A message to ISIS

Just saw a report that a source of financial funding of ISIS recruitment in US is coming somewhere in the US.

You can't negotiate with religious zealots. They are on a mission from God (in this case Allah). The only way you will stop them (like it or not) is with a bullet. They are not going to stop with a pretty please.

They say they're coming, they are.

In this case it is better to fight them there instead here.

I feel like we get into this vicious cycle: they kill some people in brutal, horrible ways. We strike back by killing some of their people. This makes them feel justified in their actions ("see how terrible they are! They are killing us!") especially if in the process some innocent bystanders are killed. And more people join them. They kill more people, we kill more people, and it goes on an on.

Somewhere we have to try to find a way to stop this cycle. I don't have a magic wand or any idea about how to make it happen, but surely there must be a way. Maybe we can get some researchers to go look at the most peaceful countries in the world - countries with a low crime rate, little inter-personal violence, and who don't attack other countries - and figure out what they are doing differently. Then we could try to make that happen everywhere.

Mostly, those countries not only stay out of others' business, they don't permit anyone to mess with their business either. Iceland has one of the happiest populations on Earth. They also have one of the most homogenous countries on earth. And they keep it that way on purpose. But, it kind of flies in the face of Western ideals.

Do you have a link to the article? Seems like the government could find the owner of a bank account. I'm still not afraid of some possible internal uprising.

Yes, they're definitely worse. ISIS (along with all the other radical extremists) is a threat to the whole world. The drug cartels and gangs aren't as far reaching.

I would say the drugs they sell reach more people then ISIS could ever destroy.

Hate to say it but a Jewish journalist in Syria interviewing militants is taking a risk. He knew that going in.

Being jewish has nothing to do with it, more like being an infidel. To them if you are not muslin you are an infidel and you know what one of their battle cries is...."death to the infidels".
