My FIL is in the hospital, my MIL was on a trip in Mexico and is on her way back in the morning. He sounded okay this morning but having some problems that I wanted him to go to the Dr for, then later wouldn't answer the phone. I ended up calling 911 and having them get me in the house because I didn't have a key. When they couldn't get his blood sugar stable we went to the hospital. He is stable but his liver function isn't what it should be and his ankles & feet are badly swollen. He has several health issues so things can get complicated, I think they checked more boxes on the existing conditions than were left blank. :(

My youngest DD corrected me when I called him Dad said he wasn't my Dad but he has been for 20 years and that counts for enough in my book.

Please pray that this crisis will pass quickly and he can be back home spoiling his grandkids where he belongs.

Oh janette, how scary! Lots of well wishes and prayers coming your way for your FIL. Please keep us posted.

Janette, I am sorry to hear about your FIL. Prayers that your MIL arrives back home safely and that your FIL is feeling better as the day progresses.

Definitely, Janette. Prayers for your Dad... the fact that you call him that says it all.

God bless and let us know how he is,

Robinrs

Hope your FIL is better soon.

My best wishes, Janette, for dad, along with my prayers. Sounds like a great guy. My best also for your hubby.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for your FIL!

My best wishes and prayers for your dad and you all. I hope he is feeling better soon

My FIL is in pretty bad shape. They told us Tuesday that he had a 10% chance if they could get his liver to start improving. It hasn't happened.

He's still with us but without a miracle won't have much time, we are really praying for that miracle. Please add him to your list also.

Thank you.

I just said a prayer for him.

Prayers are on the way Janette.

(((HUGS))) to your family.

Sorry to hear that update, Janette, but we know miracles certainly do happen. He remains in my prayers, hoping he turns a good corner and recovers.

My prayers are with you also. This is also a reason NOT to switch your phone carrier to a VOIP system. They usually don't support 911, or if they do, the 911 operator doesn't have your location when you call. That's the beauty of 911, you don't have to supply a location. You might not be able to speak (such as a stroke), or you might not know the address. Last December, my MIL had a stroke. She was on the floor for 12 hours before a friend stopped by. Fortunately the door was unlocked. The friend dialed 911. Although she'd visited many times, she didn't know the exact address. However, 911 didn't need it and an ambulance was there in 5 minutes. Another system would have wasted precious time trying to establish the address and directions. The savings of VOIP (voice over internet provider) is tempting, but its not worth it. Good luck and my prayers are with you.
