A Pirate and Princess Get Married...and Disneymoon! UPDATE 6/15 DAY 3 PART 2

CONGRATULATIONS KATE!!! Way to go on the job front! WOO HOO!!! I am so happy for you! I can see this leding ot your poor, poor, water tourtured husband having to swallow vomiting poison even more in the future! ;) HA HA HA More Disney!! :cool1: :cool1: At least I will assume you will be using some of the extra income to take more or longer Disney trips and then write more or longer trip reports. ;) See the progression here, I am okay with Jeremy having to throw up in order for me to get to read your trip reports.:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

I loved your last installment! What was a VIP babysitter? I love the hat you got. It's sassy and cute. Poor pirate, I was wondering how hot it got under that Mickey hat in such high temp. weather.

Don't leave us hanging for long...did a night of sleep cure the berry wine addled stomach?!

Thanks for this past installment. I enjoyed it. :woohoo:

Thank you so much! Yes, I already have my disney dreaming start of mind now. I'm trying to convince Jay to take a January trip so we'll see....You're too funny, oh to see Jeremy get that deer in head lights look again while enduring the shot in the doctor's office :lmao:

She was the VIP babysitter so she would babysit for all of the VIP'S/celebrities that visited the world. Robin Williams was her long time favorite of all of them. I used to spend summers with her and that's where I got hooked on the world.

Thanks for reading!

Congratulations :yay: on your new Job! Loved your last installment too. I guess really good straighting irons are just not made to last. I've had mine for a year payed $100 and it seems to have a power cord problem. It shuts off and on and doesn't stay hot :headache: . I will probably be getting a new one before our trip after reading about your adventure ;) .

Thanks so much! My flat irons never make it over about a year. The worst part of the whole cycle is that they do have a year warranty and they always break at a year and a month. It makes me crazy! I definitely say get one before you leave to avoid any fiascos!

That is exactly what we got! DF actually finds the Hades things to be pretty funny.

I thought we were the only ones who didn't like this! DF hates it. The only time I have seen the whole thing is when we had little kids with us.

Cocktails = :goodvibes

:rotfl: I am used to western malls, and I still hate this place!

:rotfl2: Like I am practically like crying from like laughing so hard.

OMG. I hope you were okay.

I am starting to countdown! Good to know about the ears! I don't think DF will keep them on except for when I make him for pics.

Haha that's ironic that you guys got the same thing. Western malls=scary. DH wasn't thrilled about the ears but he wore them to make me happy. I just noticed you started a pre-trip report- exciting!

Just catching up on the whole thing today... please add my congrats to the pile of others'!! :bride: :groom: Here's to many, many happy years together!

I also agree with Goofster; you should consider extending the TR to your adventures out West as well.

Looking forward to more,

Kathy

Thanks so much :bride:. I have decided to do the whole report :hippie:

First off Congratulations on the new job, we all knew you were going to get it.

Once exiting the heat had calmed down so we took it easy walking through the vineyard area and I decided to try a wine from the Napa Valley.

The patio area of the Winery is a really nice place to just sit back and watch the park go by.

Grand Californian hotel which is a less impressive version of the Wilderness Lodge, although it's nice in it's own charm, it just seems a bit older.

I would agree with you on that, I think a lot of the issue in Anaheim is they just don’t have the space. They have great ideas but have to scale them down to fit in the space that’s available.

45 minutes later we find ourselves in the car looking for Orange Street.

Orange Street?

The "block" at orange was a mall. This wasn't an ordinary mall. This was a mall from every bad CA show I've ever seen. I half expected the characters of the OC to start parading around.

It used to be a full blow indoor mall with some very big chain stores as anchors. Then back in the 70’s or 80’s it was decided that being that this is California we needed more “Outdoor” malls, thus Block of Orange. When it first opened it was pretty nice then the young hoodlums moved in and no self respecting person would be caught “Dead” as I recall I thing a few were found in that state. They went so far as to install metal detectors at the entrances for a while, finally the local police got control back, but the mall never recovered.

Let's just say this wasn't our thing. When looking back on LA I always thought it would be very similar to NY. I WAS WRONG! It was like NY'rs on drugs (no offense goofster). Everyone's happy and smiling and there's skating parks and so many people are blond and have plastic surgery work.

No offense taken, I was afraid that your observation was going to be worse that what it was. You must have been there on a good day.

picked up my flat iron. $200! At home it was practically half that.

They also aren’t know for competitive pricing

The sales girl blankly stared at us.

....."like what?"

This wasn't going to go over well.

She assisted the assistance of her co-worker

"like oh my god they want to pay using this weird thing and like what do I like do" scratching hair and biting lower lip.

Enjoying reading your report, I think as a tourist you should be eligible for some kind of award for going to Target and The Block with out a local guide and Interpreter

6:30 AM

I wake up with a jolt. Something isn't right. I get out of bed and feel severe abdonminable pain. What on earth? I haven't even had breakfast yet.

Suddenly I remember. Oh no, that god awful berry wine. This wasn't good. My stomach does not do well with foods it isn't used to. One of the lovely contributing factors to having IBS.

As usual, it's a struggle to wake up my doting husband.

ME Honey wake up......
JAY No...no I need at least 3 more hours
ME ::Growing impatient:: Come on honey, I need to eat something
JAY Really, go without me ::zzzzzz, zzzzzzzz::

A few idle ice cups threats later and we're on our way to Mimi's for some grub. I'm hoping this will sever the inevitable stomach fest that's growing nearer by the second.

In preparation I pop two imodium.

I decide french toast and coffee is surely the right medicine . Riiiiiiight.

Well, I'll spare you the details of what followed, but you can imagine. An hour and a half later we left for the park.

I had promised Jay I would go on Indiana Jones even though I'm terrified of rides like that but I was able to get around it because of my stomach ache. In all fairness to myself, it really wasn't the best thing at the moment.

We made our way through the world slowly before deciding to take a ride on the Haunted Mansion. I really liked the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland better. It had been updated and the whole bride message was much clearer. There was an added room which was an attic with all paintings/photos of brides and grooms and their deaths which was very technologically advanced and eery. Hopefully, they'll add these updates to the one in Disney World.

Jeremy, being my ghost host.

We made our way over to thunder mountain but the line was a bit long so we made our way to fantasyland. Fortunately, on our way our problem was solved

Pictures726.jpg

Not too shabby ay?

We went back in the fast pass line for Thunder Mountain and took a fun ride before deciding to make our way to Small World.

Small World is SOOO much cuter at Disneyland. Really, just look.

Pictures732.jpg

While we were on line a nice CM noticed that it was our honeymoon and gave us our own boat . The whole crowd applauded which was nice. Jeremhy and I had fun joking around. "Yes, we have officially succeeded in life and found a mate. We did it. Someone has found us bearable".

Having our own boat made the overall experience much nicer. There were some different scenes along the way and this one was my favorite.

Pictures765.jpg

After exiting the boat we made our way over to Tomorrowland to see Honey I Shrunk The Audience :3dglasses and then ride Buzz.

Pictures777.jpg

Sorry, don't remember the scores but as usual I did terrible and Jeremy made fun of me :sad2:

I needed some cheering up so ice cream was absolutely needed. We made our way over to Main Street and settled down. Nothing like eating this stuff guilt free.

Pictures782-1.jpg

We took our time eating and talked about our wedding and the adventures we were bound to endure over the next few weeks. Romance was truly in the air :cloud9:

We decided to make our way to DCA because there were still a few things we hadn't seen. On our way out we snapped a few shots.

Pictures794.jpg

The heat was really starting to bother me yet again so we made our way into the Bakery Tour which basically amounts to them giving you a piece of bread, a boring video and then being in front of a window watching people bake. I like food just as much as another person but this is considered an attraction. Please send paying customers over to my home and I'll be glad to microwave something up for them. Yes, that's right, microwave, you didn't think I cooked did you?

Pictures795.jpg

We went outside and decided, what the hey, it's over 100 degrees and I'm prone to heat stroke, surely the best thing to do would be to have a margarita. That went over well.

Next thing I know I'm stuck in the Animation Academy waiting the heat out with concerned CM's crowding around me asking if I need an ambulance. No, I assure them I'll be fine I'm just a jerk and eventually they go away. We decide to take a long respite here until the throbbing headache goes away before we take a gander at taking the walk back. Eventually we do make it back safely although this was not one of the highest memories of the trip.

However, all was well because we were about to meet the world's most effeminate Peter Pan!

I love the picture of Small World, it looks really cool. Sorry you almost had a heat stroke :scared: . So awesome that you got dream fastpasses.

Sorry to hear that you weren't feeling so well, but congrats on the dream fastpasses! :thumbsup2 Wow, what a time to win...on your honeymoon!

Small World and the Haunted Mansion look so different from the rides in WDW. I'm so excited to see them! We leave in less than 2 weeks! :woohoo:

Ugh, that is horrible to get sick there.

I love the new HM! I hope that is what they are doing with it closed in WDW right now.

Not too shabby ay?

YOU WON! Congrats! :cheer2:

Small World is SOOO much cuter at Disneyland. Really, just look.

I think the outside is much better at DL, too. But I heard hte inside of WDW was better since they redid it a few years ago. Thoughts?

Even if you can't remember it, it can't be worse than mine. One time I got like 300.

The bread tour takes too long for what you get. However, I find the tortilla place to be very worthwhile. No long movie or wait for your free food. :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for the congratulations. I really enjoyed the patio- it was so relaxing to just sit back with a nice glass of wine :cutie: I really did also like the Grand Californian but after staying at the Wilderness Lodge I'm actually happy we decided against staying there because I feel it would have been a bit disappointing. We thought the "block at orange" was a street. When we called the hotel front desk all we got was block orange, so we figured the girl just meant orange street. It's a shame it got so bad at that mall, I feel like it had potential but it was just so over the top. I will be accepting any and all awards

I love the picture of Small World, it looks really cool. Sorry you almost had a heat stroke :scared: . So awesome that you got dream fastpasses.

Small World was really fun. I can imagine what it must be like to be a child looking at the outside of it. It's like playland. The heat was scary!

Sorry to hear that you weren't feeling so well, but congrats on the dream fastpasses! :thumbsup2 Wow, what a time to win...on your honeymoon!

Sorry you got sick again.

It looks like I have a long lost twin! I really hope so too, the new haunted mansion is great. I loved the outside of Small World but I would agree that WDW is nicer. It seems there's much more going on at once, whereas in Disneyland there's portions of just empty space. Yes, I definitely am not a video game person, although Jay is crazy about them so it makes sense that I would do terrible. Looks like you're in the same boat as me. Now I know to skip the bread tour and go straight for the tortilla!

I had been toying around with the idea of getting the Japanese Hair Treatment for quite some time. For those of you who don't know this treatment takes hair that is curly and makes it straight by use of chemical. It works so well that when you get out of the shower it is immediately straight without any assistance.

A friend of mine has had it done several times in Queens because of the price break. Finally, I gave in and yesterday I took the trip. The overall process took NINE HOURS. Guess that's the price break, the service was TERRIBLE.

However, when done I washed my hair, brushed it and was DONE. Not bad compared to the usual two hour pattern I go through.

I know a lot of women have considered this so if anyone wants details PM me :goodvibes

Thanks so much. It was really fun having the fastpasses. You're going to have such a great time, are you going to do a TR?

I've been toying with the idea of a TR...I think I'm going to write one. But, if I do one, I'm think I may write about my whole trip! :goodvibes

I'm a newbie at writing trip reports, and I know I have lot to live up to after reading yours and some of the other great ones out there! ;)
