You are already on page 3 of your TR? You are in turbo TR mode!
Yep, once I get started I like to finish them up quickly!
Isn't traveling to the west coast from the east the best? You get there and have a full day, and it is perfect for rD races since 3am feels like 6am!
Yes, that was awesome! The departure day was less awesome, but let's not focus on that.
That is pretty neat that you can rent a car right from downtown Disney for just half a day! So much better than trying to uber off property. I have never had In n Out before - so much hype over a burger place! Did it live up to your expectations?
I think my expectations were unrealistically high after hearing how amazing In-N-Out was for years, but it was really good!
The new InknBurn HQ is a little underwhelming

. I'm sure there is more to it than just your pic shows - did you get to go behind the scenes at all?
Yes I did! I saw the big room where they assemble everything, which was cool...along with some stuff that was in production and some older pieces.
I guess the expo wasn't crazy? My only rD experience at DL was for Star Wars in January and the line just to get into the merchandise area was insane!
I think it really depends on when you go - when I went back to the official merchandise area it was later in the afternoon, so it had died down by then!
The race shirt designs are cute, but I agree that the colors are weird. I do like the I Did It shirts you got (now wondering why you returned one...such suspense!). Side note - I always buy the I Did It shirt because I'm a sucker for having the race course on the back of the shirt, but I kinda wish it didn't say "I Did It!" across the front. Like if you are wearing a race shirt it can be assumed you did in fact finish the race. Anywho...
I LOVE the course maps! Maybe the bad race shirts were on purpose so we'd buy the other shirts??
Great picture with Mickey! I love me some
Disneyland (I was born in SoCal and actually worked 2 summers at DL) so I am looking forward to the rest of your trip!
I love it too! I love WDW as well but I think I may love both places equally.
Ok, I need to watch the original Guardians movie still because I've yet to see it before I get too far behind on the hoopla.
Meh. I really liked the opening scene but after that it didn't hold my attention at all.
You will see that Dole Whip was high on my priorities for my DL day...mmmmm....I really do enjoy those. So would you go back to soft serve or try the DW again? I do want to try the citrus swirl in WDW next time too.
Okay, did you know that
Happily Ever Tees has a Dole Whip shirt? I just ordered it the other day!
I think I am fully converted over to the pineapple soft serve. It was so good!
I've realized I NEVER ATE A CORN DOG ON MY TRIP!! Your fried food board reminded me of this. I guess all the fried foods looked better on the youtubes than they did once walking around inside the park. I still feel shame for forgetting.
I never did either! But I did get a churro and Dole Whip, so I think that evens it out.
Harveys! *swoon*
I know I'm local, but I haven't been to the new store. I really have to fix that.
*swoon* is right - I just saw their bags for
D23 and I think I kind of want the backpack! I don't have a backpack from them yet and I LOVE the Epcot patch on it!
Yay park time!!
I love that you got a button for your first Dole Whip. Such a good way to celebrate!

I thought so!
Okay, I'm not a ToT fan, but I have to say ... the Guardians ride just looks weird. I don't know if it's something related to the movie (which I haven't seen), but to me it just kinda looks ugly. Tower of Terror looked a lot less weird.
It does look weird. Especially since the building shape is still the same. I did like the colors at certain times of the day - the sun would hit it and make the colors look really nice - but overall I am just not a fan of Marvel having such a big presence in the park.
I think I remember hearing about changes to the menu at Paradise Garden Grill, but I don't remember when. I don't really pay attention to food stuff because I mostly can't eat it. But I definitely agree that it's annoying that they'd take away a unique menu for more fried garbage.
Also ... cupcakes are significantly healthier than anything fried. Because they're cupcakes and cupcakes are perfect. (They're actually very mentally healthy because they make people happy ... that's a thing, right??)
Yeah, I do sort of regret not doing some more research on the counter service options. I'm sure I missed some other good spots!
And yes...cupcakes are natures perfect food.

And this one did make me happy, which totally counts for something!
(Also, I love that "Internet Ariel" is now your actual name)

It seems appropriate!
Nice walk around the park. That menu at Paradise Garden Grill does not look good! We ate there in 2015 and it totally had better options! Pacific Wharf Cafe is super yum! That sourdough is the best! Don't blame you for staying on east coast time when it's a race weekend!
AHHH I know. It sounds like it may be temporary, so hopefully it'll be back to normal on my next trip! I was excited for it!!
Pacific Wharf WAS super yum, so at least by missing out on Paradise Garden Grill, I got to try Pacific Wharf instead!
I still imagined you as a mermaid...just one with a laptop that also somehow only grew legs for race weekends...
Well I never actually met you in person over the weekend, so who knows...you could be right!
Cupcakes, they are so light and tasty they must surely be negative calorie foods? That Paradise Garden Grill menu looked nasty!
I was so bummed! Like, really...corndogs are SO important that they had to take over a whole other CS location? (I probably just made a very controversial statement...)
As for Guardians, I've not seen the movies nor do I plan on it. Not a superhero blockbuster movie fan. ToT was about as perfect ride as you could get, spot on theming, nostalgia, awesome ride story, and the thrill part being awesome but never as bad as you imagine it would be. Looking forward to trying the WDW version later this year.
YES, I am totally with you. You will LOVE the WDW version - it's got just a bit more going on than the DL version did. It's awesome!
They were renovating the Corn Dog Castle while you were there and unfortunately, the Paradise Grille is the temporary spot until they finish. Those darn tourists (like myself!) who can't get enough of their corn dogs! It's a bummer you missed out on their usual rotating menu; they usually have really yummy choices. It's one of my personal favorite places to stop for a bite.
ARRRG! Well thank you for letting me know - clearly I did not do my research! I am glad to hear that it is temporary!

It'll be on my list for sure the next time I go back to DL!
