How does disney keep track of who's pics are whose? I LOVE this idea as I am an avid scrapbooker who is rarely in any picture because I am always taking the pics. can you get pics from the rides while you are on them? In both disneyland and CA? How many opportunities are there to get your pics taken? We will only be staying 3 nights (DLH) with 2 days in the parks. I'd rather have a photo CD than any other type of souvenier but I'd like to get a good amount of pics for my money....also does anyone know what megapixel camera they use? Thanks!

I have used photopass both in WDW and at DL. I loved it at DW and am so glad they brought it to DL. It is SO much easier and nicer. Basically when you get into the park you look for the photographers that say photopass which probably by now they ALL do it. When they take pictures they give you a little credit card type thing that they swipe. It keeps track of which pictures go with your number and you can use it for the length of your stay at both parks.

Like you I don't like to get a lot of pics taken if you have to look at them but with photopass now we get pics taken as often as possible. I don't know how many on a CD would be worthwhile esp if it is 100 bucks like they say. I know we usually get some 5x7's and I usually only pay about 40 or 50 bucks max. But I guess if you do the math they are about 12 bucks each so if you get more than say 9 or 10 then it might be worth the CD.

I don't believe you can get ride photos on them although I have never asked so you may want to ask. I think it would be a good idea and if they offered that more people might buy them.

I also like that you can add embellisments to the pictures as well.

I hope that answers all your questions and feel free to ask any more you may have and I will try to help.

Everytime you see a Disney photographer, get them to take your picture, fill up your photopass because then in the end if you decide to buy the CD it will be well worth it.

We recently bought the Photopass picture cd. We went every weekend for 3 wks to get the maximum value. When we ordered the picture CD it said 180 pictures but when we got it in the mail there were only 160. Unfortunately some of the missing pictures were the best ones. I still think it is a good deal and we will do it again, I'm just bummed about the missing pictures.

I've never heard of this...what is this exactly? A cd of pictures? And how much on an average and you pick what pictures you want?

I believe it costs around $125 now, and holds about 300 pictures max. If you have more than 300 pictures you can select which ones you want.

Are there a lot of photographers in the park now? I'm thinking on an average 3 to 5 day trip, can you get over 100 photos taken by them?

When we were there in Oct 2004 I bought 3 photos, I probably had my photo taken less than six times the entire time we were there.

This sounds like a great deal, as long as you can get a large number of photos taken. :)

We did not get many taken though there did seem to be a lot of photographers so it was more our fault than theirs. My 2 year old was just a ride junkie this trip and was grouchy about stopping for photos or even characters this trip. The ones we did get were at

1. The entrance plaza with the plants making up Mickey's head and the DL railroad sign in the background.

2. In front of the castle

3. In Front of It's a Small World

4. The GG Bridge in DCA enterance plaza

Each time they took 2 each. I highly reccommend the one in front of It's a small World. It really makes a nice setting even if you are not crazy about the ride ;) and also try to catch the photographers in front of the castle at sunset/ twilight. The castle looks really pretty in this light.

So how do you go about sharing these? I'm assuming that you can get more than one of the cards to swipe? I hope so, as that would also be great for when my family splits up.

You can get as many cards as you want. Each card can only be added to one photopass account though, so make sure you gather all the cards up and have one person enter them into their account.

I've heard that WDW ride photos can be included on the Photo Pass, but I have not heard yet if the DL ride photos can. That would be great!
