So I'm making a new thread because some people want to know how my trip went. I'm not putting in any photos because I'm lazy.
After much convincing my mom, we decided on a splitstay between CR concierge and the Poly concierge. I've been dying to stay at CR and I was not disappointed. We got there on August 6 and stayed for 4 days until switching to the Poly. We checked in at 2. The concierge at both places were beautiful. I liked CR's better because I like that kind of layout. It was very friendly and comfortable. The view of MK was breathtaking but we never watched the fireworks from the balcony though.
We were in a Bay Lake view and it was awesome. You could see for miles. We had a room at the way end of the hall so we could watch Illuminations and some other fireworks across the water from some other places. Maybe Universal? Anyway, it was really nice to sit on our balcony watch a movie and see the water pageant. Our family loves the pageant so it was great to watch from our room. We could actually see the reflection of Wishes from BLT windows. I did not try any food but my brother said it was great. I loved the whole experience and we can't wait to go back!
After we were done that we headed over to the Poly! It is our "home resort" so it was like visiting an old friend! We also were checked in at 2. We did not get the room we requested but I still wanted to stay there because of the pretty view of some flowers and my favorite maid, Emina was there. We were staying standard again sorry I didn't mention it. So we switched tomorrow because mom wanted a patio. I saw no DVC construction at that time.
Wen we switched we unpacked everything and I sat on the balcony with my mom until... I was looking at this tree next to our room and its like a trinity I almost always climb a tree and then we take a picture and its our backdrop for weeks after. I was walking back and feeding the ducks when I spotted the guy on the patio next to us smoking. This was one of the times I caught them smoking as well as others. I quickly snapped a pic and showed the manager! I was very surprised at how many people I spotted smoking in non-smoking areas.
Then after another 4 day and some great times we were already to go home. We had cats to see! So we hobbled down to the lobby at 4 AM to Magical Express although it was very late and we almost missed our flight. It was cold too. Oh yeah, we were chosen to MagicBands at CR. They worked well at CR almost flawlessly although my brothers would not work at the resort. Ours didn't work at all at the Poly. They also stopped working for charging. What? Anyway, MDE cancelled the last two days of our Fastpass+. So we winged it.
Overall I recommend the bands new Fastpasses. If you are thinking about going to the Poly or CR they are both great choices and I highly suggest you try them.

. We are booked for both CR CL and Poly CL in December and I'm excited to try both. We've stayed at the Poly before (although not CL) and loved it, but the CR will be new for us and I can't wait to try it
