A-Hoy Mateys, the Crew of the Black Pearl Heads to WDW!

From allears.net:

Calling all scoundrels, rogues and ne'er-do-wells - Captain Jack and the crew of the Black Pearl want YOU.

Starting in late June, the Pearl drops anchor in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom for The Pirate League, recruiting and training Walt Disney World guests of all ages in the scurrilous ways of buccaneers.

Each guest checking in at the plunder-filled pirate’s lair gets an official pirate name. Then it’s off to Muster Station for applications of beards and eye patches, scarves and scars, earrings and gold teeth – all done with the savvy skill of a veteran pirate who shares his own tales of sea-sailing adventures.

After the new buccaneers recite a sacred pirate oath, they are officially part of Captain Jack’s motley crew, leaving their old identities behind. Past a hidden portal and into the treasure room, the shipmates have their “pirate portrait” taken before being turned loose on an unsuspecting Adventureland – and no doubt feeling right at home at the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.

Guests can chose from three daily pirate packages:

First Mate Package: Includes bandana; choice of facial effects – scars, tattoos, fake teeth, earring and eye patch; sword and sheath; pirate coin necklace; one 5x7 inch photo and personalized pirate oath - $49.95 plus tax

Empress Package: Includes bandana; shimmering makeup – face gem, tattoos, nail polish, earring and eye patch; sword and sheath; pirate coin necklace; one 5x7 inch photo and personalized pirate oath - $49.95 plus tax

Captains Package: Includes choice of costume/outfit from selection: choice of facial effects - scars, tattoos, fake teeth, earring and eye patch; sword and sheath; pirate coin necklace; three 5x7 inch photos and personalized pirate oath - $124.95 plus tax.

Newly donned swashbucklers can test their pirate prowess on the streets of Adventureland where they search for clues and discover treasures. And for mateys who need a little more training, learn the secrets for survival by the Captain himself during “Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial.”

Boys, girls, and grownups ready for the pirate life can start the process by calling 407-WDW-CREW beginning May 11.

OK, crew, finish this sentence: I can't wait for my trip to WDW in September and the thing I'm most looking forward to is ______________.

Just pick one thing!! ;)

I can't wait for my trip to WDW in September and the thing I'm most looking forward to is Mickeys Boo to You Parade.

I can't wait for my trip to WDW in September and the thing I'm most looking forward to is .....

Lord! There is so much I'm looking forward to, I can't possibly narrow it down to just one (although I could manage one huge run-on sentence....).

I am really looking forward to the smell of warm & hopefully sunny weather!:cool1::cool1:

ow. I think my dog just broke my nose.....eek. No.. not broke, but boy, did he ever clock me!
(I bent down to pick something off the floor and he ran between my legs.... now I have a nose bleed! eek.

First to finish the sentence:
I can't wait for my trip to WDW in September and the thing I'm most looking forward to is skipping down Main Street with DD-SO MUCH FUN!

For those who didn't make it to the other thread, here is a short (short-I can't do anything short) version:

Crew on this trip:
Grumpy- DH- Dislikes Disney or maybe the bug is just a lil slow in biting him. He wasn't going to go this year, then he was, then he wasn't, then he was, then I bought his airline ticket, then he wasn't going so I took him off the ressie, now his is going once again so he is back on the ressie. Hahahaha I think the bug is nibbling

Deva DD (8)-can name every cartoon character or movies just by hearing the first few notes of the song. Cruella DeVil is her hero and she loves making Donald Duck mad.

Me-I live, breathe, and sleep Disney. I find hidden mickeys in the wierdest places (cat box, cereal, clouds)

Crew holding down the fort:
DS (16)-who thinks Disney is for kids and informed us he was going to stay home this year--ALONE---hahaha is he going to be upset when he finds out the day we leave we have a sitter coming to the house.

DS(21)-who LOVES disney as much as I do! Wants to quit his job and move back home September 14 just so he can go with us and then move backout the day we get back...I don't see that happening, his fiance' isn't a Disney fan---YET

DS(25)-married with 2 princess' and a prince. Would love to join us BUT the lil prince is only 3 weeks old. They are going to wait until he is older so he can enjoy it too.

DD(29)-Widow with 2 prince and a princess. Her Dh was killed 13 months ago and she isn't ready to take such a huge step yet. Someday we will get all 4 of them to WDW with us

DFurbaby(5)-Chester...he's identical to Lassie and definitely our baby. No kenneling him, we find him a babysitter who knows how sensitive he is. I swear he goes into depression when we leave so we have to spend weeks preparing him. Play-dates, overnighters, etc or he stops eating.

Our journey:
9/15 flying out of DTW, staying at POP, Chef Mickeys and an early night.
9/16 Horseback riding at FW, Typhoon Lagoon, Potopass session at Poly,
Spirit of Aloha, and watching Wishes at Tahati on the beach.
9/17 Cinderella Royal Table for breakfast and day at MK
9/18 Breakfast at LePeeps in Orlando and Universal for the day
9/19 Egmont Key and Shell Island to do the Dolphin thing, hunting shells,
picnic on the beach, snorkling, and swimming in the Gulf and
Illuminations at Pop Century
9/20 MK at rope drop
9/21 Hollywood Studios at rope drop and Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic dinner
9/22 Epcot-Visa Character meet and greet, kidscot, Akerhaus then over to MK
for MNSSHP
9/23 AK with Donalds Breakfast before rope drop, photopass session at GF
9/24 DTD with Hot Air Balloon ride-relaxing day or make-up day incase we
get rained out.
9/25 home-boooooooo

Attire for MNSSHP
Deva-One of the lady Ghost from the Haunted Mansion-Corletta
Grumpy-if he goes:rotfl:-goofy, he already has the hat and still now a huge
fan of WDW so getting him to wear the hat is an accomplishment.
Me- Deva still hasn't nailed it down, she keeps saying tinkerbelle and I keep
saying it's not going to happen!

OK...I have a question for everyone:
WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORIABLE MOMENT AT WDW?

I can't wait for my trip to WDW in September and the thing I'm most looking forward to is well everything. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I can't wait for my trip to WDW in September and the thing I'm most looking forward to is taking my DS4 on Soarin' for the first time!

Another one for my hearty crew:

I'm going to WDW in September and I'm most looking forward to eating (or drinking) ________________________.

OK...I have a question for everyone:
WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORIABLE MOMENT AT WDW?

My first trip to Disney was in 1978 (no comments about "I wasn't even born then!" Or I'll find you in Sep and take your Mickey Icecream Sandwich!). Christmas '77 our parents gave my twin sisters (1 yr older than me) and 14 yr old me suitcases....we were a wee bit disappointed because we thought the packages were a new stereo system (2 big speakers and a larger parcel for the turntable/tuner/etc)! But then they told us why we were getting the suitcases! Florida at Easter! Woo Hoo! I knew it meant sunshine, beaches, oranges, and a Disney theme carnival.
We were amazed at Disney and the consistant theming- never expected the magnitude. Our favourite rides included IASM and POTC, and the now defunct 20,000 Leagues.
It's 31 years later and I have a clear memory of having to go down a narrow set of sets, sitting in long rows on little round seats that folded down, and watching thru the porthole! It was early evening, and so magical to us, even tho' we were aware the water wasn't deep and the sub was moving on a track. I can still visualize being outside the ride looking over to the lagoon and seeing the tops of the Subs moving about!

Absolutely everything! Because as long as you keep walking, there's no calories in Disney! :rotfl:
I'm looking forward to the Mickey Icecream Sandwiches--because they mean I'm really in Disney!:)

My most memorable moment at WDW was my boys' first time meeting characters last September. The best one was Reese, who was 11 months old at the time, meeting Piglet. He looked at Piglet like he was seeing him for the first time in a long time. It wasn't a look of surprise, it was more like a reunion! They just stared at each other and Reese smiled, with their noses only a couple of inches away from each other for the longest time. I wish I had gotten more pictures, but it was hard to take photos through my teary eyes!!

As for the other question, I'm going to WDW in September and the thing I'm most looking forward to eating or drinking is the juice at Donald's Safari Breakfast. I swear that stuff is liquid crack!! I don't even want to know how much sugar is in it, but man, was that stuff goooooood! I drank about a gallon of it when we were ther last year and have been buying every strange juice combination I can find, hoping to be able to have it at home. (Actually, I'm probably better off if I don't find it!!)

I am most looking forward to taking my son Aiden. He is a bit special and I hope he likes WDW as much as me.

I am most looking forward to eating at California Grill and drinking Sangria at Hoop!

I am a few dollars closer to WDW...just made a large payment towards the trip.

I've been doing that too, making payments on the trip! I know it's smarter to just leave $$ in my bank acct to accrue at least a little interest, but "I-want-to-be-there-now" part of me finds it more fulfilling to know that I'll have that much less to pay when I get there!

Avast! Where are ye weasley scroundrels? pirate:

I just purchased my MYW tickets from Undercover Tourist via Mousesavers.com's web link.... $289 taxes in for 10days w/ park hopper (have water park days left from last pass).
I figure the price may or may not go up by Sep, and if something happens (ie they get so cheap) that I don't use these this trip, I'll have them for the future.
That's 1 more expense dealt with! :woohoo:

I love the look of our tickers!

Wahooooo.....we are under 4 months and Come June 17, I', on the phone at 6:30am for those almighty ADR's. Since they changed it to 90 days out, I've been hearing horror stories about getting them. Crossing my fingers for the both of us!

Isn't great how having the tickets in your hand makes it seem so much closer to reality? I LOVE getting that package in the mail! I've got tickets budgeted for July, counting on the ticket increase in August like the past few years. Hope I'm right!

The worst (and probably only bad thing) about going in September is that I end up wishing my summer away - and trust me in Minnesota, we need to savor every single warm day we can get!!

I'm excited and nervous about the ADRs too. We're not booking a ton of them, but I do want a few of the biggies, so like you, I'll be on the phone before the lines open up on my day (which I think is June 22 if I remember correctly - don't worry I have it on every calendar I have!).

I hope everyone's planning is going well! Happy Memorial Day!!

Time for a new fun question!

If you could step into any Disney movie, which one would it be and which character would you play? :wizard:
