We are staying in the preferred 60's building for our trip next month in September. Is it worth the $10 extra per night? We have a 2 year old and a stroller and don't want to have to walk too far so that is part of our reasoning. Also, we will be renting a car to drive from the airport to the Pop. How is the parking situation for the 60's building? Is it better in some of the other buildings? Can you see any fireworks from the 60's building? Can you get a view of hourglass lake from the 60's building? How is the noise level in the 60's builiding?

Where is the playground in relation to the 60's building?
Where is the Pop jet fountain in relation to the 60's building?
Where is the kiddie pool in relation to the 60's building?

Are we better off staying in the 50's or the 70's?

Sorry about all the questions. My obssesive compulsive disorder is in high gear at the moment. ROTFLMAO!

I've read many places that the 50's building is very close - so the extra money for the 60's isn't worth it. That's just what I've heard though.. hopefully someone can give you a definite answer. I'd think the 60's building would be more crowded.

Nonetheless, we asked for 50's if possible for our stay coming up.

Good luck!!

We stayed at POP on 2 seperate visits back in early July. We loved it there. In regard to some of your questions, here goes.

The 60s buildings are convenient to the main building and fairly close to the busses. They are not (in my opinion) convenient at all to parking. In fact they seem that they would have some of the longest walks to parking. If you plan on using your car, you can plan on walking. The 50s and 70s buildings are almost as close to the main building as the 60s (in some cases closer)

One of the 70s buildings is almost adjacent to the bus location. The 70s parking situation can be tight, depending on what time you get back in the evening. The 50s looked like it was pretty convenient to parking (we stayed in 70s and 90s so I only walked around the 50s didn't park there.)

Not sure about the fireworks viewing from the 60s. I suspect from some locations you could. I saw the fireworks one night from our 4th floor room at the 70s one night. I have heard others say from some buildings in the 50s you can see them too.

Not sure about the noise levels at the 60s. They weren't bad in our room in the 90s and we were rather close to the pool there, really close to the giant laptop on the first floor. The kiddie pool is just past the main pool in the 60s section so it is between the two buildings closer to the lagoon. The pop jet area is right next to one 60s building, but also right next to the two 70s buildings. The one playground I saw was in the 70s area. Not sure if there are others at the resort, didn't really look for them.

It is really up to you where you are better off. For me, the $10 per night isn't worth it to me, especially considering I use my car frequently in Orlando. Really, any of the buildings are not as far as you may think from the main building or the hippie dippy pool. I was pleased with our room in the 90s, but also very pleased with our location in the 70s. We overlooked the courtyard with the giant mickey phone, etc. Good luck in your decision.

We've been at POP 5 times so far this year with a 2 and newly turned 3 year old boy. The first time we stayed in 60s - and it was "nice" because we walked right by the popjets every time we entered or exitied our room (SARCASTIC - we stayed in January and DS wanted to play in COL water every time, leading to screaming meltdowns). Location was fine, we were on the back side of the pool and it was quiet. Kiddie pool was close to where we were, on the other side. We've also been in the 50s - right by the pool, and it was quiet - our neightbors were LOUD, but that's can't be helped. The 70s are my favorite - I like the poster in that room the best. I wouldn't want the 80s or 90s buildings - they were quite a walk. But the Potato Heads are down there - go look at them. Kids playgroung is by the 70s building, near the main POP foodcourt building.

We have always parked at registration and never moved the car, no matter which building we've stayed in. The parking situation is horrible ther, IMO, and it just makes it easier when we are staying for 2 nights to park it once and leave it alone.

Good luck - either way, I wouldn't pay more for the 60s unless you are really really tired after walking all day and need a really really quick way back to your room.
