A Mouse, Two Little Minnows who wear out Grumpy and Test Track Moves to Naples 11/26

If the people in this office would leave me ALONE, I could get it up. It's mostly typed and I should have it up tonight after dinner (although Mark and I are both working late so it will be after 8 p.m. CST). Can I come back and live by you? They are driving me nuts here.

I am so sorry you are busy but if it makes you feel better I am slammed at work too! You guys can come and live with us....plenty of room for Romeo and his girl!

I think your last update should have changed the current title about two minnows to, Two Snails move Faster than Kathy's next Update! :rotfl2:

But it is soooo worth the wait to see the trouble we get into

I love when Dynamo Duos (or Trios) get into trouble!! Excited for your update!

So I thought I posted a reply in here before But I guess not. You guys are practically my neighbors. Started reading your TR before and sort of lost track with all the other PTR and TR's I've been trying to keep track of. There are sooooo many good ones. But anywho, I am enjoying thus far and I am catching up.

No problem; glad to have you back.

Grumpy looks a bit like Tiny Tim in this hat. "Tip Toes Through the Tulips" :rotfl:

Yes, he does, doesn't he? And now you have me humming that tune. :lmao::lmao:

All Caught up now. Looks like you guys had a really good time. Avery and Kayley are adorable!! Biergarten looks awesome too! I might have to put that on my ADR list for my next trip. No Weinerschnitzle?? Chickenschnitzle just doesn't seem like it would be the same. Veil is soooo much better than chicken. I love all the hat pictures too!

They are adorable girls. Biergarten was awesome...but Chickenschnitzle???? I just don't get it.

I think your last update should have changed the current title about two minnows to, Two Snails move Faster than Kathy's next Update! :rotfl2:

Look who is calling the kettle black????? UPDATE coming just for you Marv.

I just read your reviews and love them! Thanks for sharing Kathy! I'm glad you had a wonderful vacation! :goodvibes

Thanks for joining in Jess.

Let's get him Kathy!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Payback time in December, Rosie! :thumbsup2

I am so sorry you are busy but if it makes you feel better I am slammed at work too! You guys can come and live with us....plenty of room for Romeo and his girl!

We could stay out of your way in the other bedroom. ;)

Well, I'm not sure I would say it was worth it. :rotfl2:

I love when Dynamo Duos (or Trios) get into trouble!! Excited for your update!

I'm working on inserting the pics...it should be up soon.

Okay, I've got a few people who are getting a little antsy here for an update so I guess I'll give them one so they don't hijack my TR!!! ;)

So we are on our 8th day of vacation and our 4th full day on Marco Island.

First, let me tell you ahead of time...there are NO pictures. I had the camera with me all day but forgot to take pictures.

So today was girls day. Nicki and I had been looking forward to this day for a long time. We arranged it that Nicki would pick me up at 8 a.m. so we could stop at Starbucks for our coffee on our way to the outlet malls for SHOPPING!

Nicki picked me up around 8:10 (she hit almost every red light on the way from Naples to the Island). We stopped at Starbucks. Nicki insisted she was buying my coffee. So Nic asked what I wanted. As I started to tell her she said to me, "you better just order it." Now, it's really not that complicated, but obviously Nic thought it was. Normally, on the weekend I get two on the weekends, but decided to just get one since there was a Starbucks at the outlet mall and I knew we'd get one there as well.

So we both had our drinks and decided rather than sit and drink it that we would head to our first outlet mall even though it wouldn't be open until 10 a.m. We arrived at the outlet mall around 9:15 or so if I remember correctly and walked from our parking spot through to the other side of the mall, noting what stores their were, etc., and stopped at Starbucks for a second coffee. It was REALLY hot already so Nicki got a cold one and I got another hot one. And for all the curious minds following along, I order a Venti Non-fat, 1/2 decaf, wet cappucino. I'm not supposed to have caffeine, but I get a really bad headache if I drink strictly decaf.

So we sat inside and enjoyed our coffee and talked about my dad and how I still missed him so much and Nicki told me about how she had to get up and talk at her grandpa and uncle's funeral services. We both were a little teary eyed when we were done.

Then it was time to SHOP! I cannot remember every store we went to but we did go to Dress Barn, a lingerie shop or two, Coach Purse shop and, of course, the Disney Outlet store.

Here's what I bought at this first stop (yes, I did take pictures of these items when I got home):

I got this blouse at the Dress Barn for a really good cost:

Got this at the Disney Outlet Store for $2.99 for the set:

I also got this cute t-shirt for $6.99, but I didn't take a picture of it when I took pics of all my souvenirs (but here is me wearing it on the day we departed). It says "lovebirds" up on top with some birds and then Mickey and Minnie are on the bottom (I doubt you can see much of the detail):

From there we went to another mall. We hit another lingerie store, a Pier One, a Yankee Candle and Sephoria. I picked up a candle and holder for our gracious condo owners as a thank you gift; I also purchased the hand lotion that Disney carries in a larger size for home and some OPI nail polish. We also went to the Disney Store, but they didn't have anything that caught my eye.

Nicki and I were now getting hungry and we decided to go to Thank God It's Friday's. We ordered a Diet Coke (me) and an iced tea for Nicki. We were both craving a good cheeseburger and that's what we went with along with french fries. I have to tell you it was REALLY, REALLY good. We decided to skip dessert because we were going to stop at another Starbucks for our "afternoon delight."

So we left TGIF's and started on the road back to Marco Island to sit outside and have our afternoon beverage. It started to rain...just a typical Florida afternoon rain shower with the sun still shining. We got to a stop light and we were talking about what time we were going to dinner tonight and that we would meet Nicki and Todd at the restaurant (and we promised not to get lost this time).

All of a sudden, my head goes forward and Nicki says to me, "did you feel that?" We had been hit from behind and the impact was so hard that we went into the car in front of us. Nic asked if I was okay and I said yes and I asked her if she was okay. She was crying...not because she was hurt, but because she was so angry.

First, she felt so bad that I was in the car with her and second this was the SECOND time she had been hit in four months. She just couldn't get over it. Nicki called 911 immediately (something the clown who hit us did not do or the lady in front of all--they called a boss and a relative). Nicki asked again if I was all right and I said my neck hurt a little but other than that I was fine. Nicki's bosom hurt because the seat belt on impact became very tight. The police arrived and first wanted to know if we were okay. Nicki tld them my neck hurt and her **** hurt but other than that we were fine. The medics came and wanted to know if we wanted to be checked out but we both declined; my neck pain had basically gone away by then and I was more worried about Nic. She was beginning to hyperventilate because she was crying so hard because she had talked to Todd and she was so upset. She kept telling me she was sorry. I kept tellng her it wasn't her fault and she had nothing to be sorry about. She kept saying, but you are in the car with me, and I kept telling her if she said it one more time I was NOT going to dinner with her that night. I was trying to lighten the mood and failing miserably.

Then all three drivers got out of the car and she told me to stay in the car because there was too much traffic. Yeah, right...like I was going to stay in the car while she is hyperventilating on me. We checked the damage and, of course, Nicki's car took the brunt of it. The police blocked all traffic and had the three cars pull into the pizza parlor parking lot.

By this time it was no longer just a Florida shower, but it was pouring. Again, I was told to stay in the car. No, I don't think so best friend of mine. I got Nicki's umbrella and got out of the car with the rest of them. The police officer talked to each driver, looked at each of the cars to note the damage and to get everyone's driver's license and insurance info. The guy who hit us at some point indicated that a car pulled out of a parking lot and pulled in front of him to turn and by the time he saw us he couldn't stop. He also made a comment a bout being "late for a wedding. It seems he was a photographer on the way to a wedding for a photo shoot. Now, don't you think you'd give yourself plenty of time to get to a wedding if YOU were the photographer? My theory is he was on the cell phone and NOT paying attention. The woman that we ran into had minor damage to her car.

As we were waiting for the police to finish up the reports, the boss of the man who hit us showed up. As I was standing there he made a comment and I really just wanted to slap him. He said, "people need to learn how to drive in Florida with the rain, etc." He was insinuating that it was Nicki's fault for the accident. I turned around and said to him, "she has lived here for over ten years...she knows how to drive in Florida." "And on top of that, we were at a complete stop at a stoplight and we weren't the one who rammed into anyone.

The police informed Nicki that the guy who hit us would be the one getting the ticket and she should call her insurance company, etc.

We checked the trunk to be sure our packages were not all over the place, etc., and found that the trunk could no longer be closed. Our packages were fine and we got in the car. And, to lighten the mood, I said, "We are still going to Starbucks, aren't we?" That got a laugh out of Nicki and we started on our way. We took our time as Nicki was still shaking. After we got to Starbucks, we ordered our drinks adn Nicki called Todd to tell him where we were and that after she dropped me off she would be home. Todd asked to talk to me because Nicki said he wanted to be sure I was okay. I think he wanted to see how I was but he wanted to see how Nicki was because she was still crying off and on. I told him I was fine, but that she was not--she was just so upset and she was crying so hard that she scared me to death. I reassured him I was fine and Nicki would be okay and I'd see him that night.

We sat outside and drank our drinks and talked about the accident and what a jerk the guy was that hit us. We then made the drive back to Marco Island and confirmed dinner time and that we were both going home to rest before then. We both needed a nap.

So there you have it: "Did you feel that?, Late for a Wedding, and We are Still Going to Starbucks, Aren't we?" The good news is Mark wasn't in the car after his neck surgery--that would NOT have been a good thing. And the best news is that nobody was seriously hurt. Yes, the car was damaged big time, but that's why you have insurance--so they can be fixed. I'd rather a car be fixed than me or my best friend. It certainly was an unusual end of our "girls day out."

And this concludes the part of the title of this TR -- Test Track Moves to Naples. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Nicki: If I missed anything please feel free to add it. And I LOVE YOU!
Up next, our last dinner with Nicki and Todd.

The way you two drink Starbucks I think I need to buy some stock in that company! :lmao:

So, ummm, no pics of the lingerie you ladies bought????? :confused3 :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Glad you had a nice lunch... our Friday's here is hit or miss- mostly miss. :headache:

So the accident.. glad both of you were ok physically. I've been in quite a few accidents and they are never fun. It is very nerve-racking. I'm sure the guy that hit you guys wasn't paying attention. You just don't bash into someone that is stopped at a light. I Cn't believe you went to another Starbucks after this... I think I would of been getting a cocktail after that!

I hope you both were relaxed for dinner. :goodvibes

Oh, how horrid! And the nerve that boss had to say such a thing!!! I am glad that everyone was alright and that you still got to go to starbucks. ;)

Good LORD!! I am SOoOOOO glad you two were ok!! How horribly scary and emotional! Poor poor Nicki! Like Tim said, I'd have called the guys, and gone to get a cocktail, then gone to take my nap before dinner!

How awful! I would have had a few additional choice words for the boss man. He should keep his craptastic comments to himself.:headache:

I'm glad that you both were okay.

OMG! I can't believe all of that...some people are such jerks, especially when they know they are at fault! Ugh! :sad2: I'm glad you guys are ok though, that must have been scary! :goodvibes

I was wondering what the Test Track part of the title of your TR meant...now it finally makes sense! :rotfl:

Nicki: if it makes you feel any better, I was rear-ended twice in 1 week! Both times at stop lights, and the one didn't have insurance!

Wow ... that's crazy.... Sorry to hear about the accident. I've been rear-ended a couple of times, once this year. I too was at a complete stop at a red light, the guy was an ,.... oh it doesn't matter.

I'm glad that the two of you were not injured. I hope that there were no lasting feelings from the accident as well.

Not exactly the part of Test Track I was hoping for y'all. LOL Cheers.

We were having the best day, until 2:20 pm LOL

Have you ever been so furious that you just cry? Well that was me in a nutshell, crying like a goofball not because I am sad but because I was out of my mind angry. You have to know the love love love relationship I have with my car....I have owned it since its "birth", I dreamed of getting this car, I saved for 2 years, I picked the color, the wheels, etc everything about it is so me....that is why I was so livid.

I know accidents are just that, accidents and I am so grateful that no one was hurt, but come on..I just went through this, I was shocked that it happened again because I was just hit at a stop light in May, the lady was on her Blackberry texting away and didn't see the light and crashed into me...that was horrible but THIS was insane.

I was terribly worried about Kathy, for some reason I felt it was my fault and if she was hurt I would be devastated, I mean, I was driving the car. I must have asked her a bazillion times if she was ok (I think she told me to shut up at one point LOL)...I was so worried about her because we were hit hard. Thank goodness I had a good space between my car and the lady in front of me or it could have been worse for her, and me.

We were just sitting there, at a dead stop at a traffic light and the guy hit me doing 30 miles and hour. His claim is that there was a white truck that cut him off but the police officer said there is no way he couldn't see the light was red.

First instinct, call 911...I was the only one that did and the response was immediate with people showing up in minutes. Second instinct ask Kathy another million times if she is ok and third was to call Todd, who could not believe what I was telling him. I was just stunned, still am a bit shocked that it happened again.

The policeman was a dream, he told me not to worry, the guy that hit me is cited for the accident and responsible for paying the repairs to the car. He said "I can see you are a hot rod chick by your license plate and I know that this happened a few months ago..dont let this get you down" So that cheered me up a bit.

When we were back in the car Kathy said, "What about my Starbucks?" and that made me laugh so off we went, in my beat up hot rod, going to get her another very complicated icy cold drink! When I finally made it home Todd came out to look at the car and said "Well you got sandwiched pretty good huh?" Funny guy I married right?

The kicker? The guy driving the car that hit me? Well he didn't own the car and that was not his insurance but you have to love State Farm because (the owner of the car's insurance co) because they paid for the entire thing, a month for the rental car and all the repairs.

I have my baby back and she is good as new but I am still a bit freaked out at a traffic light, you know because things happen in threes?

We all went to dinner and had an incredible night...loads of fun and a day filled with adventure LOL!

Kathy, I cannot wait until you come back next year but I think we should hire a limo to take us shopping and out to lunch, what do you think?

I have been rear ended and it is terribly infuriating. I feel so bad for both of you. It really stinks to have your car damaged, have a rental car for weeks, and have to be inconveinced by all of the nonsense. Plus, to have it happen twice in four months. That is a bit unreal.

Bottom line - the person who is behind you is always, always, always at fault. You always need to have control of your car and not hit what is in front of you....no matter what.

The upside is I think after you have been rear ended a couple of times, you learn never to tail gate and always drive a safe distance.

So sorry that happened, but at least both of you were unharmed.

Oh, and Kathy - I get a horrible, horrible caffiene withdraw headache, too. It's the worst. When I was really sick last April and couldn't drink coffee my headache got so bad I had to have Dilaudid when I was in the hospital. How's that for a headache! :sad2:

On a lighter note - nice purchases and I hope dinner is wonderful.

And for all the curious minds following along, I order a Venti Non-fat, 1/2 decaf, wet cappucino.

I have no idea what this is.

But then again, I don't speak Starbucks. Do you ever see any guys walk in there and just say, "I dunno, just gimme a freakin' coffee." :rotfl2:

All of a sudden, my head goes forward and Nicki says to me, "did you feel that?" We had been hit from behind and the impact was so hard that we went into the car in front of us.

Dude, I hate to break it to you, but anytime you rear-end somebody, it's considered your fault. End of story. What a punk.

And, to lighten the mood, I said, "We are still going to Starbucks, aren't we?" That got a laugh out of Nicki and we started on our way.

Yes, because if you're hyperventilating and shaking, the first thing you want is more caffeine! :hyper: :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm sorry it happened, but glad everyone was ok. :thumbsup2

Well, it sounds like the day was going good until (insert the dun dun dun music) the rear end accident.

Nicki, I am just like you on the crying thing. When I get really mad, I start crying. Then I get mad at myself for crying because everybody thinks I am weak but I'm not, I'm just mad!

I'm glad to hear the both of you were okay and that Kathy got her Starbucks.;)

My gosh! Thank goodness you two were not injured. When will people learn not to text or talk on a cell when driving? I am so sorry you had to go through such an experience. Nicki, glad the car is back in good shape.

Well, the day would have been perfect if not for that darned bump!:sad2: Nevertheless, great purchases, plenty of coffee and the day spent with your BFF. :goodvibes

So happy you are both okay.:grouphug:

I order a Venti Non-fat, 1/2 decaf, wet cappucino.

Huh?? I'm so not a coffee drinker, I would have had to have you order this yourself too - I know I would've messed it up!

What a crappy way to end a perfectly wonderful day! :sad2: I'm glad no one was injured and that Nicki now has her car back good as new! A lady hit me once after she ran a red light, she also had State Farm and getting my car fixed & getting a rental was quick and painless, I'll be a customer of theirs for life now.

I'm with a PP who said you should have gotten something stronger than coffee - I'd have headed for the closest bar!

wow what an event....good thing you still made it to starbucks:thumbsup2 good thing everyone was okay

i only get the hot apple cider there.
