Ok, well I can't take it anymore. After being on this board for 6 weeks I HAVE to do one of these! I've become an addict to this board and the reports. I may need a 12 step program from this.

I warn you I type fast and write a lot!!!

First of all, we are a cast of 3.

DH is a ride lover, but not disney obsessed. 33 years old. Newly lost 50lbs and I HATE HIM for it. Actually, he looks wonderful, but we're nearing the same weight, if he reaches it I may have to kill him. He loves toys, and I worry more about him buying big electronics than I do him having an affair.

DD turning 4 on our trip. Her name is Gabby and I always say I should've named her "Silence." She talks incessantly. Haven't figured out how to close the mouth sometimes. Sings a fabulous version of "bad day." Born 2 months early and 3 lbs, fortunately is thriving. I know everyone's child is brilliant, but this kid is disturbing. She has a memory like I've never seen (actually remembers details from LAST Easter) and a vocabulary that blows people away. Too smart for her own good.

ME. :surfweb: I will be 32 by our trip. I'm a career changer, now I teach 7th grade. :teacher: Yup, I said it 7th! I love it. Best thing I ever did. Money bites but love that age. They are a riot, emotional, and curious. I guess I'm really a 7th grader. I love Disney but when we planned our honeymoon there, I knew nothing. We had hopper passes a room and that's it. No ADRs, no characters, no deluxe resort. If I could do it again, WHOA, it would be different. Don't get me wrong if you're in love a honeymoon is wonderful, but I should've done more.

So, Hopefully, you've actually read this far and are wondering how this Disney trip came about. I've always loved Disney and when I was pregnant we took a short trip to Universal. Had a nice time, but realized THE MAGIC was missing. After looking at all the families, I knew I had to come back with the child I was carrying.

Considering the following: we moved, I went back to school and got a Masters, hated the 1st district I was in, This was our first chance, and it almost didn't happen...

Money is VERY tight. We live in the Boston area and it's ridiculous around here. A house in another part of the country for 200k goes for 400k here. We also knew we were getting ready to consider child #2. I made DH promise no #2 till we take DD to WDW.

Finally, found out what Uncle Sam was giving us back...it wasn't enough. I was devastated. Then we realized there was a little retirement account doing nothing, with just enough for a family trip. DH hated my heartbreak and told me to do it. (AND I KNOW ABOUT TAKING FROM EARLY RETIREMENT>If you're tempted to lecture, I beg of you...don't.):sad2:

So first, we were looking at the Dolphin, I'm a teacher so I get a silly low rate for the summer:rotfl: I even booked it for 6 nights. Then I started calculating where we wanted to eat and how much it would cost!!!!!:rotfl2: HOLY CRAP!!!
Since all I did every weekend morning for a year was price WDW online I told DH when you added it all up we could DDP for the same money at WL-WHERE We've always wanted to stay...got a glimpse on our honeymoon and fell in love. Finally retirement $ in hand, I booked 6 nights at WL with DDP hoppers, ME, and the works.

Now it was time to find a flight, WOW They've gone up in price!:sad2: I was looking at almost 400 each...let me say here, I HATE TO FLY: I NEED MEDS TO FLY: LAYOVER AND CHEAP FLIGHT NOT AN OPTION. Besides there are like 50 flights to MCO from Logan a day. Long story short when I booked the flight the airline screwed up and I got the tickets for 300 each.:lmao:

That was all in early March. (I'll get to ADRs later) Fast Forward to late March...(I know I use the 3 dot thing a lot) We find out my 57 year old FIL is being activated in the NG and off to Iraq at the end of MAY. In laws want to do a little adult gathering in Atlantic City over April vacation. WOW now I have 2 vacas to look forward to.

April vacation begins :cool1: Drumroll please....with DD throwing up all over me in a restaurant. She has had an alien take over her stomach  and there is no way I can participate in the Atlantic City trip. (I told DH to go since his Dad is leaving) It's a good thing I didn't, I've never seen her so sick. SO, with an entire week to kill what could I do but surf the boards and price stuff!!!!:surfweb:

Now I'm looking at my insane itinerary and spreadsheet. Too much to do, too little time!! I start looking at changing flights, adding nights and split stays. DH calls from a casino, slots ringing in the background, this is particularly upsetting since I LOVE TO PLAY!! He feels so guilty, and he's had a few adult beverages he tells me to do whatever I want!!

So, since I'm not completely irresponsible:scared: , I finally settle on changing flights and adding on 2 nights room only at POR to our trip.

Ok my hands hurt...more later. Please let me know if this is worth reading....

Ok. Gave my hands a break. Now, I want to fill you in on our honeymoon a bit. It was almost 8 years ago. We knew we wanted WDW we just were inexperienced. We were young, I was barely 24.

I had a friend who's mom was a TA we sat down with her and planned, but didn't really plan. Just had heard that POFQ had a New Orleans theme. Liked the idea and booked it. Like I said before that's it. STUPID STUPID!!:headache:

It was the one time in our life together we could've splurged and didn't know it! Finally, wedding day came, everything was perfect, changed into our matching Disney outfits (I know, how dorky!) and off we went. It was like 2 days into our trip and a hurricane is on its way. Don't remember it's name but it's supposed to be a BIG one. People were freaking out, my aunt (who lived in FL at the time) wanted to come get us. It was SUPPOSED to hit hard. We were requested to stay in our resorts. The first time in history Disney closed was on our honeymoon! We made a little walk to the food court and ended up waiting 4 hours for food! We returned to our room, and well...we were on our honeymoon...:rolleyes1 We weren't too heartbroken being kept in our room.

Turns out the hurricane misses us and Disney lets ONLY resort guests go to AK. We had a nice time, but seems like we didn't see much. Anyway, we spent our nights at DTD loved it. We still talk about the candy apple I got (another addiction).

Well, my mom's cousin was in Disney too at WL, so even though we were on hour honeymoon, we were ready to have contact with other people. We picked them up in our convertible and headed to Universal. We had a great day and its a wonderful memory since right after we got back mom's cousin died of cancer within the year. So sad...

So, all in all, our honeymoon was great but the things I would've done differently...

1. Stayed in a Deluxe (preferrably Poly)
2. Had a spa treatment
3. Let DH do Richard Petty
4. Gone swimming (although weather didn't really allow it)
5. Not thrown up after Rock'n Coaster

So it seems a few people read this thread but unfortunately there have been no responses yet. Well, I have news...I'm pregnant.

Yesterday morning started out like every weekend morning. I made the coffee, DD watched cartoons and I surfed the boards and the disney site.

I began this pre-trip report, partially because I was so addicted to other people's and partially to kill some time.

DH had worked overnight and was sleeping. It was a lazy day. We all took naps...got to get back to work finish later.

Hey - congrats on the pregnancy!!

If you're excited, that is!:rolleyes1

Selfish wench that I am would be mad that I couldn't ride all the rides!:rotfl:

Your Pre-Trip is off to a good start! Keep it coming!!:thumbsup2

I am enjoying the pre-trippie...I know how you feel about finding out you are pregnant after a trip is planned. I have had our trip booked since Jan. and I found out I was pregnant in March and we leave Saturday. I will be 12 weeks along and I am praying the morning sickness and fatigue will suddenly disappear. ;) I am still really excited about our trip though and our new addition.

Keep the report coming!

Firstly congratulations on your news:cheer2: Secondly don't despair about rides if you were, there is so much you can do pregnant, and when i went i found that it really helped that i had to go a little slower cos it helped me appreciate all the detail and I probably had a better experience for it:goodvibes You've made a really good start to the report and with us around, i bet you get every detail perfect this time.
btw, pregnancy = pampering = spa afternoon at Grand Floridian, i'm sure its in the rules:lmao:

Wow! Thanks for all the support! I was worried people were bored. Anyway, 1question...do you follow the "don't ride if pregnant" thing to the letter. I'm just wondering. I don't need a rollercoaster but I'm wondering what's too cautious??!

Anyway, yesterday was any other weekend day, I'm on the Dis, DD watching cartoons, Dh sleeping. Watched movies with DD-basically hibernated-took a little nap...

Hmmmm that's weird, I don't usually nap.

Oh, wait! My back was aching Saturday after vacuuming.
Wow, Mom and Dad thought I looked tired at dinner.
Geez...my ****s (sorry, it's funnier than breast) hurt.
I must be due..Wait...I was due Friday.

me-"Honey, should I take a test?"
Dh-"Do you think you should take a test?"
me-"Well, we got a bunch at Costco, I'm a little late...maybe."
DD (in tub)-"Mommy, why are you peeing standing up?"
me-"I'm just doing something adult."

Within seconds of my urine hitting the stick there was a plus sign...:scared1:

me (shaking)-"Mike, I think it's positive..."
long pause-I think he was somewhere between figuring out his Suduko puzzle and processing what I had just said...
DH-"Honey, thats wonderf...Are you okay?"
me-:sad1: (blubbering) "I don't know..."
DD-"Mommy, why are you crying?"
me-"I'm still going on rides at Disney!!" (I swear that was the next thing to come out of my mouth.)

So that is what happened yesterday. Now, yes it's wonderful. Yes, I asked for it (didn't expect it so soon). Yes, I AM SCARED TO DEATH!!!!

I was pregnant before (obviously with DD) It did not go well. I mentioned earlier how sick we both were. I have a really good chance facing that again. Also, this is completely selfish! I really was hoping that it wouldn't happen till we returned from WDW. Now, it looks like I'll be starting my second trimester when we go...damn, I wanted to go on Everest!

First of all...congratulations (I love the three dots, too)! I can completely relate to your fear/frustration/happiness of being pregnant and going to Disney. We had planned a family vacation to Disney, and then found out I would be between 6 and 7 months pregnant when we actually went. I still had a blast, and I rode most of the calm rides (ie. Pooh, Dumbo, Haunted Mansion), and just stayed off the bumpier rides.

I also had to laugh at your comment about your daughter's name should have been "silence". We have a son named Chase, and we are always saying we should have named in "walks slowly"!

So. it's been a full 48 hours now since I found out I am pregnant. All is well. I'm done with my breakdowns, and now it's all about planning Disney with baby in belly.

I posted on another thread a question about rides. I, personally, think that many precautions are to avoid lawsuits. With that said, I'm not stupid and want to be careful about keeping my baby safe. It amazes me though there are people that think I am a horrible parent to be for even asking if the Safari is really dangerous! And as far as test track goes, driving with my DH in Boston during rush hour is probably more dangerous. I will do the right thing and talk to my dr. But am I such a horrible person? Am I the only one that wonders?

What about when people didn't know they were pregnant till 3 or 4 months along! They drank wine, smoked and probably went on every coaster on the east coast! I turned out all right and my mom did all those things.

Just wondering what you think???

Your not horrible!!!I can totally relate to what you are feeling. I went to Disney when I was 13weeks pregnant with DD and I felt the same thing! I was excited about being pregnant (baby #2) yet disappointed about not being able to do all the exciting rides, but I still had a blast! (It is Disney afterall) I avoided rollercoasters but I did the safari and test track and everything turned out fine. I agree that a lot of the warnings are about avoiding lawsuits, but some are legit, you just have to use common sense.

BTW, love your pre-trip report!

I'm trying to get back to my pre-trip report, but my world went upside down when I found out I was pregnant. All my planning, stressing and worrying about this trip has doubled. Not to mention, I have to go for Drs appointment days before we leave and pray that all my clothes still fit.

Since it was like 5 years ago I have no idea how much weight I had gained at the 3 month mark. I've purchased a ton of new clothes and I have no idea if they will still fit.

I've already noticed the hunger kicking in. I'm not a morning eater but today I actually had a breakfast bar before 8am! Maybe it's subconscious but I felt my tummy talking to me. Has this happened to anyone.

I guess I also want to ask those of you that went to WDW pregnant, how did it change your trip? What did you do differently?

Well I didn't get to have any alcohol which was a bummer, DH and I like to have a 'drink around the world' at Epcot. Also I recall getting tired sooner, and not being able to go on any of the 'fun' rides, but other than that it was basically 'business as usual' type trip and I still had a really great time.

i agree with you on the boston being like test track good thing they do not take pictures of you in trafic like on test track there would be alot of angry faces...along for the ride can not wait to hear more!:cool1:

I've been at a loss lately with what to write since the baby news came. All my worrying about the trip seemed silly, and I couldn't remember half the planning details. However, we're had some minor developments though...

So, my DH is not loving the split stay idea and was really hoping to spend the whole time at the WL but it's just too much $. Besides, they don't even have any standard room left so we would have to pony up the money for a better room and it ends up costing so much. Also, considering my new "condition" we've decided to skip Sea World. The plan was to arrive Friday night then go to DTD then Saturday rent a car and go to Sea World. The cost of all this turns out to be about $300. Since DD is 4 it just seems like too much. We're skipping Sea world and spending the day at POR and DTD. Any suggestions for stuff to do there would be appreciated.
Our itinerary looks something like this now...

Friday night-arrive
Saturday-Breakfast at Boatwrights
hang around POR, dinner at Benihana (WE LOVE BENIHANA and since Teppanyaki is closed thought we would try it.)
Sunday-Check out of POR bright and early head over to WL, get park tickets and then over to Chef Mickeys for late breakfast. Then to MGM for Star Wars. Short rest then over to MK for dinner at LTT and fireworks
Monday-Animal Kingdom dinner at Concourse
Tuesday-MGM dinner at WCC
Wednesday-DD birthday!! Lunch at CRT then over to Epcot for DHs Divequest and B'day dinner at Le Cellier
Thursday-Maybe Ak again Hoop dee Doo at night
Friday-MK breakfast at CP and dinner at Kona

So that's the plan, I'm sure I will change it again! :rotfl2:
Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. And, yes, I have built in lots of rest time at the pool for DD and I.
