A recent post reminded me of a thought I had in 2004 - could someone do all ten Disney thrill rides (the MK mountains, MS, TT and Soarin at Epcot, RR and TT at MGM and Dinosaur and EE at AK) in one day. My trek on Christmas Eve 2004 (pre Soarin and EE) was I arrived at MK at 9:00 am and did SplM, BTM and SpaM before boarding the monorail for EP. There I did MS and TT and then walked to the International Gateway where I picked up a boat (I now know I could have walked faster than the boats - I was off-schedule) and got a FP for RR before I had to head back to CBR to get the DW (she thought I was nuts) and then heading back to MGM where I hit the RR and TT. The idea was born. :stir:

The Challenge: :teacher:

Ride all ten Disney thrill rides - Expedition Everest and Dinosaur at Animal Kingdom, the three mountains at Magic Kingdom, Test Track, Mission:Space, and Soarin' at Epcot, and Tower of Terror and Rockin' Roller Coaster at MGM in one day.

The Rules: :confused3

Except from not breaking any park rules or traffic laws, there are none. Using Extra Magic Hours is allowed, but to have an extra challenge (and get those all important bonus points), do it within the normal park hours.

The Reward: :cheer2:

The undying awe of your fellow Dis-Board readers and the knowledge you did something others only dream about.

For the Serious: Get a CM to sign a sheet at every ride proving you accomplished the challenge. Take a picture with a digital camera and post here.

Who's first????? :cool1: I just may try it on my next trip in December!!

Back in April a friend of mine and i went to all 4 parks and did everything on your list except for RockNRoller Coaster (it broke down and went up and broke down again, or we would have been on it) and Mission:Space (since it makes me feel weird)...so it IS do-able on the right day.

BTW, we didn't use EMH, didn't take disney transportation, drove to each park which saved us probably 20+ mins each time, then took the monorail from Epcot to MK.

Another advantage is we got to AK at 8:00 AM for opening and was at MGM by 9:15 after they opened at 9:00 AM, so we were able to only have a few mins worth of crowds ahead of us.

Sounds fun! I may try it on my December trip.

There was an article in the Orlando Sentinel about 3 or 4 years ago where two reporters hit all 7 major theme parks in one day and went on 1 ride from each park, bought 1 food and 1 souvenir.

It was a fun article to read especailly since I was in Disney at the time.

We did this minus EVEREST (cause it wasn't open yet) last September. We are serious park hoppers though and crowds are very low then.... I think it was the day after a huricane. I am tempted to try again this Sept with EE added to the list. :cheer2:

We have a poster named Slacking on the DIS who did eight parks in one day: Busch Gardens Tampa, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM, and Animal Kingdom all in one day. I believe he rode 2 major rides in each park. Maybe he can give some information on his experience.

Thanks for the ehads up Bev!

Yeah, Feb 2004, I hit all the major Central Florida parks, trying to get 1-3 rides in at each park. Because of time constraints and crowds I couldn't get all the major E-Tickets (for instance at MK I rode Haunted Mansion and Pirates I believe), but I definitely could see that list of 10 rides doable in one day. A crowded day would cut it close, but just focusing on those 10 rides and it can definitely be done. The advice about driving yourself between the parks is perfect. The busses take way too much time out of the day is what I've noticed. Monorail from Epcot to MK wouldn't be too bad though since the MK parking lot is usually a mess. Another thing which would facilitate getting all rides in would be to sue the single rider lines at EE, Space, and TT.

If I were to try this, this is the order I would do it in:

Park at MK before opening (non extra hour morning) and be there when they drop the ropes. Ride Space Mt followed by Splash and then BTTMR. Leave MK and go to Epcot using your own car. Unless line is small, grab a FastPass for Soarin' (hopefully still early enough that the time shouldn't be too late) and then go single riders line for both TT and M:S. If its time, ride Soarin', if not explore Future World (maybe ride Figment) until its Fast Pass time. At this point, I'd probably go to MGM and wait in line for both ToT and RnRC (unless FastPass is really working in your favor then I'd grab or FP for one and wait in line for another). Now, I'd end the Day at AK and wait in the Singles Line for EE and then end my day riding Dinosaur.

Wow.... all this talk is making me wish I had the $ to renew my pass!

Sounds very inviting, I just might have to try this...if the old ticker can handle it....
