A newbie's trip just got interesting...HOLY CRAP I'm PREGNANT!!!-ME TAGS ARRIVED!

Congrats on your pregnancy!! I was pregnant with my DS (now 2) on my first trip to WDW. I didn't get to do the big rides, but we still had a blast. Just be sure to drink lots of water!

Just a thought for something fun at DTD...you could bring your DD to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique! The cheapest package is only $35 and then you could go to guest services (I think thats where anyways) for a photo shoot. If she is into Princesses, make-up, etc like my DD (almost 4), she'd probably love it.

I think you said you teach 7th grade?? I must be crazy like you because I taught 7th grade Science and LOVED it! The kids are just so fun at that age! I'm a SAHM now, because we had a new baby in September, but there are many days when I miss teaching! I'm looking for a new job now and hoping for a middle school opening.

Enough about me though...keep the pre-trip report coming!

So I'm down to 1 month and 1 week!!! I'm so excited I can't stand it! However, I have so much to do before we go. Here are just a few things...

1. See prenatal nurse and Dr. (Waiting for this is almost as bad as waiting for Disney!)
2. Create a final exam for students
3. Send my FIL off to Wisconsin to prepare for year in Iraq (Can you believe that-HE's 57!!!!)
4. Pack
5. Go on field trips and finish school year (there's still so much to do)
6. Turn 32

The list goes on and on! The biggest and most frustrating thing is that I can't pack yet!!! It looks like I'll be about 11-12 weeks when we go and chances are my clothes won't fit. I'm going to need a marathon elastic waste shopping spree! The good news is my breakdowns are over and I get more excited with each passing day about baby #2. :cheer2:

Other developments...
Yesterday I mentioned skipping Sea World. I'm happy with this decision. Looking forward at spending the day at POR and DTD, especially since with 2 kids next time we go to WDW it definitely won't be a deluxe!:sad2:

Also, considering my FIL is leaving for a year (so sad won't be home till new baby is about 7 months), might let MIL fly down and meet us. Since we're doing a split stay we might have her come down at the second hotel and fly home with us. Wouldn't be into this if it weren't that FIl (whom I love) is leaving.

By the way, DH is going to kill me for talking nonstop about this trip!!

Hi Jupers -- I found your pre-trippie (obviously!)! And congratulations on the pregnancy! And happy upcoming birthday, too. :goodvibes Good luck with the packing and the pregnancy clothes (ah, I remember those days!).

And thanks for coming over to my pre-trip to visit today! :)

Before I start does anyone know how to edit a thread title without having to go edit the orginal post? If I want to update my title can I do it another way?

Ok, so last night I was like a little kid. I came home from a Chuck-E-Cheese-type place and my ME tags were there!! DH couldn't stop laughing at me. Then of course as I was reading everything I felt like an idiot because I couldn't figure out how to put the tags on. Luckily, it seems that I'm not the only one since there is an entire thread for it. Thank goodness for that thread! All my stupid questions were answered.

I'm still sick over the fact that my beautiful new clothes will not fit me by the time we go. I finally found the perfect Capris and may have to return them.

I have a question, how early do you pack? I don't know how I've contained myself this long but with 1 month to go I'm feeling ready. Is it too soon?

REFLECTIONS ON PAST DISNEY TRIPS popcorn::

So I already told you all about my honeymoon and what I would've changed. Since I got married I have been to Disney one other time: When I was pregnant with DD the 1st time. This is another trip that I would've redone. (I guess I should never try to be a travel planner):confused3

Anyway, before we found out we were pregnant 4 1/2 years ago DH and I booked a cruise. Knowing that we hadn't done the honeymoon right we booked a week-long Carribean Cruise. We were so excited. Low and Behold, I found out I'm pregnant. I was going to be about 5 months along by cruise time. Well, right around that time the stomach sickness was going around all the ships so DH and I wanted to play it safe, and cut costs with our impending bundle, so we cancelled the cruise and decided to do 5 days Orlando. Only this time we would stay at Universal.:woohoo:

I got a great deal through expedia for 5 days. My TA couldn't even beat it. So we booked and went. Don't get me wrong the Hard Rock is beautiful but it is just not the same!!

Pause here...we knew we wanted to visit MK too and when we had gone to Disney on our honeymoon the hurricane I mentioned earlier closed the parks. We were told that we would get a day added onto our tickets. I remembered this and had to get through about 6 people but Disney did honor us with 2 1-day hoppers. That saved us $ since we only were going to MK for the day...

Anyway, we did a marathon Disney/Universal trip. I was at about 5/6 months along and feeling great.:yay: We did 5 parks in 5 days-It was insane! I remember enjoying Epcot a lot more and I ate my way through the world showcase while DH tried an adult beverage in every country. We had a blast. Although missing the rides was upsetting. Ok, back to work more later...

So I just had to say goodbye to my Father in law for a whole year. I can't even believe he's going to Iraq. What the hell do they want a 57 year old for! Dh and his mom and sis drove him to the base. He's off to Wisconsin for 2 or 3months then he'll go to Baghdad. I can't believe he won't be home till DD is 5, and this new baby will be about 7 months old.

Why are we in Iraq still?

CONGRATULATIONS!! WE also went to DW and a cruise for our honeymoon.
Had Hawaii booked bu then Hurricane Inniki hit and so we changed plans w/5 weeks until our wedding.

I'd have stayed at a Deluxe also if I had to do it again! :)

I went pregnant! I did most of the rides, I didn't do BTMR because it was very bumpy, I thought. I did do Splash Mountain though, my dr was pretty much ok w/rides. One she did tell me to skip was Tower of Terror!! :)

Hi,
I am from Wisconsin and a bunch of our reserves just got called up again. They just came home last August. But, they have to go to Arizona and patrol the borders. To bad your fil couldn't be on that mission. Prayers to you and your family.

Anyways to answer a few of your questions:
Before I start does anyone know how to edit a thread title without having to go edit the orginal post? If I want to update my title can I do it another way
You have to go to the bottom of your first post. Press edit, then scroll down and press edit again. This will open up your area to change your heading.

You also asked what is there to do at POR. You will love the grounds. It is so peaceful and beautiful. You can take a horse carriage ride for $35, or rent a surreybike. There are quiet pools scattered. At POR ask for a Mansion room, instead of the back bayou area. You can take a ferry boat to DTD, or just stay on the boat for a boat ride. You go past the Tree House Inns-the international CM's stay there now. You can walk over to POFQ for a snack Baguettes. You can rent a fishing pole for 30 minutes-catch/release on Ole Man Island.
Last piece of advice. If you don't want to move your luggage yourselves, you can request for it to be picked up and it will be transferred over to Wilderness Lodge for you.

PM me when you get back and I'll move your TR to our regular boards. Have a great vacation. I have 4 kids and 7th grade was the nuttiest year for all my kids. You must be a saint to work with that age group.

Chris and Ohmari thanks for the tips.:goodvibes

I don't know if I'm just hormonal but I can't help but feel melancholy. I've been so obsessed with this trip for so long that the closer it gets, the more "numb" I feel. I'm not a good flyer so my flight anxiety might be kicking in? Or, maybe because I'm so exhausted that I'm just tired thining about all "the plans" we have for our time in WDW.

I wish I could explain, but between being newly pregnant, exhausted all the time, and my FIL leaving I'm feeling like this whole thing is going to be anticlimatic?

Does that make sense? Am I alone?

Maybe when my docs arrive I'll be rejuvenated but I'm not feeling as psyched anymore...HELP!!!:sad2:

Sending along a :grouphug: and pixiedust: some pixie dust i felt the same way when there seemed to be nothing left to do or plan just wait it will pass

Hey Soxnation, where are you from? I'm a sox fan, north shore of boston...

Sox fans? ew! haha j/k. Yankee fan here. You know, natural born rivalry. Yadda yadda.

Loving the pre-trip report. Congrats on being pregnant! I can totally understand your fears. Something tells me the trip is going to be great though! Can't wait to read more.

Hi Disneyobsessive, I'm making my way over to your pre-trip report after I write this.:goodvibes

Anyway, not feeling melancholy anymore and I was excited when I got my docs yesterday. I am nervous though about the heat and feeling pregnant yucky. I'll just have to rest a lot. If I can slow DH and DD down, they go nonstop!:cheer2:

However, on a more serious note that is OT (I know, not again...):goodvibes Why do honest people always get scr*&#ed?! Along with my Disney docs yesterday I got a note from unemployment that I owe them $1000. This is from last summer when they messed up! I told them my situation the idiot on the phone said no problem they sent me $, 1 month later they say I shouldn't have been given anything. I even appealed it in court! Still lost. So frustrating.

Sorry, had to vent.

Hi all,

Now that we're only 3 weeks away and I have a zillion things to do, I find I'm doing nothing.

Our new developments are...
1.My MIL is going to join us on day 4. She's flying down on her own and will join us till we leave. This should be a good thing.

2. I went to jury duty the other day and got picked. (I don't have enough to do as it is) I have to go back tomorrow and finish the trial.

3. I'm nauseous a lot! This is different from when I was preggo with DD

We were easily able to add MIL to all ADRs except for Hoop Dee doo. Not sure what we'll do about that, maybe go without her, or maybe let her come and I'll rest.:wave2:

Interesting info I found out...She can still use ME even though she's coming down after us. I didn't know that would be ok.

Now that I'm nearing the end of my first trimester I'm so tired!!! I've been napping everyday. Therefore, I'm not overplanning anything else for this trip. I'm also not going to panic if we don't get to everything. I'm making my peace with this.

I'm very curious to talk to the Doctor though and see what he says about rides.
So that's all for now, I'll let you know if the case ends tomorrow...Hope people are still reading.:confused3

I just found your Pre Trippie and am enjoying it! First off congrats on your pregnancy! Secondly my thoughts and prayers are with you, your family, and your FIL.

I hope you have a great trip and can't wait to read more of your plans. POR is a very nice resort and along with a previous poster request the mansion area. Hope you are feeling better soon!

First, non-disney stuff...

Okay, so jury duty is over. (It was vicious) people arguing in deliberations, people being mean. Definitely an experience I would not like to repeat.:scared:

Looks like my FIL could end up in Iraq in July instead of August. Very yucky stuff.:sad2:

I'm a teacher :teacher: and found out I will be rehired for the fall (not tenured yet). Thank goodness!!

Go to Dr. on Wednesday to hear heartbeat :) :)

Disney stuff...

Packing and flight anxiety are setting in!!!:scared1: With under two weeks to go I'm starting to sweat, but still waiting to see what clothes I'll grow out of.

Also, DD is starting to say she doesn't want to go on a plan. She seems very nervous about the whole trip no matter how much I talk it up.

DH is getting very excited. I didn't know he would.

My pregnancy forgetfullness is horrible! :rotfl: I found the perfect Disney walking sandals and DH bought them for my b'day. When we got home I couldn't find them. I went back to the store and bought another pair after flipping out in the store because they didn't have them and on DH. Three days later I found them in my closet!!!!!:rolleyes1

Not sure if anyone is still there?

Anyway, only 2 days to go. Just got out of school for the summer and I actually feel lost today. I didn't know that would happen since this is my first real summer off as a teacher.

At this point I'm not terribly excited because I've built this trip up so much that my anxiety is through the roof. Anyway, need to finish packing will write when we get back and fill everyone in on this trip.

I just found your report...great job!! (see, I like the three dots, too!! ;) ) Only 2 more days!! You have to be thrilled.

Congratulations on the baby...that is so exciting. Have you spoken to your doctor about the rides? I'm sure you will have a blast no matter what.

I'm sorry to hear about your FIL. One of my cousins just got back from Iraq a few weeks ago. He was there just under a year. He wants to go back and finish the job. My uncle was in the Navy and stationed in the Gulf during Desert Storm. He said he wishes they woud have been allowed to finish the job the first time we were there so we wouldn't have to be there now. Anyway....

7th grade, huh? You're a saint!! A SAINT, I tell ya!! I have a son who will be 13 in August. He is going into 8th grade this fall. I hate this age - the rolling of the eyes, the back talk, the sighing. UGH!! Give me the newborn stage any day!! I also have a 5 year old daughter and she is acting just like him!!

So, anyway, sorry I didn't find your report sooner. I have just started my own pre-trip report and never really read them before. Have a great time on your trip!!

:grouphug:

still here good luck packing, can not wait to hear about the trip, wish you happy and safe travels!:goodvibes :goodvibes
