Since I hadn't done the MyPoints Tupperware offer this month, I thought I go see what they have to offer.

On the site, you can get 800 points for any purchase at Tupperware. Usually, I've bought small items thru them in the past. I do like the swizzle sticks and those gift bags were great. But unless they offer free shipping, it can cost just a tad too much IMHO.

This time, I bought a $5 e-Gift certificate and had it sent to myself. No shipping and I figured that even if I didn't get the points, I'd still have my money, even if it was in the form of a GC.

Well, I still got the Congratulations! link at the bottom of my order page and when I clicked on it, it says that I'll see my 800 points tomorrow. I'm hoping that it works. If it does, I may do this every month until they offer free shipping or a nice % off discount. By then, I'll have a few $5 e-Gift certificates to redeem and I'll be able to get something a little nicer than swizzle sticks.

So what do you think? Does this sound do-able?

I think it is very do-able. I have done this twice and now have two $5 gift certificates to redeem. I read a post where the person uses a $5 egift certificate to buy another $5 egift certificate. I just can't do that. I figure sooner or later we won't be able to get the 800 bonus points for purchasing egift certificates if we abuse it. To each his own, I guess. The way I look at it, I want to buy tupperware anyway, this way it doesn't hit the pocketbook so hard.

I do advise you to set up a special file somewhere to keep track of your certificate numers.

I was doing this also, and getting tons of tupperware points, then all of a sudden my account was disabled. When it was reactivated they told me it was because of all the tupperware points, but it was their mistake. Since then, I reread the terms of use, and it is stated that you cannot earn points for gift certs. Just a warning to be careful!

Thanks for the warning, Chi-Mom. That's exactly why I had asked the question. I really don't want to be doing something wrong and get my account terminated, I just thought it would be a painless way of getting the points. There is no way that I would use a GC to purchase a GC! I don't view that as actually making a purchase. I don't want to do something dishonest, I just want to be able to get the most for my purchases.
