This show just started, but it's just amazing. One example showed over a thousand dolllars of product costing only $9 and change.

From what I can tell you have to really work at this and do stockpiling of items. Some people have devoted rooms and basements to this cause.

You need to buy multiple newspapers for multiple coupons and to do sale prices and doubling grocery stores for coupons, but this show shos you it can work.

Even if you don't go to the extreme the hints may help your budget. Good luck to all. I'm going to watch this show.

TLC is looking into this show for fraud-

There's probably tricks to everything out there and fraud.

I'm just going to try and take away the good points from the show and I'm not about to commit fraud.

Several LONG threads on this show already.......

Here is what I have learned from the show so far:

I can clear the shelves of 63 jars of mustard or 87 bottles of aspirin, leaving nothing for other couponers who might just want one or two bottles to feed their immediate families.

I need far more shelving if I wish to have 3 years' worth of toilet paper, oh wait, no, I can store it under my 5 year old's bed.

It may take me anywhere from 15-35 hours per week to clip and plan so that I can get the good hauls.

I may need to actually BUILD an added room in my attic to accomodate all the inserts first.

Hoarders comes on right afterwards......:rolleyes1

Sorry, I am all for couponing and saving, but those people are mentally ill.

ITA!! I have only watched one episode with that Jamie chick and she annoyed the crap out of me. The fact that she saw herself as glamorous was funny and what was that stupid dance she was doing in teh aisle.

I had a friend that did this, but not to the EXTREME, OCD level on this show. It seems they buy things they don't really need...or is it just me? Who needs 186 Butterfinger bars? These women had their kids dumpster diving in recycle dumpsters for discarded coupons. I think there is a quality of life issue. I'm all for a bargain. Won't catch me buying my DD7 clothes that aren't on sale with a Kohl's % off coupon! However, this is beyond the pale. Who needs 120 jars of mustard and unless you have a desire to use 4 year old toothpaste, who needs 147 tubes? Dr. Drew...Dr. Drew....

Hoarders comes on right afterwards......:rolleyes1

I'm glad I'm not the only person who caught on to Hoarders being on right after. Seriously, the twins that bought diapers.............and they don't even have children??? Serious issues.

Also, most stores will not let you use that many of the same coupon. The shows set it all up in advance. I know a lot of stores are changing their coupon policies to avoid people like this... Basically spoils it for those of us just trying to stay in budget, not stockpile a million toothbrushes :)

While I am in great need to learn every penny saving method out there, this new show on TLC is somehow bothersome.

The hoards that these people are buying are not just saving money but going to such extremes that it almost requires a certain mental state.

It is so frustrating to go into a store and not be able to buy ketchup because an Extme Couponer came through and got 78 bottles.

While most stores in my area are reducing their product selection it makes it even harder to apply coupons for savings if you have to make 3 different stops.

As my pantry is quite bare, looking at their stockpiles sometimes reminds me of greed.
Sorry.

I know I've said this before, but it needs to be repeated.

An easy way to save tons of money is NOT BUYING THINGS YOU DON'T NEED!!!!

Seriously, who needs 93 bags of croutons? Or 67 bottles of mustard? Or 120 boxes of excedrin?

The woman that built an extra room in her house to hold PAPER? WTH??

Something even more bothersome to me, momxx5 is the fact that you can "afford" to watch this show, which airs on TLC, a pay-cable channel. Yet, you have posts all over the place saying you can't afford basic needs such as oven/dryer repairs and, yes, a toilet seat.

I'm just sayin'...

I have not seen the show so maybe I am missing something. But do these people resell this stuff? I can't imagine why someone would buy that amount of stuff unless they were running a summer camp.:confused3

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that....:rolleyes1

Geez.... Judge much????

maybe she's in a contract and it would cost more to break the contract??!!
I'm sorry, I didn't see her post asking you for money to pay her bills.......:rolleyes1

No one on here has to justify to anyone else on the Dis how they spend their money.
There are reasonable reasons why she may have cable and she doesn't owe that explanation to any of us.
