A Pirate and Princess Get Married...and Disneymoon! UPDATE 6/15 DAY 3 PART 2

Congrats on your marriage and the new job!! What a great way to start the summer.

I love reading and looking at all the pics you have posted!!! You two make a gorgeous couple!

I had been toying around with the idea of getting the Japanese Hair Treatment for quite some time. For those of you who don't know this treatment takes hair that is curly and makes it straight by use of chemical. It works so well that when you get out of the shower it is immediately straight without any assistance.

A friend of mine has had it done several times in Queens because of the price break. Finally, I gave in and yesterday I took the trip. The overall process took NINE HOURS. Guess that's the price break, the service was TERRIBLE.

However, when done I washed my hair, brushed it and was DONE. Not bad compared to the usual two hour pattern I go through.

I know a lot of women have considered this so if anyone wants details PM me :goodvibes

OOOH, pics PLEASE !!! :3dglasses

After taking a short respite from the parks we were ready for our dinner at Goofy's Kitchen. I was excited for this restaurant because I had heard a multitude of great reviews. The overall consensus was that Goofy's Kitchen could be compared to Chef Mickey's. Since we had never eaten at either of these restaurants we were very excited.

I convinced Jeremy to walk with no ulterior motives

We arrived at the Disneyland Hotel with only one necklace and two stuffed animals later :rolleyes1 . What?

We were a bit early so we examined the hotel. It was the most bland of any of the hotels I've been in that Disney owned with no real theming to make it feel Disney-ish. Sure there were a couple of statues, and a few paintings but nothing that really screamed love for the mouse.

However, Jay didn't seem to mind

We decided to go have a cocktail at the bar which was very elegant and we relaxed for a bit. Eventually it was time to go over to the restaurant which was going through absolute mayhem. It made O'hana at fireworks time look like a quiet room of a library. Seriously, I would never go back again just to avoid the zoo. It was like a pack of hyenas after the last grub. Not some place you'd like to be. Parents thrusting their children at poor innocent characters taking the blow of dozens of children bumping, pulling. I swear I heard Pluto make the dog whimper. Help me, he seemed to say as we made our way over. Sorry Pluto, we've got nothing on this crowd.

Thankfully things simmered down a bit once we were seated. We made our way over to the buffet which had a very limited selection. I was honestly surprised. Any buffet at Disney World has HUGE selections. The buffet here was about the size of my kitchen. But, we tried to make the best of it. The characters were cute enough, that is until Peter Pan came over.

I want to preface what I'm about to say by saying that the best man in our wedding is gay. Our next door neighbors are a gay couple that we love. We are far from close minded.

That being said this was the most flamingly over the top homosexual I've met in a long time. He was ridiculous in every way that a gay person could be. Think of Nathan Lane in the bird cage and multiply times 100. That was how over the top he was, and I loved him for it.

After our session with Peter we met Minnie and Goofy and decided not to wait around for Wendy and Chip. Sorry guys, we've got places to go.

Goofy didn't seem to mind.

Plus Jeremy had definitely had his full.

We decided to take a taxi back to the hotel and call it a night.

UP NEXT: THE DRUG DEAL

I have never been impressed by Goofy's Kitchen, It used to be better in it's old location years ago when it was about where the Compass Book Store is in Downtown Disney.

UP NEXT: THE DRUG DEAL

You went back to the Block of Orange?????:confused3

I totally feel your pain with the IBS thing...I have to it too and it is not fun and always comes about at the wrong time.

I am sorry you got a little sick from the heat and that Goofy's kitchen was so crazy.

Can't wait to read more!!!

Thanks for the update! :thumbsup2 Did you know that you have "Hidden Mickeys" on your shoes in the picture with Pluto? :goodvibes

I love your TR! That plate of desserts in front of Jeremy looks insanely YUM.

Can't wait to read more! I also want to see pics of your new hair!

It looks like I have a long lost twin! I really hope so too, the new haunted mansion is great. I loved the outside of Small World but I would agree that WDW is nicer. It seems there's much more going on at once, whereas in Disneyland there's portions of just empty space. Yes, I definitely am not a video game person, although Jay is crazy about them so it makes sense that I would do terrible. Looks like you're in the same boat as me. Now I know to skip the bread tour and go straight for the tortilla!

Clearly we wer separated at birth! :rotfl:

Ulterior motives? You? Never. You are a perfect

UP NEXT: THE DRUG DEAL

So, now I realize why I have never gone to Goofy's Kitchen. I must have sensed its craziness. Sorry about the insanity.

OMG - drug deal? First, the Block at Orange and now this? :sad2:

Did I mention before that I really want to hear about the hair thing? The problem is I leave mine curly a few days each week now, so I would have to change that. But to not have to mess with it for 2 hours the other mornings would be worth it.

Just caught up to your trip report. Congrats on the wedding. you look beautiful...:cutie:

i was just telling dbf that we had to go to disneyland to check out the different rides... I dont' think that he is having it. :confused3 :confused3

I also know your pain on the IBS. I have such a severe case that I have to take three sets of pills with me wherever I go. I was looking at the pictures with the ice cream... If only I could have that .. I would look like :scared1: :scared1:

That is awesome that you got the dream fast passes. I cannot wait to hear more.

btw -- I lived in Hoboken for six years. I actually just left a couple years back to move in with dbf. hopefully the wedding bells with be a ringin soon!! :cloud9:

Hi everyone, I'm sorry I haven't updated in *SO* long. I'm going through a very chaotic time in my life. The job that I was given the offer for was never signed and there's been some sort of "problem" with payroll and every week they've been telling me the starting position is the following week, and so on and so forth. Finally I decided I can't just sit around and wait for a position that isn't on paper so I've literally had 2-3 interviews everyday in NY andit's been really stressful not to mention time consuming so I haven't had much time for anything else. Hopefully very soon I'll have something in writing and can put my mind at ease and get back to the boards. Till then I wish everyone the best possible wishes and send love :wizard:

I am so sorry you are having trouble with the job! I wish you the best of luck getting one!!!

Just caught up-- shwew!
Barring the extreme heat, the mall from valley girl hell, and the wine incident, sounds like you guys had a good time! Can't wait to hear more!

Good luck job hunting. :thumbsup2 I am doing it myself in D.C. and it is no fun at all!

Sorry about the job....things will start looking up soon. I'll send some pixie

dust your way...pixiedust:

I'm back and have a great job starting on Monday!!! It's paying a great salary and the best part is it's in Hoboken, not Manhattan so it will knock half an hour off of my commute by not having to take the subway (which I absolutely hate) and not having to pass the World Trade Center every day (which kills me as I lost a relative 9-11 and then seeing tourists flocking to the area making such disrespectful comments not realizing that people walking by lost their families there). Anyway, off topic, sorry!

Things were pretty crazy for awhile because I had two offers, one at Lord Abbett (one of the countries oldest money management firms). The job was paying more money but is one of the most conservative companies in the country. Suit everyday, crazy amounts of work and over time, and an EXTREMELY stressful environment as I'd be helping to manage billions of dollars in assets. The other job, was the complete opposite. It's a very small company, only 100 people, and completely laid back. It's a relatively new company and because of this is an extremely young and fun type of place with a huge amount of growth potential. Eventually I choose the small company, because all though it doesn't have Lord Abbetts name or salary, I'll be much happier there and I'm extremely happy with my decision :hippie:

The job is perfect and everything I could wish for. I'll be working with a field I'm extremely and now I am back to my Dising :coffee: Sorry for the delay everyone!

Great news! Congrats on finding the RIGHT job!! And I am so happy that your commute time will be less as well...more time to update your TR! ;) Seriously though, congratulations! What a summer for you!! Thanks for checking in!!

I am so happy that the job thing worked out for you. I think things happen for a reason, and this was the job that you were meant to get. Can't wait to read more about your honeymoon. :) :)
