Day 4
Tuesday April 28

Back in January we stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for a few days. I bought a souvenir mug at the resort gift shop. Tony usually buys a t-shirt or two every time we visit Disney. Tony mentioned that I should get a mug for all of the resorts we have stayed at. Hmmm, what a good idea! So, today was the day we decided to do a little resort hopping to start my mug collection! We were also looking forward to taking a ride on the Monorail as well as seeing the resorts we haven’t been to in several years including the Contemporary and the Caribbean Beach Club.

This morning we headed down to the Yacht Club’s table service restaurant, Captain’s Grille for breakfast at about 10 am. It was nice to see that there was no line up or wait for a table. Things were fairly quiet, which was a nice change. We decided to have the buffet breakfast. Here are a couple pictures of the buffet.

Yum! Pastries!

CG%20Buffet%204.JPG

I tend to like having sweet things for breakfast, so I started out with the ever popular Mickey waffles.

CG%20Mickey%20Waffle.JPG

Then I had a couple of pastries with coffee and orange juice

CG%20Pastries.JPG

Tony is a bacon and egg man, so had filled up on scrambled eggs as well as toast and apple juice.

We decided to take the boat to Epcot rather than walk today. Our timing was good again today because the boat was already there and ready to head over to Epcot. We stopped along the way to take a few pictures as well as get a couple fastpasses for Soarin' just in case we happen to be around at that time. We took the monorail to the ticket and transportation station.

Oh, we got the GOLD monorail!
Monorail%20Epcot.jpg

Then we took the resort monorail to our first stop, the Contemporary. It was strangely quiet on the monorail today, and we had the car to ourselves!

Monorail%20Empty.jpg

Monorail%20Cont.jpg

Although the Contemporary is a little dated looking, it is still one of my favourite resorts that we have stayed at. Back in 2000 had a great top floor pool/lake view room and best of all, a great bathroom! We went straight to the Contemporary gift shop to find my mug. Well, there were no resort mugs! I couldn’t believe it! There goes my complete collection of resort mugs.:confused3 On the way out we stopped in at the arcade because we had a card for 30 minutes of game time. I am a Ms. Pacman maven if I do say so myself! Tony likes the Nascar game.

Tony%20Nascar.jpg

We are both pretty competitive, and we have a long standing feud to settle who the best air hockey player is. Admittedly, he has won ever game we ever played, but I didn’t make it easy for him! But I have to say, I am much better at mini golf! (more on that later!) We didn’t end up playing today, but the feud will be settled next time!

Mickey outside the Contemporary

Mickey%20Contemp.jpg

Next, we took the boat over to the Wilderness Lodge. On the way out, we took a couple pictures of the new Bay Lake Tower.

BLT%20Back1.jpg

BLT%20Front.jpg

On the way to the Wilderness Lodge we met up with a stranded woman in a sea raycer. We pulled up next to her and our boat Captain radioed for help. She wasn’t the least bit concerned about being stranded and was actually enjoying the scenery and floating around!

Boat%20WL.jpg

Ahh, the Wilderness Lodge.
WL.jpg

We loved staying here during the Christmas season last year. We walked past our old room on the way to the lobby and realized that our room number was the same as our room at the Yacht Club! We wondered around the gift shop for a bit and I found a cute t-shirt and of course, my resort mug!

After wandering the Wilderness Lodge for a bit we headed out to the bus stop to get a bus to Hollywood Studios, then another bus to our next resort, The Caribbean Beach Club. We stayed in Aruba way back in 1994. We decided to go over to Old Port Royale(the Caribbean Beach Club’s counter service area) for lunch.

CBR.jpg

Oops, I almost forgot to take a picture of my lunch! I had Pizza, cranberry juice and a chocolate chip cookie.

OPR%20Pizza.JPG

Tony had a burger, fries, coke and chocolate chip cookie.

OPR%20Cheeseburger.JPG

I liked my pizza, Tony wasn’t thrilled about his burger, but it was edible. After lunch we went into the gift shop to start hunting for my mug! I found a mug and Tony bought a t-shirt. Mission accomplished! We walked over to Aruba to try to remember what room we stayed in, but we couldn’t remember. It was nice to go back after all these years and see the very first resort we stayed at!:yay:

We took the bus back over to Epcot and went on Spaceship Earth. I liked that ride! It was fun! However it did stop part way through a couple times and we were stuck there for a few minutes before it started up again. Next we went on Soarin' and used the fastpasses we got earlier.

Soarin%20Sign.jpg

It’s the second time we have been on Soarin' and both times we were in the front row, so that was nice. I loved going over those waves and the smell of the orange grove! Next we decided to try out the Living the Land ride. It was kind of interesting, and frankly, we were so tired that it was nice to just sit back for a while on a quiet ride.

We were getting pretty tired by this time so we decided to go back to the room and rest for a little bit before we come back to watch Illuminations and I beat Tony at mini golf again(maybe)!:thumbsup2

Up next: Illuminations, putt putt, the great ice cream hunt!

Carol17,

Really enjoying your trip report. My daughter and I will definately have to try a resort hopping day next trip!! :thumbsup2

Totally enjoying your trip report...you guys sound like you vacation a lot like we do, you take your time and enjoy more than only the parks.

Love your resort tour and how you used all the modes of transportation to get around. I would really like to try that on one of my trips!

Carol17,

Really enjoying your trip report. My daughter and I will definately have to try a resort hopping day next trip!! :thumbsup2

Hi My Buddy Baloo. Yes, it was actually a nice afternoon and fun to see the different resorts! I highly recommend taking a day away from the parks and discovering what the resorts have to offer. Thanks for reading along!

Day 4
Tuesday April 28 continued

O.k. Where were we? Ah yes, we rested for a bit before heading back to Epcot for a walk around the World Showcase and to see Illuminations. This will be our first time seeing Illuminations because every other time we planned to go I ended up getting sick! So, it looks like we’re finally going to make it this time! Our first stop of course was Canada!

Canada.jpg

Although we have seen the movie a few times, we always go to see it again just because we are Canadian! We feel we HAVE to see it! I have to admit, I feel proud to be Canadian after seeing the movie. We have a beautiful country and I have been lucky enough to have seen it from coast to coast! We stopped in at the gift shop on the way out. I always want to buy so much in there! I found the cutest little moose with a Canada jacket on. I have no idea how it started, but I have started called my cat (Marty) Moose or Moosey. So, I felt I HAD to buy the Canadian moose! However, I have already bought a couple t-shirts and a few mugs, so that is enough souvenirs for this trip!

Next, we took the little boat ride through Mexico. The restaurant area was so pretty as we floated by! I loved the pretty lighting and the atmosphere. But I have to ask, what is the deal with the smell of the water at all of the water/boat rides? Anyway, after wandering for a bit we decided we better head out to find a decent spot to watch Illuminations. We found a pretty good spot(meaning we could see the show AND have a fence to lean on for an hour while we wait, and have a fairly quick exit out the International Gateway) not too far from the Canada pavilion. As Tony stayed in our spot, I went to find a little snack. Tony’s eyes lit up when he saw me show up with this. popcorn::

Beer%20and%20Popcorn.JPG

So we shared our snack as we waited for Illuminations to begin. Now, let’s see if our pictures are any better than the ones from Wishes.

Illuminations.jpg

Illuminations2.jpg

Illuminsation1.jpg

Hmmm, not bad pictures if I do say so myself!

It was great to finally see the show. We both enjoyed it, but we agreed that we prefer Wishes.

Right after the show we walked over to the Boardwalk. Tony had read about a place that sells foot long hotdogs, so he made a beeline for the Boardwalk To Go kiosk to get his hot dog and fries. The Boardwalk was fairly busy with lots of people out and about eating and watching a street magician. We finally found a bench to sit on to eat and just take in our surroundings. We were so engrossed in eating and looking around that we did the unthinkable…we forgot to take a picture of the hot dog! Awww man, not again! We didn’t even get any pictures of the Boardwalk! I don’t know what we were thinking! Sorry! Not very good trip reporting is it?

Next, we were off to our mini golf showdown. You see, on every trip we play mini golf, and every time, I win…well, except last time. Last time we tied. So I was determined make sure I regain my winning title. Things were pretty much even until this

Tony’s hole in one.
Hole%20in%20one.jpg

Pffft. So what. I can get a hole in one too!
Carol%20Golf.jpg

Oh no! I made a mess out of this hole. This isn’t good.

Golf1.jpg

Golf4.jpg

Tony had the score card and wrote 4 on a hole I got 3 on. HEY! Wait a minute! What are you trying to pull?! I’m not sure if he did it on purpose or not, but you can bet I kept a close eye on the score card after that!

Golf5.jpg

Golf2.jpg

So we get to the second last hole, I make the putt….it is heading straight for the hole….it’s rolling fast….a little to the left...it’s in! :yay:Then the ball popped back out again! WHAT! AWW man! No fair! (I know, exactly how old ARE we?) So, fair is fair, I had to take another putt on that hole.

Golf6.jpg

So after the game we head over to a bench to sit down and add up the score. I don’t think I won. Shoot. So as Tony counted aloud, I counted along over his shoulder. He got 49. Now let’s see what I got: Here is our score card:

Golf%20Card.jpg

We tied. Or did we? Now, if you look really closely. There is a miscalculation. As Tony counted my score aloud, I followed along, and I thought he miscounted in my favour! I kept quiet about it, and thought I would recount it later. So as far as he knows, we tied. No harm done right? Just a little white lie…what he don’t know won’t hurt him…right?:rolleyes1

So after the game, we walked back over to the Boardwalk to get some ice cream before going back to our room. At the Market Place we saw a Nestle Tollhouse cookie ice cream. Yum! That looks gooood! :pWe don’t have those in Canada! We also saw it in a shop on the Boardwalk, so we thought hey, let’s get one of those cookies on the way back! A nice bedtime snack! So we go into the store and head straight for the freezer. Hey! Where did they go? :confused:They are all gone! Awww! So we decided to try getting them at the Market Place. We only had about 10 minutes to get there before closing, so we power walked(too tired to run!) our way to the Beach Club. Wouldn’t ya know it, they were sold out too!:sad2: I can’t believe it! Just a day ago there were tons….now there are none! So, we had to settle for these instead.

Ice%20Cream.JPG

They were good, but not as good as we imagined the Tollhouse Cookie to be. Oh well, maybe next time. So we slowly made our way back to the room and collapsed into bed having had a great day, a tied golf game (or so Tony thinks) and a tummy full of ice cream. Not bad!

p.s. Not to worry, my conscience was bothering me over not telling Tony the truth about the golf game. He won. As much as it pained me, I did end up confessing in the car on the way home. It was the right thing to do. Sheesh, darn conscience, it drags me down sometimes! :thumbsup2

Up next...A day at Epcot and Coral Reef

I feel the same way regarding the fireworks...I prefer Wishes over Illuminations, however I feel bad about that since Illuminations is dipicting the world coming together as one. It seems a little more important you know what I mean?

As far as the mini golf goes...that darn conscience gets me every time too!!!

I usually lurk on TR - but wanted to pop in and say - love your TR and your pics!! Thanks for taking the time to share!! I also can relate to your sub status - its a hard underappreciated job!!

Hi Sandy. Thanks for stopping by to read my TR! Ginger huh? Well, I do tend to go for ginger ale when my stomach is queasy. Perhaps the ginger pills would be helpful! Thanks for the suggestion!:)

Hello NMW...thanks for reading!

Day 5
Wednesday, April 29th
:sunny:

This morning’s alarm clock came courtesy of a kid screaming in the hall along with the grass being cut outside our window. For some reason the alarm clock radio is not illuminated so I relied on Tony to wake me up in the morning. I decided to snooze for just a couple more minutes when I hear Tony say, “Are you awake?”
“Hrmph” was all the only reply I could muster. Admittedly, I do tend to be a little grumpy in the morning. I do not like being told to get up. I am one who needs to ease into waking up and crawling out of bed. So needless to say, Tony did not enjoy the job of “waking the giant” in the morning. Apparently this is the reason he bought me this t-shirt:

Grunpy%20Shirt.jpg

So as I began to psych myself up to the big task of getting out of bed, Tony said,
“Guess what time it is.” I assume that it must be late if he is asking me, so I said,"9:30”.
“Nope, 11:15am.”

“11:15! Holy crap!” :scared1:This is bad…even for me. We missed breakfast. Who sleep in till 11:15 in Disney World?! How shameful! So I scurried out of bed trying to make up for lost time. I had a quick shower and we were quickly out the door and heading to Epcot by noon. NOON! Outrageous!

Despite the time, I was still in the mood for something “breakfasty”, so I got a coffee and Danish at a little place outside the Canada pavilion called E.C. Jeffries(or is it Joffries…I can’t read my own trip report notes!) Sorry, no picture for this one, I felt like I had to hurry and eat up to make up for sleeping in so late and losing precious time! As I sat and ate, Tony walked over to Test Track to get fast passes. He also snapped a few pictures along the way of the beautiful flowers:

Flowers1.jpg

Flowers3.jpg

I'm a little tea cup...:rolleyes1

one more time! I'm a little teacup...

So after I finish my coffee and danish, we walked by Canada and took a couple shots:

Canada1.jpg

Canada2.jpg

Canada3.jpg

As we went through Canada, I was tempted to run in and get that cute little moose I saw yesterday….but I didn’t.

Now Tony was starting to get hungry, so he decided to get something at the Electric Umbrella. It was very busy in there, so as he stood in line for 20 minutes, I wondered around on the hunt for a table.

EU%20Line%202.JPG

After about 10 minutes of searching, I finally landed a table. Now, where is Tony? How am I going to tell him where I am? What if he can’t find me? Eventually he appeared, slowly scanning the room as I wave my arms trying to get his attention without getting EVERYONE’s attention! :confused3 He decided on his typical fare of a burger, fries and Coke.

EU%20Cheeseburger.JPG

So after my very late breakfast, and Tony’s lunch, we were ready to continue our tour of Epcot! We headed over to Test Track, but it was shutdown. So we decided to do yet another “new to us” attraction, Ellen’s Energy Adventure Ride. It was a pretty neat attraction, and I was surprised by the size of the vehicle we moved around in. We went back to Test Track and things were back in business!

TestTrack.jpg

Our next “new to us” attraction was trying out the Kimpossible Adventure. For those who haven’t heard of this new scavenger hunt type game, here is a short explanation of it:

“Using the latest technology, Disney’s Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure invites guests of all ages to become secret agents, teaming up with members of Team Possible to save the world from various comical villains and their mad inventions. As guests embark on this international adventure, they will receive an official “Kimmunicator,” at kiosks throughout Epcot. The interactive, handheld device is designed to help them maneuver through the mission. The interactive device connects guests with a variety of Kim Possible characters who provide clues to stop villains from taking over the world, control top-secret equipment hidden inside the World Showcase pavilions. Guests can play in seven of the World Showcase pavilions: Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Japan, France and United Kingdom. Each pavilion features a unique mission including distinctive visual events and a different super villain from the animated series.”

We were given a ticket that said to go to Italy to get our kimmunicator.

Kimunicator1.jpg

Our first mission was Germany. We followed a series of clues and completed the game in about 20 minutes. We did notice a few others walking around with their kimmunicators as well. I’m sure those of us doing the game looked pretty silly to people who don’t know about the game yet. We frequently stood around looking down at something that looks like a cell phone and listen intently as we receive our clues. We also go into various shops and go hunting around for our clues, seemingly staring at random things on the ceiling waiting for something to happen! Very often other people would stop and try to figure out what you are staring at for so long!:snooty:

We decided we would try another mission, this time in the U.K. As we walked over, they were setting up for Illuminations, so we had to wait for the drawbridge to go down.

Bridge.jpg

When we got to the U.K. we had to go into the little tea shop and tell a CM a secret phrase(I forget what it was) in order to get the answer for a clue. However, it was so busy in there, we just didn’t want to bother the CM who was busy helping customers. We knew we were looking for a four letter word for a type of tea. All I could think of was Earl(grey)! I looked around at the various teas, but couldn’t find one that was four letters. However, we discovered that the kimmunicator only accepted certain letters. So we figured out it was the letters ACIH. OH! Chai! Of course! Silly me! We were a little frustrated at this point because we were wondering around in a small, busy store probably getting in everyone’s way. Needless to say, we were glad to get out of there and on to our next clue.

It was a fun little game, but it can be a little difficult to maneuver around and find what you are looking for when it is crowded. Nonetheless, it was sorta fun and we will probably try out the other countries on our next visit.

Here is a link to a video of the kimmunicator in action if you are interested:

http://www.screamscape.com/html/wdw_-_epcot.htm

So after our adventure, I was pretty thirsty! So, this is what I got:

Strawberry slushie…..yum!
Strawberry%20Slush.JPG

Next we went on Maelstrom which had a very short wait of just a couple minutes.
Maelstrom.jpg

So, next up, we tried out more “new to us” rides: Figment and The Seas with Nemo and Friends, both pretty cute rides!

The%20Seas.jpg

We were starting to get pretty hungry, but our reservations at Coral Reef was still a couple hours away, so we went back over to Spaceship earth again, then took a few more pictures of the beautiful flowers and topiaries.

Mickey%20Flowers.jpg

Simba.jpg

Now we were REALLY hungry, and pretty tired and hot! So we decided to head over to Coral Reef and see if we can get in a little early!

Up next….little white lie and eating with the fishies![/

Day 5
Wed. April 29 continued

O.k. I guess it is confession time once more. As many of you know, it can be pretty difficult to get ADR’s for a table for two. When booking our ADR’s back in January, we were unable to get into Le Cellier or Coral Reef. However, I had read on the DIS boards that some people(you know who you are!) have been booking tables for 4 instead of two because there are more tables for four than tables for two, and many restaurants will not book two people at a table that is for four. Are you following me so far? So, when you go to the restaurant, you tell them that the other two people couldn’t come( they were sick, hit by lightening, whatever). So, I thought I would give it a try. Well, it worked. We got an ADR at Coral Reef for 4 people. Yes, I felt a little bad about it. :sad1:

So here comes the requisite justification for lying. I wanted to get into Coral Reef! We have tried to get ADR’s for Le Cellier and/or Coral Reef many times. Since it is just for two people, we are at a distinct disadvantage. We have always called at least 70-80 days out, but always got a big fat NO. It could have just been bad timing sometimes (during the Christmas season, a particularly busy day etc). Nonetheless, I decided to take the advice of a DISer and improve our chances of getting in. So, how do you think it worked out when we arrived at Coral Reef without the other two people for our table for four? Read on!

CR%20Sign.jpg

We decided to go to Coral Reef a little early because we were pretty tired and very hungry! We were given a buzzer so we decided to wait outside where it was quieter, had a place to sit and was a lot less crowded than inside. I wanted to lie down on the nice grassy area outside the entrance in the shade, but Tony preferred sitting on a bench.

CR%20Waiting.JPG

As I was sitting in the grass enjoying the shade and the flowers, a very handsome fellow peaked out from the flowers to say hello!

CR%20Bunny3.JPG

It was so nice to watch the little bunny nibbling away on the grass. Part of me wanted to show everyone around me this cute little guy, but then again, I didn’t want the kids running up and scaring him away! I wanted to keep him all for myself. I did get Tony’s attention and he snapped a couple more pictures of him.

CR%20Bunny1.jpg

All together now….Awwww…so cute!

CR%20Bunny.jpg

Eventually he was noticed by others and he got scared off.

After waiting for about an hour, we were called in at 7:25 for out 7:10 reservation. We were seated at a nice booth up on the second level. Then, it happened. The waiter asked,
“Are the other two people coming?”
Shoot.
Tony quickly replied, “Oh, no, they couldn’t make it.”
He hesitantly said, “Oh, ok, I see.”
I felt bad. I knew he knew we were scammers. Then he came back. He started to tell us that they have a table for two for us. I thought, well, we are busted. He is going to throw us at a bad table in a corner somewhere with no view of the tank. Well, we deserve it for lying I guess. We got up to follow him, and where are we seated? Right at the Tank! We couldn’t believe it. How (undeservedly) lucky are we? So we decided to celebrate our good fortune with a drink! When our waitress came to take our drink order she apologized for the noise. Apparently she felt it was especially crowded and noisy tonight.

I got the ever popular GLOWTINI!

CR%20Glotini.JPG

It was very tasty! I could have had a few of those! I loved the little dolphin and of course the glow cube. I took it out of my glass to take it home much to Tony’s chagrin. He didn’t think I was supposed to be taking it, but for the cost of the drink, that glow cube was mine! After checking with the drink list, the cube was indeed a “souvenir” to be taken! Yeah! They have a little button on the bottom that you push to change colours and to turn it off. Tony had a Bud:

CR%20Beer.JPG

Now, Tony and I are not seafood fans. So why would we go to Coral Reef? Well, I mainly wanted to go for the atmosphere! We had reviewed the menu online, and Tony agreed to go because they had his favourite meal…caesar salad and steak. It seemed to take a long time for the Caesar salad to come. Next thing you know, our meals arrived. Oh. Ummmm, no salad? Eventually our waitress returned and we told her we never got the salad. She was very apologetic, and offered to give Tony his beer for free. So, that was nice. No biggie.

CR%20NY%20Steak.JPG

Although I like a good steak too, I decided to try the pork tenderloin with green beans and sweet potatoes.

CR%20Grilled%20Pork%20Tenderloin.JPG

Tony really enjoyed his steak. It was perfectly cooked. He also liked the potatoes, but there weren’t enough of them! I of course ate his tomatoes.

I enjoyed my meal as well. The pork was tender and tasty. There was a bit too much sauce on it (I think it was some kind of pecan sauce if I recall correctly) and I’m not really a fan of sweet potatoes. The beans were nice, but again, not enough of them(and they were a little undercooked for my taste).

We enjoyed our meal as we watched the fish slowly swim around :fish:

CR%20aquarium.jpg

Fish2.jpg

Next up is dessert! Tony decided to try out the Bailey’s Jack Daniels chocolate moose.

CR%20Bailey's%20and%20Jack%20Daniel%20Mousse.jpg

I had The Chocolate Wave….as Rachael Ray would say, it was YUMMO!

CR%20Chocolate%20Wave.JPG

Overall, we enjoyed our dinner at the Coral Reef. Our only complaint would be the incredibly slow service. For some reason we seemed to be easily forgotten…or ignored…one or the other. We saw so many people around us come and go while we were still waiting for our waitress to show up. She was certainly nice enough, but we rarely saw her!

We finally made it out of there in time to make it to the International Gateway before the Illuminations crowd dispersed. We went back to our room to change and head over to Jellyyrolls on the Boardwalk. But, once we got to the room, we made the fatal mistake of sitting down. Then we laid down. Then we just couldn’t get up! We were really looking forward to going to Jellyrolls, but just decided that yet again, we were just too tired. However we did make it downstairs to the gift shop to add to our ever growing t-shirt and mug collection! Can you ever have too many t-shirts or mugs? Well, yes, you can actually. We definitely have too many shirts and mugs!

So, after a very bad (late) start this morning, I think we had a really good day. Perfect weather yet again, we did lots of new things, and we ended the day with a great dinner at Coral Reef. What more could we ask for?:thumbsup2

UP NEXT… going wild and “When you're alone and life is making you lonely, you can always go – DOWNTOWN!”

Day 6
Thursday April 30

Well, it’s Thursday. I am starting to feel the dreaded our-vacation-is-almost-over blues. So after having slept in the past two mornings, we wanted to get up at a decent time today to make the most of our last two days here at Disney. Today was Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney day! We got off to a great start this morning by having a nice breakfast at the Captain’s Grille around 9:00.

I had the yummy french toast as well as my usual coffee and orange juice

CG%20French%20Toast.JPG

Tony had poached eggs

CG%20Poached%20Eggs.JPG

After breakfast we headed out to the bus stop to go to the Animal Kingdom. We were pleasantly surprised to see we had the whole bus to ourselves! We made a quick stop at Blizzard Beach, then on the Animal Kingdom.

AK%20Sign.jpg

Of course, like many others, we made a beeline to Expedition Everest for fast passes. We then went to Kilimanjaro Safari. Now, we have been on the safari twice. Once back in 2007, then again in January of this year. We ended up having the same driver both times! So we were very excited to see if we would have our buddy yet again! He was a great driver, very friendly, had a great voice, and was very knowledgeable.

The wait time was at 50 minutes, but it was really only a wait of about 20 minutes! I love it when that happens! While waiting in line we were able to see several drivers…but not “our” driver. So, our truck finally arrived, and it looks like we have a new driver!

So, here are a few pics of all the animals!

The last time we were on this ride, the Yeti wasn’t there! It was just some kind of projection. So we wondered if the good old Yeti was back. Well, he wasn’t. I wonder what is up with that. Perhaps he was out getting a soft ice cream cone! Hmmm….good idea! It was pretty hot today and we both really wanted a soft ice cream. However, I had to wait a bit after Expedition Everest. I always come off that coaster feeling a little queasy for a bit. So, we wondered around for a while and snapped a few pics.

One fish two fish red fish blue fish!

“Haven’t you always wanted a Mon-key!”

Ice cream time! We didn’t get a picture of the ice cream because it was melting so fast! We found a seat outside of Finding Nemo to sit and eat…make that INHALE our ice cream. It just so happened that the Finding Nemo show was starting shortly, so Tony wanted to get in there so we wouldn’t have to wait for the next show. So, as usual, Tony downed his ice cream in 4 bites, then proceeded to stare me down while I try to eat my ice cream. You see, I never eat fast enough for him. I always feel rushed when I eat with him. He always inhales his food then watches me. Hate it. So, as the line up is going in for Nemo, I am choking down my ice cream, and Tony is tapping his foot and looking at his watch. So, I had to throw out the rest of my ice cream so we could get into Finding Nemo on time.

Nemo was yet another “new to us” attraction. You know, we have been to WDW 5 times, and it amazes me that there is so much that we still haven’t done! Nemo was a nice little show. I liked the bubbles at the end…nice touch! So, another attraction we can scratch off our to–do list.

After Nemo we went on Dinosaur. I like Dinosaur! I like fast rides in the dark! It is a little too bumpy though.

It was about 2:00 and we were getting hungry again! So we had lunch at Restaurantosaurus. We had the usual hotdog and fries, and the tasty chocolate cake.

We decided to go back to the hotel and rest for a bit before going to Downtown Disney. We had a pretty long wait for the bus back(we usually do at A.K. for some reason) and the bus was packed. We decided to get off at the first stop, The Swan, and walk back to the Yacht Club. When the bus is that packed, I prefer to walk!

We had a short rest, freshened up and headed back out to Downtown Disney! We decided to drive there as we had enough of the bus for one day. It was PACKED at DTD! We were surprised at how busy it was. We did have a 7:00 ADR at T-Rex, but neither of us were all that hungry, so we decided to skip it this time.

We meandered around a bit, dodging the crowds. We went into the all mighty World of Disney Store, and managed to get out without buying anything.

However, I did have to go to Goofy’s Candy Co. to get my cotton candy. It’s so bad, but it’s so good too!

We also stopped into the store with all the crystal figurines. There were so many beautiful things to choose from, but I finally decided to buy this one:

Just kidding! It’s beautiful, but do you see the price of it!?

We popped into Earl of Sandwich to see how busy it was. We considered going there before, but the line up was always too long for impatient us! This time, it was worse than ever. I cannot image standing in line that long for a sandwich. I know, I know, they are good sandwiches, but still…not gonna do it! Luckily, Tony and I are pretty much always in agreement over what is worth standing in line for, and what isn’t.
I loved the look of the Raglan Road restaurant! I think we will try going there next time!

We also planned to try out the new hot air balloon, but it was closed down due to weather. Weather? What weather? It’s clear and beautiful out here! Perhaps it was a little too breezy.

So, instead of the balloon ride, we had a little snack at Wetzel’s pretzels. I had a pepperoni pizza pretzel.

Tony just had a plain soft pretzel.

We sat outside by the water as the sun was starting to set, and we listened to a guitarist playing outside. It was very nice to sit by the water listening to music while we munched on our snack!

On the way out Tony decided he needed more t-shirts, because goodness knows, he hardly has any (note the sarcasm)! He bought a couple at the House of Blues store. Before leaving we went into the Virgin Megastore to look at the cd’s and audio books. Every time we drive down to Florida, I go to the library to see if there are any good audio books to listen to on the way down. Tony likes to listen to stand up comedians, so on previous trip we have listened to Dennis Miller, Denis Leary, Lewis Black etc, as well as books like Mick Foley’s “Have a Nice Day”(It was pretty entertaining actually! Who would have thought a wrestler could be so witty!) and “Into the Wild” by Jon Krakauer.
This time I was hoping to get Michael J.Fox’s new audio book “Always Looking Up”. However, we didn’t find it or any other audio books that we were interested in. So, we just had a few cd’s to listen to on the way home, as well as whatever radio station we could get as we traveled through each State. Oddly enough, there was an inordinate amount of Journey being played on the radio all the way home! Go figure!

So, after one last look around, we decided to head back to the hotel. I was really starting to feel that impending doom feeling. Only one more day left. Pretty soon we have to start the dreaded procedure of packing everything up again, and getting ready for the long drive home. We arrived back in our room around 9:30 and settled in to watch good old Stacy on t.v. We have a big day tomorrow, so we need to get some sleep. Tomorrow is our full day tour “Backstage Magic”.

I know that feeling.....that "oh no my vacation's almost over feeling". I hate it. Absolutely hate it! You really should post your food pictures over on the Disney Food Picture thread. Loving all the updates and look forward to reading more.
