:rotfl2: We arrive Disney on Friday and depart on the 17th….. hoping the crowds are a little lighter. :thumbsup2

Have fun!
We are going at the end of the month, crowds are usually low.
The weather on the other hand! I've read it's been especially stormy and rainy this month down there. Hoping for quick storms that move through fast.

I wish we were going a little later but we couldn't. I would love to be there the end of Aug. I have been watching the extended forecast and YES IT HAS BEEN SO STORMY. UGH Hoping they are short lived storms. We are bringing the ponchos. :thumbsup2

We'll be there Saturday...and prepared for rain with our Keen and Teva sandals and a boat load of disposable ponchos!

We don't go back to school until after Labor Day, and I'm soooo looking forward to our visit at the end of the month, from a crowds perspective.

I'm dreading the weather, though.

Damn! Our schools (New Jersey) don't start back til after Labor Day. But as a kid growing up in South Carolina we always started back @ the third week of August.

TN, TX and some schools in FL started back this week. I am sure there are many others. A lot of the southern states start back in the next week or two. So hoping they have ALREADY vacationed. Of course ...THERE ARE A LOT OF OTHER states THAT DON'T start back until after Labor Day. :rolleyes1

To be honest, the crowds pretty much keep up until about the last week of August. A couple years back we were there the last two weeks of August. The first week was quite crowded, then a noticeable drop the last week. A possible reason is that the Florida schools started the last week of August. I think several years ago they started earlier, but most are later in the month now.

It'll be fine though...just be smart with your FP's and have fun!

I have always thought that our AUG. trips vs. July were less crowded. I know schools in Jacksonville FL started back today. :thumbsup2 Also most schools in AL started back this week and some next week. Some FL schools near my hometown start back next week. :thumbsup2

Yes and Atlanta and lots of its suburbs also start back this and next week.

No Texas schools started this week unless they are private. We have a state law- no public schools can start before the last Monday in August. But private schools can do whatever they want- a lot start next week and my daughter goes back 8/20.

But...both Orange and Osceola county public schools start Aug 18, the day after you leave. I agree with you that the early August crowd levels should be a little lower than July, but the noticeable crowd lowering will be later in the month.

We're also going this Friday until the 17th(though we'll be at Royal Pacific at Universal until Monday morning when we move to the BW).
I don't expect it to be slow at all, but have to admit, love seeing the school starting posts on facebook from friends in Georgia..every little bit helps. LOL

We've been to WDW the week leading up Labor Day twice and it was fantastic, crowd wise. We could still do that with schools starting after Labor Day here, but football and cheering camp for the kids put a stop to that. I'm going as late as we possibly can and will make the best of it.

I know, ugh. I read somewhere that the storms have been lasting too, like not a quick and out-of-here shower. We will be bringing the ponchos too! Although the lightning can be a problem, poncho or not! :) As long as we get to the parks early and get in a good day before the storms, I'll be happy.

The crowd levels are awesome at the end of August. But yeah, the weather, not so much. I am just telling myself that I'll be suffering through another Northeast winter soon enough, so enjoy the heat!

We went that same week last year, after going previous years during the last week of August. Crowds were much higher earlier in August. We were a little surprised at how long the lines were.

My friend is there this week and part of last, sending daily trip reports-she had 5 days in a row, not a drop of rain. I think yesterday was the first day she saw rain out of 6 days. Very unusual for August!

GA starts this week. Not SC. SC starts 19th.
However I am most excited that supposedly school has started in the country infamous for its large tour groups. :rolleyes1

One more day til we go!!
