A Pre-Trip Report by a 5 yo princess...The final countdown!!

It has been hot here lately! UGH! LOL
Well yesterday dh figured out how to hook my laptop up to our big screen tv so we spent the day letting the kids watch you tube videos of the rides/shows on the tv! It was a fun day and a great way to get Aubrey even more excited about our trip. It amazed me how much she remembered! Now if her mother could just get some more packing done.:confused3 :rotfl:

It sounds like that was fun. The thing my boys have been doing lately is making me pull up stuff on the new 3D Google Earth. They will come into my room and ask me to show my nephew x-ride. I then pull it up and they ask to see soemthing else. This goes on for about 20 minutes everyday. They are really excited about taking my nephew (their cousin) to WDW in October 2009.
Also, I'm so happy our countdown is less than 5 months away!! I started counting down this trip at 417 days.

My DH just told me last night that he is thinking about taking an IT contract job in Iraq for 6 months (maybe a year). If he did then he would not be able to go on our Disney trip, but the DS's and I would still go. I just don't know what I would do with DH's ticket. Option 1 is to change my DH into my sister in law's name and then get a ticket for my nephew. I would then have to change resorts b/c we would then have 5 people. Then I would have to change all our ADR's to 5 people and hope that I can still get them all in. Option 2 is to try and get my sister to go with us, and then just change DH's ticket to her name. Option 3 would have me just going with my DS's and try and get a refund on DH's ticket. So far Option 2 and 3 are my favorite choices. He doesn't know yet if he is going to do it or not. He works with a guy that just got back from doing that. It's some crazy good money. If he were there a year, we could totally pay off his school pus have lots of money left over. If he's there 6 months we can still pay off his school, but not have left over.

Wow Iraq huh? I can't imagine. I would go crazy if dh did something like that. LOL G/L with the decision though.

On a bright note though.....

I got our ME docs today!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:  :cool1:

He just had his friend email his resume to contrators that he knew still in Iraq today. He would just get a lot more experience there than he could here. Right now in the IT field that want you to already have all this experience that he just doesn't have b/c he's been in school. Also, the money is really good. I mean like $10,000 + a month easily, and I think the first $50,000 is untaxable. It's not our first choice, of course. We'll just have to wait and see.

Well let me know how it goes. I'll keep my fingers crossed it goes the way you want it to!

I did manage to get a little bit done this weekend. We bought Ashton a pair of Mickey Crocs. I've been waiting till closer to the trip to make sure we got the right size. I didn't want him to outgrow them before we hit Disney!:rotfl: I also managed to find Aubrey 2 pairs of the quick dry swim shorts for $5.99 each this weekend!!  Sure beats $15 a pair on Lands end on sale! I still have to get a new pair of Crocs for myself though and get dh a new pair of tennis shoes. I also got Aubrey's back pack for school and already have her lunch box. I will end up buying the supplies from the school so that won't be that bad. Just have to remember because they start selling them just days before we leave.

The hardest part has been keeping everything in the suitcases that I have managed to get together. The kids seem to like playing in them!

Now I'm off to make a list of the last few things I need to buy for the trip and for Aubrey for school. I know new tennis shoes are on that list for sure.

Anyway, hope you are all having a good Monday. John and Susan where are you? You would think you are busy getting ready to move or something!:rotfl2:

We told my DH's parents about the idea of him going to Iraq, and they took it better than I thought they would. They weren't happy about it, but just not as upset and I thought they would be.
I was at my mom's house on Sunday, and let her die my hair (big mistake, but the good news it that it can be fixed). Anyway, my mom asked me what we would do about our Disney trip. I told her that the DS's and I would go anyway. Then she offered to go. I said that would be ok with me, but we were going for 8 days and I didn't know if she wanted to leave my dad alone in a house with my grandmother for that long. At first she didn't think it would be a good idea. Then she said that she didn't think my dad would want me to go away like that without someone. That she guessed she could go for that long, just so I wouldn't have to be by myself. I was thinking "whatever mom, you just don't want to admit that you really want to go." If it did come to it, we would just change the plane ticket to her name (or my sister's) and we would pay for the trip like the DH was going.
I would love to buy some Disney crocs before our trip. Do you guys wear socks with them?
I convinced my DH to buy me a new bag for the trip. When we got our tax return, I bought my first Coach bag. They have a new slingpack that looks a lot like my big one. I usually don't take a bag into the park, but I am thinking about taking one on our December trip. I just don't want to take my big Coach bag into the parks. The swingpack goes across the body and has a zipper that my current bag doesn't. The only thing is that I fudged a little on what I told him the price was. I told him it was $40. I only underpriced it by $100, so I'll just have to help him with even more homework for his current class (Accounting class for his grad degree).

Glad the family took it well. Just wanted to share a few pictures from today. LOL

How cute!!!
I miss having one in onesies.
Aubrey can color really well!
This is the bag that I have convinced my DH to get me:

Well I did manage to get a few more things packed today. I'm actually getting excited to check the mail now. I already got the ME paperwork, now I just need the rest of it. Should be any day now.

LOL on the bag, I am so not a bag person. I only buy the cheapie at Walmart. LOL I will spend slightly more on a diaper bag because I carry everything in it. I even found Aubrey a LV looking purse for her bday at Walmart! LOL

thanks, she is doing a lot better with some of the coloring and writing etc. Hopefully, the new meds will continue to work. Hey did I tell you she is now on Depakote? Isn't that what your ds is taking? I just thought that was a sweet moment yesterday when they were sitting side by side with the crayons and coloring books.

Ok, off to feed my troop. Ashton is about to pass out he is so tired. I don't know how we will keep this boy awake long enough to see wishes or anything! LOL

Yes, John is on Depakote. He takes a 500 mg pill every night before bed. The first time I gave it to him, I made the mistake of calling it a "horse pill" b/c it's so big. It took me forever to convince him to take it b/c he thought it would turn into a horse.
Every once in a while I get on this bag phase. I have the Coach bag, and two Dooney & Burkes (one is a small one). I have no clue where the Dooney bags are though. I bought a really cute one from Target, but it's a little small for me. Most of my bags are made by my mom. She used to sell purses and totes that she made. One of the ones she made for me is an Elvis tote, and a Harry Potter. She's not making them anymore though. Now she's making little girl's purses and embellishes overalls and blue jeans for girls.

Those sound cute!

Aubrey is taking 125 mg 2 x daily. She has the capsules though and I just sprinkle the powder out onto her food. It is great she doesn't even know she is taking it!:cool1:

John used to take those. I never thought about giving them to him that way. He does really good taking the big pill.

Aubrey isn't so good at swallowing pills. This works out perfect for us. Glad he can take them though!

30 Days!!!!:cool1: :cool1:

Yeah, I am really glad that he can swallow a pill that big. I was worried about it at first, but he has no trouble taking them at all.
Keep your fingers crossed. David put in his application for a job that if he gets it, he will be making about $22,000 more than he is making now. The downside is that he thinks it's a further drive than he has now, and would most likely want to move closer. I told him that he would just have to deal with the drive b/c John just doesn't handle change well. The upside, it's not in Iraq and I won't have to worry about him getting blown up, and he will get to go on our WDW trip in December.
Congrats on the 30 day countdown. I can't wait for mine to get down that low, but I would be going crazy trying to get everything together.

I had intended on posting, but came down with a wicked virus. Thankfully, I am feeling a lot better today.

Aubrey asks daily if today is the day we go to Disney! LOL Not yet babe! Almost!

We did get a few more things purchased and on their way to the suitcase. I just haven't gotten them in it yet. We also made some changes to our ADR's for this trip. We canceled 50's Prime Time, CP Dinner and 1900 PF Breakfast. We also changed JoJo to breakfast instead of lunch. We won't be on the dining plan this time, so we decided to cut back on some of the dining this trip. We will more than make up for it in Dec when we will be on the dining plan.

We also were able to get Ohana for Dinner on Xmas night and canceled WCC. I wanted either Ohana or 1900 PF so I'm happy there was a cancellation that I could snag.

We usually have a lady that boards our dogs for us but it would cost us $240 to board them and I just don't want to spend the money. They are outside dogs so it isn't like we have to have someone coming in and out of the house if we don't board them. So the neighbor kids (we are good friends with their family and dad will bring them over) will take care of them for us and we are going to give them both $20 to take care of them for us. We usually also park at the terminal but prices are so crazy there now we are parking at an offsite lot that my other neighbor told me they use. $4.78 a day to park in a covered lot versus $15 a day at the terminal. So we should be set. I have my ME papers, but am kinda getting nervous that I don't have my other package from Disney yet. Hopefully, I'll have it this week.

Other than that, I joined a gym this weekend. I got an awesome deal with no contract for a womens only gym. I will get to go tomorrow for the first time. Aubrey starts camp again tomorrow and is taking an art class. She is excited about that.

Well I guess that is the update for now. I hope to get some more stuff done tomorrow, but between playing taxi back and forth to camp and going to the gym I have a feeling I won't get much done until Aubrey finishes camp on Aug 1st.

Well hope you all had a great weekend. Talk to you all soon!

I think I need to join a gym. I went tonight with my sister and oldest son to a DCI (Drum Core International ) show. We were on row 25th of the stadium (which is good for watching marching bands), but in the hot Texas heat I almost passed out. I had to will my legs to work on the last several rows of steps and down to our seats. Then when we sat down I heard a lot ringing in my ears, that was getting so loud that I almost couldn't hear, and I thought I was really going to pass out. In spite of the heat, we had a great time. Other than my 10 yr old spilling his Sprite all over my Coach bag.
