for some queso on the side&. Anyway the kids enjoyed coloring their menus and looking around, and we did have a nice time. When we got the bill, we had something to write on the DIS about - $85 nachos!!! It is still a joke with us.

Heres the BEST part! Londynn still talks about how At Disneyworld, in the Mexican place, theres a REAL volcano and stars! I told Jim while we were fussing over the unexpected menu, the kids were making memories! :goodvibes

NEXT: Lookin' for Dufenschmertz!

Loving the day so far. Not so much the missteps but the memories. :rotfl:

I can see where you can totally get off with the 2 La Haciendas.

Sorry it brought out the 'tude, I know that feeling all too well. I have actually paid attention lately to drinks outside the world and prices of food and well they are not really higher in the World.

Glad you gave the waitress the Mom look. :rotfl2:

Hope that little rest did everyone good.

Good to see you back, Tammie; I've missed you.

What a fun update. I am just in love with the whole set of pictures of your private meet and greet with Mickey and Pluto. The family one though is my favorite. :goodvibes

Great face after drinking The Beverly.

We've never eaten in any of the Mexican restaurants (I don't do Mexican food), but I can see with the three of the restaurants over there it getting a bit confusing.

But it ended well and the grandkids made memories...and that is what Disney is all about.

I love the family picture!! Every one is smiling!!

ugh about the tude from the waitress. At lease she finally started acting right after you gave her the look. Glad the kids were still making magical memories regardless of what was going on around them.
