Just found your PTR and wanted to say Hi!
DH and I are huge SW fans as well. I also grew up watching VHS recorded from TV SW movies! My first was Empire Strikes Back. (That's not exactly true - apparently my first was Return of the Jedi in the theater when I was a toddler but I have absolutely no memory of that - bummer!) We also had the two Ewok movies on recorded VHS and I remember being a little confused at first as to how those all fit together.I got it eventually.
I've also read the books but I stopped when a certain character (my fav) was killed off. My DH and I actually met because I was reading a SW book in class and he thought that was pretty cool.
So exciting that you get to be there for a week with the SWW and the 24hr party!!!!!!! <- some exclamation points for youYou are so close to leaving, jealous!
If you haven't listened to the SW Radio Dramas, I highly recommend them. Pretty awesome with some extra scenes! I'm a huge fan of radio shows as well so I get pretty excited about it.
Here's to hoping that Disney re-releases the original movies in their original form on DVD!![]()
Yay for those of us with confused early childhood SW timelines cause we watched them out of order.
Which character was that? SPOILER............................mara?
I actually stopped reading the books at that point too. I'm not sure so much that I was outraged about that, but I think at that point the SW Universe just felt so narrow.
There really weren't that many characters that we were following, and then they just started to kill them all off.
And it seemed like the only characters that did anything of galactic significance were in our little circle of 15 buddies that we knew from the books. What about bringing in some fresh characters?
My favorite books in the EU by far were all the Xwing squadron (rogue and wraith) books. Loads of new, great characters. And as much as I loved following Luke, Leia and Han around, it was nice to see that the universe really was bigger.
I never thought to listen to the radio dramas, I'll have to look into that.
Oh gosh, don't even get Brian started on Lucas editing the movies and then not allowing the originals to be released. He is hardcore into that argument. I'd like the originals released to, if only because the movie won actual awards for stuff like special effects, and now you can't even watch the original work.
That's so cool how you and your husband met! I also stopped reading the books when they killed off my favorite character. It still makes me mad!
The above statements go for you too, about which favorite character.
Talk about a good update! No back and forth that's great!!
Still trying to figure out when we will be at the same places. Are you staying at the BC for your whole trip? I somehow was thinking you were doing a split stay but went back and looked for that and couldn't find it so maybe I am thinking of someone else. We will be at POP our first two nights then moving to BC on the 24th (YES...I am not thrilled with having to change resorts the day after the 24 hour party....if my room isn't ready I might be napping at Stormalong Bay! I guess things could be worse....
). Our schedule is this:
Thursday May 22 arrival in AM-POP check in-DHS-Dinner at Chef Mickeys 8pm
Friday May 23-MK 24 hours. CP 9:50/BOG FP 1:30 (not sure we will be ready for lunch yet so it might just be cupcakes and looking around! We haven't been yet!)
Saturday May 24-Resort change to BC. Sleep! DTD?-Rest of family arrives at 5:30ish. Beaches and Cream 6:30-DHS for fireworks
Sunday May 25-AK. Tusker House 1:30(ish). Possible DTD or MK in evening.
When do you leave? Sunday? I won't list the rest of our schedule....
I need to get things organized here...we have all been sick which sucks but at least we are getting it out of the way before Disney! (Fingers crossed).
Will you be posting on twitter/Instagram? I am on both and am stacyleigh9 if you want to follow us!
We are actually in Beach Club for the first couple days to make SWW easier. So we'll be there May 15-19. Then moving to All Star Music. You should totally just conk out and nap at Storm Along Bay. Just make yourself a little sign that says 'I attended MK 24 hours'. People will understand.
We are leaving Sunday but by all means, list the rest of your schedule, I'd love to see it

We'll also be at DHS at some point on Saturday. If FP+ for the Star Wars shows comes out I'll try to grab one for Warwick Davis' show, I've heard its real good.
We are most likely going to be in AK at some point Sunday. That is our last day so we'll probably try to hit up favorites at every park.
I like how your thinking about being sick. Get it out of the way now

I am actually just starting up twitter and instagram before the trip, I will definitely add you and I'll post my usernames here once I finalize them

Waaaahoooo!!! Thats so exciting!!
Your Disney dedication of flying back and worth has been rewarded with just getting to stay the whole time! Very happy for you!
I hadn't heard that Diagon Alley might be getting some soft openings this month. That would be pretty awesome!!![]()
I hadn't even considered that prospect, it just makes the trip even more exciting! I've been to Islands of Adventure a few times in the past couple years, but haven't made it to the Universal park, and there is a ton of new stuff.
Like all the Simpsons stuff, the Despicable Me ride, Transformers, and I think a few I'm forgetting.
