A New Year and a New Job

For the past 10 months I have been focused on finding a new job, and it has now paid off. This morning I accepted the Area Executive Director's position with the American Cancer Society in Northern Virginia. While this new opportunity will require me to move away from family and friends, I will be moving to an area where I already have family and can make new friends. And I am moving ever so closer to WDW.

It was a tough decision, but it was made a bit easier when my 15 year old daughter said..."Daddy I will miss you but you need to take that job in Virginia." I feel very lucky to have such an understanding and encouraging daughter.

And your daughter sounds very mature to encourage her Daddy so. If you don't already have them, get webcams so you can visit that way. We have that set up here for my 11 yo dd to visit with her father who is 4 hours away. It has worked out so far.

Oh, I am 2 1/2 hours away from the Metroplex. I run up there about every two months. I grew up in a Dallas suburb and my family stilll lives there. Sigh.......it would have put us in the same vincinity more or less. What area of DFW would you have gone to?

The Fort Worth side. I was a finalist for a very cool job, but they chose someone local. I have a sister & B-I-L in that area. They too are DisFan and DVC members.

I am sure that this new job will be a great adventure for you. So many possibilities there.
