Hi Trev, thanks so much for the kind remarks! The honeymoon was absolutely dream like. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and the honeymoon sounds AMAZING! I hope you'll do a trip report as well!

Let me start by saying our wedding was wonderful. It was whimsical in every way a wedding should be, romantic and overall lovely. I can honestly say it was by far the happiest day of my life.

That being said, we did not arrive home from said wedding until midnight at which time we had to run to the nearest grocery store that had an ATM, deposit all of our checks, then come home and meet my parents who were picking up our dear pup followed by last minute packing. Let us not forget we had to wake up at 4AM to get in our cab.

Yes, so we got an hour of sleep.

So bear with me on our first day as it is EXTREMELY uneventful comparatively to the others. I considered omitting it but really for my and my new husband's purposes I want to relive every detail. So let us begin.

The morning of May 06th, 4:00AM:

beep.....beep....beep....BEEP...BEEP....BEEP....BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP

Jeremy::groaning:: Kate, turn off the alarm
Me: No...no, you
Jeremy: ::groggily gets up and turns off the alarm and falls back to peaceful slumber when....
Me ::dream like......oh, dreams, sleepy dreams about weddings and castles and Cinderella and.......and.:: OH S*it! Jeremy WAKE UP!!! WAKE UP!!!
Jeremy: What what???
Me: The plane, the plane!

A lovely start to our first married morning. The next half hour is a blur. Did I have time to wash my hair? NOOO. Now for you women who have had your hair done in curls with tons and tons of hair spray you know the pain I'm talking about here. Frenzied I have my flat iron trying to straighten through the curls, but no matter how many times I used that thing my hair was not going to comply. Finally, I just threw it all up.

Next was the morning packing. That was fun. I knew I'd have problems with my allergies, I knew we'd probably need some pain killers, stomach aids, allergy medications etc so I made sure to pack a pill container with them. Unfortunately that's exactly when the cab driver started beeping outside and sadly they never made it with us along with many other toiletries we were supposed to bring. Who's idea was it to leave the night after the wedding again?

Jeremy now cranky lugging all four of our suitcases out the cabby giving me dirty looks "Kate, we aren't going to need our WINTER jackets". Followed by my response "Jeremy there was a SNOW avalanche there a few weeks ago". Can't really argue that one.

We make our way into the cab and the cab driver starts making eye contact with me and talking in a strange language. Dumbfounded I stared at him....uhhh what?

Cabbie:
rusahed alaheij bouwej
Me: uhhh....what?
Cabbie rusahed alaheij bouwej!
MeI don't understand....?
Cabbie: You are not Lebanese?
Me: No...?
Cabbie Oh, you look Lebanese I marry you?
Me Umm, no sorry, we're actually going on our honeymoon
Cabbie Oh, you have sister?
Me ...no
Cabbie You have brother??
Me uhhh, yeah but he's married
Cabbie oh, too bad I not gay!

Well that was certainly an interesting conversation at 4:30 in the morning.

We made it through the security in Newark and made our way to our little waiting area. Jeremy happily looked around and noted no children. Now we LOVE children, well at least I do, but we've had a fair share of screaming infants behind us on flights or kicking children usually specifically behind Jeremy so we were happy to note this. Then it happened.

A group of about 40 teenagers sat down in our area. I wish I had a picture of Jeremy's face. He looked ABSOLUTELY horrified. Jason himself could have walked over with a chain saw and he would have been less fazed.

Finally we made it on the plane with all the lovely teenagers. Sleep? Not happening.

Uuugh, I think I'd take a screaming baby over obnoxious teenagers!!

Looking forward to more!

Oh no! not the teenagers! I feel your pain~! You are off to a great start, cant wait for more!!

I can't wait to read the rest of your trip report.

Congratulations to you and your HUSBAND! Isn't it funny saying that word!!??

Kim

:rotfl: :lmao: BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP! You already have me laughing my head off!! ;) Too bad for the cab driver Jeremy had snapped you up just the day before!!:lmao: :rotfl2:

I cannot wait for more!:thumbsup2

Wow, I can relate! I too, love kids. But...we always seem to get the screaming babies or rowdy teenagers seated right by us. :goodvibes Great start to your TR! :thumbsup2

I loved the Cabbie! What a riot!

We made the mistake of taking a morning flight the next day ourselves for our honeymoon. I think we are excited about getting there that we are not thinking clearly. We actually did not go to the bank that night though. I am not sure if there were ATM's in 1994. If so, we did not have a card. Now, I can't imagine living without an ATM card. Back in 1994, we signed all the checks and gave all the money to my parents with my bank info and they deposited it for us on Monday.

I can't wait to read more.

I loved all your pictures so far and the wedding looked fabulous. I am looking forward to hearing all the details...what a crazy morning!

What a nightmare with the teenagers. We had that once with a 8 hour flight it was a horrible. Wanted to kil them in the end but hey we were all teenagers once. Can't wait for more keep it comming!!!!popcorn::

Ugh, teenagers. We always end up with obnoxious teenagers by us in line everywhere. Of course, it is probably payback for how obnoxious I was when I was younger. :rotfl:

So, I am very glad we have a few days planned between the wedding and the honeymoon now. I thought it would seem weird, but it looks to be much less stressful now.
