Well I'll be staying away from Lean Cuisine for a while, that's for sure!

Would I sue? Most likely not - I really think people are completely sue happy these days and I just don't see a need - this woman wasn't hurt in this incident.

I'd probably do what she did - report it to the news and get on with my life.

That's basically it.

I honestly don't know what I'd do but you can be certain Nestle will do what it can to avoid a lawsuit.

I have a whole freezer full of lean cuisines!! It's a good thing I don't like salmon because come lunch time, I'd be on a mouse-hunt.

While I don't think I'd sue, I'd probably be traumatized.

My thought too! If there was a picture of the meal with the plastic sealed top firmly in place then I'd believe it, but since it's open and the mouse looked like it was "posed" for the picture, nopw, not buying it.

In Newport News, Virginia last year there was a woman and her adult son who claimed to have found a dead mouse in their soup at a Cracker Barrell restaurant. There was a big deal made about it, to make a long story short, she was scamming. They are both in jail now for fraud and a bunch of other charges related to the incident. Apparently they planted the mouse in the soup. Can you imagine carrying that thing around and then waiting until your soup arrives and then putting it in the soup and stirring it around and then calling your waiter/ress over to tell them about it!!! Ewwww Gross!!!!!

I'm not sure if I believe her story or not, with all of the recent scams. But several months ago I purchased the same Salmon with Basil Lean Cuisine and ended up throwing it away because upon heating it according to their instructions, the salmon was still raw. (I thought these meals were already cooked and we put them in the microwave to thaw and heat them - not actually cook them.) I hate the idea of raw fish anyway but this had me examining my Lean Cuisines much more closely. Now I really will be!!!

The skeptic in me thinks there is a possibility of a scam here, mainly because she said that she thought there was something wrong because she smelled a foul odor when opening the package. That doesn't seem likely because there is no reason a dead mouse that was frozen in the packing process would be any less fresh than the salmon or other foods in the meal. If I took a dead mouse and froze it, it would not smell when it took it out of the freezer (at least until it thawed)...please do not ask me why I know this. Very long and sad story. So, why the odor? (maybe there is an explanation for that, I dunno)
