A Mission Space review from someone who can't ride the tea cups!

Hi, we just got back from WDW. I was really afraid to go on Mission Space because of all the warnings posted but figured I had to try it. I do not do roller coasters nor do I like to spin. My sister and I went on. I was the pilot. When the launch begins, you feel yourself feeling pulled into your seat and you really do feel like you are going into space. I ended up loving the ride. When we got off, I did not feel sick at all. My sister had a little bit of a sour stomach but after about 15 minutes, she was fine. I ended up going on 2 more times before our trip was over. My sister decided that once was enough for her.

I rode MS for the annual passholders preview and have to say the ride was extremely uncomfortable for me. Not a fun thrill type of experience that I'd want to repeat. The pressure on my neck on blastoff was extreme, okay I'm wimpy but I had a sore neck for the rest of the day. If it hadn't been for the rush of cold air blasting me in my face I think I'd have been sick. So what did I do, rode the ride again two days later with my husband just to see his reaction. Again, sore neck ache for me. Some cast members told us they intially tested the ride on employees and everyone was vomiting, not just a few BUT everyone. Is that true? Said they reduced the g force several notches. Have to say I loved the visual aspects of the ride.

ok, is it more like the tea cups (small area going around in circles) or is it more like Dumbo? I'm going in Dec. and I want to be prepared!

It really isn't like either of them. It is a really different sensation. You do not feel like you are apinning at all. If I hadn't known I was spinning, I wouldn't have believed it. It really is awesome. If in doubt, take Bonine before you ride.

acbmom - please let us know how the wrist bands work for MS. I was planning to take mine in December. I really want to try this ride.

Thanks everyone.....I think I'll take my motion sickness pills and wrist bands and give it a go. (I'm usually such a whimp!)
I'll post a review once I return early October....wish me luck, as I'd really hate to bring up one of those expensive disney meals!!
;)
