A Jolly Holiday with Masseys: THE TRIP REPORT - WDW Dec2019

Loved your latest update. JP is so cute and his wee face on Allen swirling saucers is just priceless!
I love seeing all your outfits and how they tie in with whatever you’re doing each day. They definitely make me smile, I only wish I was half as resourceful:love:

We really enjoyed our Crawfish. Have you every had them?
I know I replied to this but seems that it got lost in the hack-dom... I have never had them! It's not super popular up here in the North! And being from New Jersey, we are too southern for good lobster. Crabs is the best we get here.

I feel like I have to put another disclaimer that we were VERY TIRED this day.

Our plan for the day was to try & take a break, go back to the resort & change clothes.

Then I read through all we did the day before… and I’m like, “Oh. Yeah. Makes sense.”

We did get up REALLY early so we could get the Boarding Pass.

And yes, the outfit picking is probably my favorite and most time-consuming part of each trip, and IT IS WORTH IT.

It's you special talent.

More on that, later.

Foreshadowing

Anyone that’s read her reports before should know she can’t do round and round.

Nope can't do the round and round but I really want to try this.

Line was a little more lengthy than we really anticipated.

I think the line started with a 20 minute wait but it was longer.

Here’s video of our ride

I love this! His laugh is infectious (but not like Covid).

We had agreed earlier to eat at Woody’s Lunch Box in TSL.

We really enjoyed out little breakfast here but we had to work hard for a table.

HOW CUTE IS THAT?!

Dennis, Danielle and I shared one of these too. We really enjoyed it. I think we had breakfast sandwiches too and those were good too.

I thought you had replied too. Maybe some day you'll get to try them. Do you like spicy? We very rarely get lobster so I like it. Now crabs are very popular here too. We boil them up spicy too. Dennis says they're too much work but I don't agree.

Spicy ones sound perfect! One day, maybe.

Hi Vanessa and Michelle! I know that I'm really late to this TR, but I've been reading since about the beginning, and since I've decided to start replying more, just thought that I'd say hi!

Life Update.

I just wanted to post an update on what's been happening. We celebrated Gia's 11th birthday in March. She is really growing up fast.

Danielle and I went to the movies for the first time to see Raya. I really enjoyed it and even went back last Sunday with Dennis, Michelle and John Paul.

This Spring the azaleas were outstanding. I don't remember them blooming the beautiful any time in the recent few years. I wonder if our little ice storm helped. The pink was were the most beautiful. Here are a few pictures from the main street in our neighborhood. I took them while I was doing my walk.

Of course they are no longer blooming now, but we all enjoyed them while they did.

We had a really great Good Friday celebration with family. We had not gotten together to celebrate a holiday in a very long time. Everyone was outside enjoying the beautiful day. We had crawfish, the kids ran around and played, Michelle organized activities for the kids and we finished the night with some karaoke.

Our Easter Sunday was very low key but nice.

Two weeks from today we will be in Disney! I'm starting to get real excited but also worried. Danielle's tickets finally came through but I wasn't able to get a reservation for Dennis & Danielle for DHS so the only time we will be in the park is after 2 when we park hop there. Looks like there will be no ROTR for us. It also looks like it will be pretty crowded for Covid times. I can get into DHS since there is still AP spots, in fact I have a reservation for the day we leave for me but I would have to go alone and I don't think they will appreciate it if I did. I have had to move our parks around and some dining. This will be a pretty lose and laid back trip. As of Wednesday we have all gotten both doses of Pfizer. Danielle will be fully vaccinated the Wednesday before we leave. I did not feel well at all after my second dose, but it only lasted for the day after. I'm glad that is over. Dennis did the best. Danielle had her 2nd dose on Wednesday and felt puny until this morning. Danielle is stressing as she tries to finish up her last 2 weeks of school. She has some papers due by Monday at midnight and then dead week starts. Her exams will be the week before we leave with the last one due the day before we fly out. I think she is going to try to finish up on the Thursday so she has the Friday open to pack. We fly out on Saturday and back home on Thursday night. She just found out when she will graduate yesterday. It will be Friday @ 6 pm. She is only allowed 4 guests, but at least she will get to walk across the stage.

I'm going to try to put up an update from Danielle's DCP drop off this weekend but right now I have to go cook some rice to go with the roast in the crock pot.

Enjoy your weekend!

Happy birthday to Gia! :)

Theaters are still closed here. I will wait until they de-premium it on Disney+.
WOW!!
Love this shot. :)

I'm envious... but more, I'm very happy for you guys. :)
Looks like there will be no ROTR for us.
Well... poop.
This will be a pretty lose and laid back trip.
Nothing wrong with that. In fact... may even make it better.

Good for you!
The age group finally came down to me and I get my first shot on Thursday.
Danielle had her 2nd dose on Wednesday and felt puny until this morning.
That long! That's the longest I've heard of anyone not feeling good after a shot.
at least she will get to walk across the stage.
That's really great :)

Wow your photos are gorgeous! Those azalea bushes are stunning!
Congrats on all being vaccinated :thumbsup2
I get my 2nd jab next Saturday and then my husband and eldest son get their's the 1st week of May.
Ten days later and we get to have my daughter, son-in-law and grandson in the houseparty:
CAN NOT WAIT!!! Seriously counting down the days lol
Your trip is coming up fast. Getting excited for you all.
Delighted Danielle gets to graduate even if it is a little different. Hoping she gets to work at WDW sometime soon too. Gia is so grown up now- it doesn't seem so long ago she was a wee tot in Michelle's wedding TR.
Looking forward to hearing all about your trip :goodvibes

You may want to try something - I have no idea why it worked, or if it will ever work again, but I had a similar problem and here's what I did. A little background - my youngest and I had a trip planned for May because we had some flight miles we needed to use up and I still have an AP. My middle son has had a rough year (haven't we all!) - sophomore year of college and has been totally remote, living at home, and just not having the experience a 20-year old should be having. In any case, I convinced him to join us for the trip because I think he needs something to look forward to. The only issue was that I couldn't get him into DHS - tried calling to switch my reservation there to him, but they said they can't do that. I tried several things, then just thought I'd cancel mine and see if I could grab it for him (since I'm an AP holder, there was still room for me and I knew I could get my reservation back). That didn't work, BUT when I went to put myself back in, I thought what the heck, I'll try to add him in too, AND IT WORKED!

So, it's worth a shot. If you can cancel your reservation, then try to re-add both yourself and either Danielle or Dennis or both. Again, I have no idea why this worked, or if it will work again, but worth a shot. Fingers crossed for you!
