A Halloween Adventure in Autism (11/7) Prayer Request for Catie (p.129)

That's absolutely precious about Ed and Eddie wanting the Christmas trip, Kathy! :goodvibes

You are so sweet to change your plans to make them happy. ;):rotfl:

I had no idea that Eddie wanted to go that much... and that his father wanted him to come along! Eddie seemed sort of nonchalant about the trip when we talked on the phone.

Ed had to remind me that twenty year-old boys don't "gush" over WDW the way I do! :lmao: Then he did his "Kathy gushing over WDW" imitation.

Very funny.

Here is Ed on his way to the couch...

Oooh, I'd love to make some nice warm banana bread right now! :goodvibes

Ummm, You're Welcome?!

I will explain all in the next installment!

I think mornings with Billy sounds like a good idea. Abby and I spent the afternoon at Animal Kingdom and we had a great time together! Spending some time with just one of the kids is fun!

The more I think about it, the more it makes sense!

:goodvibes This was a highlight for me on our last trip.... just Ariana and I at CRT together. Great solution!

I would like a little one-on-one time with my Billy. We are the real WDW fans in our house!

Last night when I was tucking him in and wishing him "Sweet Dreams," I asked him what a sweet dream would be. He answered, "Go to Walt Disney World!" :lovestruc

I am excited about all the Holiday fun! I will be reading your next TR very carefully for tips!

Oh goodness me... now I'm crying. Yes Billy, that is the sweetest dream of all! :cloud9:

I love that it was a big deal to Eddie. Didn't you try to get him on the last couple trips with not much luck or excitement? The whole college conflict? Definitely worth scheduling around!

Aww Billy, that's my favorite dream too!

How great you get to move it back to the time frame you were so excited about! :cool1: Don't let them bug you about your gushing dances. If my man crew got excited about anything, I might get a, "hmmm... that sounds nice." out of them. So much for being all communicative in your enthusiasm. :guilty: AH well, someone's gotta make up for it.

Woo-Hoo!!! :woohoo::woohoo: Christmas at WDW is back ON!!

It looks like you had a pretty good Safari ride considering. I love the elephant action shot! And we never get a good pic of that lion!

Yes, I will have to plan/prepare more intensely for this trip so Billy doesn't get over-stimulated. He adores his big brother, though, so that will be a wonderful trade-off.

Of all things to consider, it's the early early rope drops that concern me the most... I'm all for them, but we will have two teenagers and one or two college kids this time and you know how they love to stay up late and sleep in! :rolleyes1

I may have to do a few early mom-and-son trips to MK before everyone else wakes up!

Kathy

When I went between Christmas and New Years I was really concerned about crowds and when I learned RD was at 7am I really got stressed.
Traveling with 2 girlfriends and both of them are first timers, how could I explain- " get up early and go to rope drop" without sounding like a nut. :rotfl2:

We got to the parks about 9 ish and were able to avoid the worst.
MK was the most crowded so I did it as early as we could and then left and came back and closed it at midnight. Fantasyland empty from 11-12. Parks were open until 3 am and even though I tried we just could not do it.
With 4 full days , EMH at EPCOT 9-12pm on arrival day and DHS and AK 9-1 on the day we left we got in more than I expected. Did we do everything? No but I seriously think we could have. We got some resorts in too.

I really think think this was no worse than Easter Week. In fact I think it was better, crowd wise.
I think once we encountered no FP when we wanted one.

Aww!! First of all -- too cute that the "Ed"s were reading the TR together! I love that they made you change it back. My dad is always very nonchalant about things like that too. So hard to read between the lines! And even if it is crowded and stimulating -- you can say you've experienced it and never do it again. ;) And you'll have those wonderful family memories!

And I'd totally love to see what my fami;y's impression would be of me gushing over Disney!

... our Christmas Vacation coundown ticker! :santa:

Seems that Ed and Eddie were reading my report together while they were talking on the phone last night (say what?) and they both noticed that the ticker was, quote, "wrong!" Ed told Eddie that it was probably nothing... that knowing me, I would probably change things around a dozen times or so until I was happy (also a quote.)

Apparently Eddie is more excited about going to WDW and staying in a treehouse than he let on and was disappointed at the thought of not going with the family. Then Ed said that Billy and Tricia would be disappointed, too... :(

Okay, boys, go ahead.

Twist my arm.

I'll move our vacation up two months... just for you. :rolleyes1

Kathy

See, they love Disney more than they are letting on!;):rotfl:

Glad you got the Christmas Ticker and honestly if you follow the Best Days from UG you AND Billy (most importantly) should be fine:thumbsup2

So are you getting tons of snow? Snow Days for the kids? It's so cold and windy here and we had some flurries, I can only imagine how cold it must be up there.:cold:

So fun... moving up a trip. Glad to hear that things are working out!

Oh goodness me... now I'm crying. Yes Billy, that is the sweetest dream of all! :cloud9:

He truly loves going to WDW... I'm not sure how he will react to us skipping a year. He really looks forward to it!

Oooh - the excitement!

Yes, I am excited about Chrismastime... it's tempered with a few concerns, of course, but it is such a magical time to be at WDW!

I love that it was a big deal to Eddie. Didn't you try to get him on the last couple trips with not much luck or excitement? The whole college conflict? Definitely worth scheduling around!

Yes, he goes to UNC, so his school breaks are different from Billy and Tricia's.... with the exception of the Christmas holidays. And now he works in the summer, so we don't see him at all.

In 2007 he joined us for three days during Jersey Week, but he was still in High School then. (That reminds me... I think I still have some non-expiring park pass days from that trip!)

Mars and Venus.... ;)

:santa:Congrats on Moving your trip back to Christmas! :santa:

Thanks, I am excited (even though I was trying to make myself feel better about Presidents' Week.)

Woo hoo!!! :cool1:  :woohoo: :yay:

Denise

Thanks for the cheers!

When you're the King, I suppose you don't have to pose! :rotfl:

Thanks, that's really encouraging! :thumbsup2 I definitely plan to utilize the extended park hours.

I don't think there will be any Oscars won around here... but Ed's impression of me did make everyone laugh!

Ed wanted to show Eddie the picture of Billy and me at Animal Kingdom, so that's how they both happened to be on the DIS at the same time!

Kathy

I agree! UG and TGM are great resources!
I'm pretty good about not wanting to do the parks "commando style" anymore... I think we may go back to what we did when the kids were younger: Early morning at the park, back to the resort to rest, then back out for some evening fun. Having the extended hours will really help with this plan! :thumbsup2

Yes... schools actually announced last night that they would be closing today. The doctor I work for also decided yesterday that we would close today. We storms missed us last weekend, but we're getting it now!

The weatherman has predicted a "snowacaine" for this afternoon because of the high winds and white-out conditions.

:goodvibes That is too precious!

:flower3:

So fun... moving up a trip. Glad to hear that things are working out!

Thanks... especially now that we are back to just under two years again! :woohoo:

That's what we do with Jimmy. We mostly go in the AM have dinner somewhere (we tend to eat early) and then head back to the hotel for a swim or to relax in the room for the evening. We usually only do one late night to see Spectro Magic.
