A Jersey Family in WDW During Jersey Week

Thank you so much for taking the time to write and post your report! It was wonderful.

Wow! After reading your trip report, I feel like I was there with you. Your descriptions of your family are so real. I feel like I know them. Well, all except your wife. Was she really such a 'Stick in the Mud?'

Take me with you next time you go to Disney!

Thanks so much for posting about your trip. It was one of the most entertaining and realistic trip reports I have ever read. Three years ago when we took our little ones for the first time we thought that this was a special trip and that we wouldn't be back for years. Well we had such a wonderful time and loved watching WDW through their eyes that we now go every year.

We've cut down on Christmas and I also make a payment on our room each month (to cut down on the huge all at once payment) and we purchase APs and make our second year trip a few weeks before the APs expire to get two years for the price of one.

I'm sure your children will love reading your trip reports when they are older.

I really enjoyed your report

thanks for sharing!

Great report! Thanks for the laughs!:D

Thanks for the report. We have been to Disney since our oldest was 4, but this is our first time with a 2 year old. Nice to know that disasters can be lived through and a great vacation still had!

One bit of advice: perhaps wait to show the report to your kids AFTER they've taken their kids the first time. They'll find it more amusing then, it may just scare them into not going if they read it before!

Great report. Thanks so much for sharing it. I, too have a 2 1/2 year old daughter so I had to laugh at your descriptions. I am taking mine for the first time next October so she will be a little over 3 and hopefully past the stage she is in now.

Thanks so much for sharing...I haven't enjoyed a trip report as much as yours in a long time....I'm getting ready to leave in 5 days and it really has gotten me more excited (if that could be possible) :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks so much for sharing your trip with us! Extremely well written and entertaining report! You have a precious family! Hope you can find the time and finances to return to Disney World soon! :wizard:

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed reading about your trip! It's true, I actually felt like I was there with you and your family experiencing the parks(actually, I guess I really could have been there as a fellow New Jerseyan - - I grew up in Toms River [good ole' Jersey shore]). We're making a WDW trip with our 2 1/2 yr. old son this September (his first). Reading about your DD had me laughing out loud...I'm sure I will be able to relate and will most definitely bring sticker glue remover!!! I haven't been to WDW in about 9 years (and have never been with a child in tow). I know that for me it'll be a brand new experience all over again! I can't wait!

Thanks again for your honest humor and vivid account.

GREAT REPORT! But what were the string beans for???

I was reading Trip Reports and came across yours.I loved it!I undersatnd the feeling that you get when a child starts experiencing the rides with you-Awesome. :)

to run into many families from home!!

As the mother of 3, I feel your pain! ;)

Our DD was just 3 on her first trip. I was so excited about it, and had prepped her for the characters, etc..... What a let down :sad1: She was petrified of all the characters except Mickey Mouse. She went as far as to barricade herself under the table, cover her head and scream NOOOOOO at the Cape may cafe breakfast when she saw Goofy across the room!! :confused3

As the parent, you are torn. Do you act like a loving mother and offer comfort to this loving daughter you have been blessed with, or do you act like the crazed lunatic who has planned EVERY SINGLE DETAIL!!!!!! and tell to cut it out and suck it up???!!!!

We also experienced a week full of bodily function problems. While we did not have any bathroom accidents, we did have the vomit!! :worried: :worried:

My DD (and both DS and Myself) suffer from seasonal allergies that make us very congested a certain times of the year. She was sorta stuffed, and excitement makes her cough. Well, at Disney, there is no getting around the excitement!!

So, there was no way to get around the coughing. (No, she won't take cough medicine. this induces instant and erupting vomiting. :confused3 )
So she coughed her way around. Oh, I forgot to mention, coughing leads to vomiting. As soon as she vomits, she stops coughing, and is fine until the next bout of coughing. While most children explore their way around disney, Jordan threw up her way around disney. And you know. they can never make it to bathroom, trashcan, etc......we hit bushes, flower beds, etc....whatever was handy. I began to carry extra plastic bags around from trash can liners!!!!

Thank goodness, she is now 8 and has somewhat outgrown the uncontrolled coughing/ vomiting. (Now it's just her nerves that make her vomit!! ;) ) What can a mother do??!!

Thanks so much for your trip report. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even my DH, who hates to read, sat down and read several entries. After fininshing one, he looked at me and said "How did this person come on our vacation?"

I guess we, as parents, all recognize ourselves in other parents!! :faint:

BTW, exactly what profession do you have? I read alot of legalese, and you talked about a client, but I'm still not sure?

Just finished reading your trip report, and must say "job well done." I am envious of all those that can describe their trips in such a detailed and entertaining story. My family travel downs every Nov. (NJ teachers conference) but it is only ususally for four days. We supplement that trip with another four or five day trip as well. This year will be three trips to the World total. The frequency relieves the stress of being on a schedule and getting to do everything. Some trips it is only one day of parks and the rest character dining, hotel pools, DTD , Boardwalk etc.. This makes the trips much more relaxing and I am not as tired when I return, and also gives me more times away with the family to look forward to. As we all know, as soon as the trip is over, no matter what the lenghth, you can't wait to get back to Disney. Thanks for sharing your trip and family with us.
