A new code twist....

Bottom line: There appear to be two types of people who received the discount without the PIN.

Group A: Called & honestly stated they didn't receive it but read/heard of it and wanted to know if they could use it. Worked for some but not others, probably depending on the CM.

Group B: Called and used the "I accidentally threw it away", "I left it at home" type approach. Again worked for some, but by no means all.

Some people have a problem with both groups, some only with Group B, and some neither. Whatever - to each their own. As for me, I was Group A but struck out. I have no problem with the successful Group A people.... I'm not too excited about the successful Group B folks.

Judgement of others is a very fickel thing.........

It took another 5 pages and umpteen thousand words to say what?
I'm right/moral and your wrong.

Where is the High school musical playing........Oh right here.
If the hoarse get up again, beat it some more.

Traci - I'm sorry I don't get. Who asked for what?

I was just being silly about beating the dead horse :) no jabs at anyone - just making light of our endless code threads.

This is my first post here and I have to admit this whole code/pin thing has me very confused. I know that my family is not eligible, since this is our first trip to WDW and my DH called just to see if there was any discounted rates on rooms at the times we are travelling and was told "no".

I am not trying to be judgemental in any way. But I read on another thread or board (wish I could remember where) that people who were booking the rooms with the CODE and no PIN, where getting the discount over the phone but upon check in, were asked to produce the PIN. Has anyone else heard this? People who couldn't give the pin upon check in were then told they couldn't receive the discount and were charged the extra cost of the room. Is this Disney Urban Myth or true...if it is true scarey stuff.

Anyways I guess I will just keep wishing and praying for free dining...:wizard:

We've gotten postcards with pins before and used them. We never we asked to produce any proof at check in. I made sure to ask when booking. I was always told that once you make the reservation you no longer need the postcard and not to bring it. Disney will honor these codes because they are making money and it is their own mistake anyway.

I just didn't get it that's all. I didn't think it was intended as anything.

No. I am quite confident that this horse is dead sir.

RIP - Barbaro & The PIN Code Horse

Awww...poor Barbaro:( The PIN Code Horse never had a chance......lol

I thought about switching to GF, but I don't want to drive my husband nuts anymore than I already have (we've switched 4 times already).

Have a wonderful trip...the GF is beautiful. :)

Anyone that has been here for any length of time knows what a stickler I am for rules. I don't lie, really no need to. However I try very hard to not pass judgement on others, I figure someone else is better at that job than I could ever be.

That said, some need to remember that when you make statements such as, "get off your high horse", you are doing the very thing to that person that you are upset with. You are also being judgemental.

As to the OP, I must say that considering that this code situation has been a very heated debate and much confusion and hard feelings, it will appear that your post is much like pouring salt in a wound.

Sometimes it is best to just keep such things to oneself. ;)

And here I thought we had all moved on.

I was in no way trying to pour salt in anyone's wounds as you say. (If anyone felt that way, I truly do apologize.) There has been much speculation and guessing done on this board as to Disney's intentions with these codes. My post was more than anything to point out that even the one thing that everyone agreed on, the dates, was not a rigid rule.

I have been watching all the discussions going on about these codes. My thread was not the first, or the last and there are others going on as we speak.

My post was not put out there to attack anyone. I was however quickly attacked by many posters. As is human nature I defended myself. I have been called a liar a cheat and a theif pretty much, and I believe I have handled myself well.

For someone who tries not to be judemental, your post sure does come across that way. I have no further comment on that. As I have said before if you have a problem with me or the choices I made, feel free to PM me and we can discuss it.

This thread had moved on to lighter talk and I for one think we should either keep it that way or stay away from it.

Again, my origonal post was never intended to hurt anyone. If I did I am truly sorry.

Hope you have a wonderful trip and my comments were not directed to just you, you might want to re-read it, but to also those attacking you.

Have a great day.
