A NEW Summer Excercise & Weight Loss Group?

Am I the only person who can go to a horse show ... do ALL that work ... and GAIN weight???? Grr! I MUST remember to pack more water and to actually drink it! Also, we need to find time to actually EAT during the day at the show. Drinking grape soda (my FAVORITED beverage of choice at horse shows ... don't ask me why ... I NEVER drink it at home) and eating late in the evening are killing me.

So ... the 4th is over ... gotta try to get back on track. I've not been feeling that great. Think I need to exercise more!

I'm Mimmy Mouse (Bette) would love to lose 10 lbs by October. I am 61 and have a thyroid problem that makes it hard for me to lose weight. But, I'm going to try.

Mimmy Mouse, I feel your pain. I've had Hypothyroidism since I was like 12. I completely understand. I can also tell you that you can lose weight. It is hard but it can be done. Hang in there! Take it one day at a time.

This threads great...I'd love to join! Thnx for starting it! :thumbsup2

I'm 23 yrs old but Im an on/off WW dieter. Everytime im on it- i lose 15-20 lbs, which is always what i want. Then i stop bcause ive reached that goal, and this time ive managed to gain ever MORE back! It makes me feel good to lose weight and workout, so it doesnt make sense why i love to eat so much?!!

My weaknesses are sweets, BY FAR!!! I'm pretty good at not eating late at night (when i put my mind to it) and drinking my water... i drink about 160 fl oz. a day. (thats a lot of trips to the bathroom!!) :rotfl: Anyways, Im here to help & be helped!!

I gotta start getting to the gym, thats where my downfall is. I enjoy the feeling afterwards, but its actually getting up and going that kills me. Also, I live in an apt complex with a gym- i figure, im paying for it (in my rent) i should use it and its soo close!! i dunno...

I love hearing everyones tips, esp recipes...so lets keep it up!!

Oh yeah, my goal again?- 20 lbs. AND KEEP IT OFF!! :rolleyes1
Ive lost 5 lbs so far in 3 weeks. Thats being on WW.

Welcome DisneyPrncess! Best of luck to you!

Where is everyone??? I've been busy & been on the road. But, I'm going to be home for a period of about 3 weeks so I've started some MINOR excercising again. Time is limited ... doing LOTS of barn work right now.

Have walked 2 days in a row now.

One good thing about the frenetic pace running up to our national championship horse show ... nerves often start to crop up. Makes sleeping difficult but those nerves really help curb my appetite. I had lost 10 pounds in my first 5 weeks then hit a plateau. However, thanks to lots of barn work & growing horse show nerves, I'm done another 4.5 lbs. Hoping to break the 200lb mark early next week.

May need your help in the form of encouragement. I'll undoubtedly hit a wall again soon.

aspcamhreditor2,

Hi! I've been busy myself with my job and other things. I understand finding time to work out. I make it a point of making time to work out. If you are that close to breaking 200lb. mark, don't give up, don't give up. I repeat DON'T GIVE UP!

I didn't do to well today. I went over on my calories and fat grams but I'm not going to beat myself up over it. I'm just going to make a point tomorrow to make better choices than I did today.

Everyone hang in there! Take it one day at a time. Keep up the good work!

Anyone have an ideas on how i would actually learn to get my butt outta bed in the morning to work out? Today was horrible. I set my alarm at 7am (I usually wake up at 8am) to go for a run, got out of bed, walked into the bathroom and decided an extra hour of sleep was better. I couldnt run when i was that tired. Im fine with getting up for work every morning, i bounce right out of bed- maybe its the fact that i know ill get in trouble if im not there on time?? :confused3 I just need some inspiration before i go to work (not that losing weight isnt enough...)

Im more of a person that likes to do it in the morning and get it out of the way, because by the time i get home usually life gets in the way and i have other things (or maybe better  ) things to do. I need your HELP!! I really REALLY wanna start running in the morning, i dont know what to do. I go to bed at 11pm every night- getting a full 8 hrs, i just dont know what my problem is...

ANyways, i did go for a walk last night when i got home- that felt good but my dinner was ritas waterice (not so good). although, thats all i had for the night...so i guess it wasnt horrible. Went grocery shopping last night and bought some high fiber cereals and healthy choice meals. Hopefully they will keep me on track...

Anyone know what the deal is with the warm water and lemon? Whats it do? Why do people drink it??:confused3

Well its friday, thats GREAT!!! :cool1: No big plans for the weekend, other than trying to stay on my diet and work out. :rolleyes1

Hey ladies! Just checking in. I took a week off for vacation over the 4th, but was back at it this week. I still need to weigh for the week, but the scale hasn't been moving much. OTOH - Shorts that were tight a few weeks ago fit comfortably now, so I must be losing inches. I'll take that. :)

DisneyPrincess - Have you considered moving your bedtime back to 10:30? Maybe that extra 30 minutes will help you get up in the morning? Is there any way you could walk or something like that on your lunch hour? I'm not a morning person either, so I totally understand how hard it is to get up and work out first hing in the morning. DO you have a friend in your apartment complex who might be interested in meeting you to work out together? Maybe if you know someone is waiting for you it would help.

aspcamhreditor2 - Great work so far! You're SO close on that 200 mark. Keep up the good work!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Wow! Where is summer going??? I've been remiss in posting ... too much work and horse show prep. Trying to finish our August magazine which is about 30 pages bigger than originally projected. We leave for our national championship horse show on Tuesday 7/31.

What's all that mean in terms of this thread? Well, I've been too busy to post ... sorry

sebfigmin....
thanks for the encouragement!

disneyprincess ....
ahhh ... the morning workout problem ... I feel your pain. I KNOW how hard it can be to get up and motiviated in the a.m. I am sooooo NOT a morning person. I simply encourage you ... set your mind to it & stay determined. After you do it a time or two, it becomes easier.

I've been working to get up earlier myself. However, my "extra" time has been spent in the barn or office rather than excercising. It's been a harder the last few mornings. After spending 4 or 5 days in a row up working until midnight or so and then trying to get back to work or to the barn by 5:30 the next morning .... well, I get tired after the first 4 or 5 days. So, a couple of days of more normal sleeping let's me get back to that schedule.

Upshot ... my recent physical activity has still been more focused to work w/ the horses. But, I've also been busy enough & nervous enough that both have helped curtail my eating.

FINALLY ... I'm below 200! I have lost a total of 18 pounds since early May.

The bulk of the horse show season for our farm wraps up after 8/5. Am planning to get back in the habit of walking a few mornings a week before school starts the end of the month.

Hidy ho neighbors! Hope everyone is doing well. I've been a little busy with other things so I apologize for not touching base earlier. I didn't lose any weight when I weighed in Monday. I'm not going to let it get me down because I lost 9.1 lbs the week before. I'm going to just take it one day at a time & keep plugging away.

By the way aspcamhreditor2, no problem. I'll motivate anyone I can. One good turn deserves another.

Keep up the great work everyone!

Where is everyone? Has everyone left? I hope not. Well, I'm down another 1.8 lbs. Hope everyone is doing well and losing weight. Keep in touch!

I know we can do it! :thumbsup2
