A MAGICAL Columbus Day Cruise Texas style 10/6/2012

I wanted to know what you all are planning before the cruise. I am debating getting a hotel where I can leave my car or just driving down the morning of the cruise. I am leaning towards the day of and parking at one of the discount parking lots for $7.50 per day. My second choice was Best Western - it seemed the best price plus they don't mind the extra car. What are you all doing?

I just booked my parking reservation. A few coworkers recommended Galveston Park N Cruise, $50 for the week. Still need a hotel for the night before.

The fish extender is soooo fun! We did a Disney cruise a few years ago and checking the FE was my kids favorite thing! They also loved running all around the ship looking for the cabins to put our FE gift. It is such a fun tradition!

I just booked to go on this cruise last week! It will be my first cruise EVER It will just be me and my MIL: a fun mother-daughter trip! Can't wait!

We live in Austin and plan to drive down to Galveston in the morning and park - I believe our last couple of cruises we parked in EZ Park or something like that, I will need to look at my records.

As for the FE I just keep buying more stuff my son says I am crazy and I tell him don't worry about it and I finally booked a room at country inn and suites for the night before, I think the kids want to go to the new pier on Friday and I think it is close to this hotel and then I just park across the street from the cruise ship and walk across

This is our first cruise.We are staying at the Hilton.They let you leave your car their while you cruise.

Hi Shera, I am glad you think I am doing a great job of keeping track of everything, sometimes I wait a day or two to see if anyone else is joining to send out a new list as I dont want to drive everyone crazy with multiply list day after day. And thanks to you for the reminders to people it helps, as sometimes I only check things out on my phone and I dont have time to get on my computer. Thanks again

I'll be on this ship with my husband, 4 year old daughter and my parents for now. I have a few friends and family that are interested so we may end being a big group,our last cruise had 15 people. This will be my husband and daughter's 1st Disney cruise, I can't wait for them to experience it. We will be celebrating my mom's b-day onboard, Oct 12. I'm so excited that it's leaving from Texas, I love not paying for airfare Has anyone taken a cruise from Galveston, is it expense to leave the car at the port.

And of course, I'm THRILLED that we're leaving from Texas too.

Yeah, can't wait for our girls to meet. Our friends & family bailed on us, the trip got too expensive when they added the airfare (they are all in NY) So just my parents are coming with us. I always seem to be the ring leader/planner on our vacations so I'm looking forward to just relaxing.

Have they looked at the rates lately? With the newest fare it is around $650 pp double occupancy and a bit less if there are more that two. It is a GTY type reservation with some restrictions, but worth a look if price was the main factor.

We are just driving in that morning, we live in near Port Arthur and it is only about 1 hour and a half to drive so my BFF was so nice to agree to drive our family to the port. Not quite sure how we are getting home yet but the most important thing is getting there lol. Maybe one of your family members or friend would be kind enought to drive your family. I plan on filling up my BFF's gas tank and buying her family breakfast for driving us.

My DD is also 2 1/2 and will be with us on this cruise!!! Are you bringing your DD to the Nursery? DD is an only child and she loves making new friends to play with!!!
