A Nice Surprise

Today, I chatted with a CM and had our points loaded onto our resale contract. When we bought the contract, the listing stated that 2022 had 0 points. When the points were loaded, 2022 had 162 points. It was a nice surprise. Just booked our trip and we couldn't be more excited.

Anyone else have something cool like this when you bought resale?

Same thing happened to me this month! Was supposed to have 0 and it had banked points from 2021 and 2022. The CM banked my 2022 points even though it was a week or so past the deadline. Won’t be able to use the 2021 ones so am trying to rent them out. A nice surprise!

Because of the extra points, we extended our trip by a day and we will have more than 100 points we can bank for our next trip. I’m hoping to use those points to help treat one of our friends and their family and have them join us next time. It seems a lot of the families we are meeting that have kids the same age as our boys haven’t done Disney yet. Hopefully a free room will help with the sticker shock.

Yes, it happened several times but not as many as you got - congrats!

When I bought in 2011 I found out that my contract had around 80 points in holding. I was planning a trip about 6 days after everything loaded and had a cash reservation at one of the new value resorts, so I cancelled the cash reservation and checked out the availability during that time. I was able to use all of the points in a SS studio and an OKW 1 BR and saved a boatload of cash on the original reservation.
