A Pre Thanksgiving/Christmas Vacation, Our First Split Stay & Our 5th Trip to Disney!

Those are nice pins! I can see why your son wants to keep some! :lmao: Did you get them in one of those "mystery pins" auctions on ebay where you get random selection? I always think about doing that for trading too. My kids have a nice collection they want to keep. I thought if they like trading I should leave some of those behind and get "trading" ones so they don't want to keep them! I hope they "get" it!

Yep, it was a total mystery what pins we would get. I didn't expect such nice ones! I just got them for trading because the boys really like the pins that they have now. I had heard of people buying them on ebay and I told myself if I could get 10 for $12 or under I would do it. It took me about 5 tries before I won an auction for 10.99!

Is OKW on your short list??? popcorn::

Have I ever had a short list??? :lmao:

I've always been intrigued by OKW...the size of the rooms and especially the price! I'll definitely look into a 2 br there if we are all going to stay in the same "room"...but I'm not sure about that, either. We may need some time apart!

I know nothing at this point. I'm just awaiting my scout's info. Ummm, I mean, your trip report. :rotfl2:

Sorry I've been missing in action again....been getting my boss ready for a two day custody trial. Yuck!

Lacey used to collect and trade Disney pins and amassed a collection of over 400! Hunter has now decided he wants to start doing the whole pin trading thing. For years and years (and still do), I bought pins from a wonderful seller on ebay. His name is Marc and his seller name is sellandship. He recently bought several warehouses of Disney merchandise and quit his day job to ebay sell full time. He starts his Disney pins out for a really low price and will combine shipping. I highly recommend him!

Well, no not really. You are usually all over the place on where to stay. Much like me! :rotfl: Hey  maybe you'll end up doing a split stay too!

I keep forgetting you will have extras with you next time. OKW would probably be your best bet (money wise) for a 2 BR.

I feel so special to be your "scout"! :goodvibes

Kim~ if your dd is too little, your little boy would be into it I am sure...dd did it starting in Jan 08..she was 4 turning 5. The kids still love it.. I think I too am gonna hit ebay for some extras to trade...they looooove the ones they have right now! I think I need to get them a new lanyard when we get there...the ones we have are lookin shabby. I started them at the pin place at DTD..it's my favorite one!
OK... back to Shelly folks...for her regularly scheduled topic!!!:rotfl:

Shelly, if your boys are at all interested in dinosaurs, then UoE might be worth a try. Or if anyone needs a nice nap! I haven't seen it since they added Ellen and the whole Jeopardy theme...it's been quite a while.

Count me among those who insist you go on HM this trip! That's been a favorite of mine ever since I was little. Way back when WDW and I were young ;) I always loved HM but thought PotC was kind of scary :confused3

Thanks for the tip!:thumbsup2

The guy I bought from doesn't charge for shipping, so that made it an even better deal1 :cool1:

I like the silhouette pins the best - good deal Shelly!

Thanks Sea! :)
It's almost as shameful as forgetting DH's underoos.

I love the pins! I'm wondering if my kids would like to get into the pin trading?

 You said underoos!!!

If your kids aren't shy they will love to do pin trading! My kids stop CM's all over the place to look at their pins!! :rotfl: Your DD may be a little too young, but your DS would probably have fun with it!

Do I have a regularly scheduled topic here??? :confused3 It seems to me that we talk about anything from trip planning and rides, to commando and underoos!! :rotfl2:

The boys aren't really too much into dinosaurs anymore. They might find it interesting though. . . We'll just have to see if we have an hour to kill I guess! :rotfl:

Wow, everybody loves HM!! I feel so left out. I really must ride it this time! :thumbsup2

Poor Shelly...she is gonna have a HM complex!!!
Girl, I just can't understand how you have missed it!!!!! It has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid...I think I was 7 the first time I went (maybe 8).....loved it!!!! Just let you kids be prepared that the people who are your "ghost hosts" cms......are NOT friendly...its part of the shtick....it's really hilarious... but if they don't know they might be intimidated. Just try to get one of them to laugh or talk....they are sooooooo stone faced. i love it! Oh, and make SURE when the lights go out in the stretching room that you look straight up!!!!!

Well today is the last day I can do the "One Month" thing because one month from tomorrow we will be coming back home. :sad1:

So. . . In ONE MONTH from today - Nov 14 - We will be getting up bright and early and heading to MK for breakfast at Crystal Palace. We will hopefully be done before MK opens up and get some pics of main street nearly empty. :cloud9: We will go to Fantasyland first thing and do all of those cute rides and see Mickey's Philharmagic! After that I AM GOING TO RIDE THE HAUNTED MANSION even if I have to ride all by myself!!! Then we will do anything we missed earlier in the week and do our favorites again. At one point I'm sure we will stop for a Dole Whip float. Well, I will. The rest of the family doesn't like them. :confused3 And we will probably have a late lunch at Casey's and say goodbye to the parks. We will head back for our last night at OKW. Enjoy some time at the resort and possibly make one last trip to DTD. And pack. Again. We have a 10:30am flight home the next day so ME will likely pick us up around 7:30am.

Hi Shelly! Glad I'm not too late to see the 'One Month' game! I'm going to go back and read the rest!!!

I didn't know that you guys didn't all ride the HM. That's my favorite one!!!! ........ right behind Splash of course. :goodvibes

You made it just in time for the last day of the One Month game!! :goodvibes

Nope, never been on HM. :sad2: Only been on Splash once! I just don't like walking around wet all day. :confused3 Yuck! So I have to time Splash just right so we can ride it last thing on a day when we are leaving MK in the middle of the day. . . Hey, maybe that will be in ONE MONTH from today!! :yay:

So I'm really starting to worry is is going to be HOT when we go. :scared: There are several reports here on the DIS that it is still in the 90's everyday and extremely hot & humid. Is that normal for mid October? I guess I just expected it to start to cool down a bit by now. DH's co-worker was just there from last Thursday to this Monday. He said it was so hot and miserable it just ruined the trip. One day it was 97 :scared1: and his wife passed out in Italy in Epcot and the CM's had to cover her with ice. :sad2: Not my idea of a fun vacation.

Maybe I should have stuck with January. :guilty:

Hoping it cools down into the 70's & lower 80's over the next 3 weeks! :wizard:

Oh, I'm sure it will cool down for you! I just listened to a podcast and someone asked about November and they said it usually gets nicer, less humid and less rain. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!! (me too for early December!)

The boys picked out which of the new pins they wanted last night and added them to their lanyards and then we packed them!

I hope you're right!

I did just check the Orlando 10 day weather forecast and it looks like after Friday it is going to start to cool down a bit. Hopefully that will continue! :goodvibes

We have a friend at WDW this week. Yesterday it was about 90 and hot, and then last night at MNSHP it rained. No need to worry about the weather - I am sure you will have a good time.
