A Halloween Adventure in Autism (11/7) Prayer Request for Catie (p.129)

One year we took my MIL and after seeing my (then) five year old ride multiple times, she decided she would conquer Everest. Well as soon as she came off she thought she was going to be sick. The first thing she said was "Is there a bush I can throw up in?" I was just imagining the posts on the DIS if she had done that?!?! She tried to rally but ended up having to go back to the room to lie down :( So tell Ed to go with his instincts!!!

Enjoyed the pictures...beautiful!

Aww, poor thing! Feeling sick at Disney is doubly awful!

I rode Everest for the first time this last trip and I LOVED it! SIL did get dizzy though because of the backwards part - so Ed is probably wise to avoid it unfortunately. Doug doesn't do coasters anymore either - so I hope Maddie will be my ride buddy!

It is nice to have someone to grab onto! :lmao:

I love that you had a day to explore AK without anything scheduled. We have a day similar to this scheduled for April. Tim & I have a date night that night, but that is our only plan for the day other than AK. :thumbsup2 Since AK is a half-day park, we usually have plans to hop somewhere else for the afternoon/evening. It'll be nice to get there when we feel like it, eat where we want & leave when we're ready.

:thumbsup2
Sounds like a great plan!

Billy looks so old in this picture!

I know! He's turning twelve in April!

Kathy

How much snow have you gotten?

 We were prepared for half a foot and we only got half an inch!

My parents live a bit further south at the Jersey Shore and they got about a foot so far... and it's still snowing on them!

Kathy

1) The picture of Billy on EE is wonderful! There is such utter joy on his face. :)

2) A trip for us is definately in the works for August...there's a HUGE travel fair during February vacation in Boston (only 45 minutes away from us)...crossing my fingers!

3) Oh no! Not another bird moment! Good thing Aunt Rae isn't there (DIRTY BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRD!!!!!!).

That's the good kind of surprise to get though - not the other way around!

What a nice day! I'm not an EE lover so I would have to agree with Ed on that one. But it does seem so calm to have a casual day like that. I need to remember that and not schedule us ADRs twice a day, every day! :lmao:

That tiger is absolutely gorgeous, and I'd be the one wanting to pet her too. In my head I know they're dangerous wild creatures, but in my heart they're cuddly wuddly kitties, y'know?

Love your Kidani pictures Kathy!!! Ahhh, home! I'd love to be sitting there right now!

I remember how warm and sticky the day after halloween was! That was the day we went to DTD!

We've still never been on EE! Boo!! We will next trip!

All of your AK pictures are so pretty! I love all the details in AK!

Luckily, it was not exactly the same kind of bird moment! ;)

That's fantastic news about August!!

The viewing area in that one section really allowed us to get up close and personal! I was so happy that we didn't have to rush everyone along! The kids could've spent hours here!

Thank you... my photography seems to be hit or miss, though! It felt less humid that day, but of course we were wearing shorts and tee shirts, not Halloween costumes! ;)

EE is Billy's favorite thing at AK... I think you'd love it! It's not scary at all!

Kathy

what a fun AK day. How awesome to leisurely get ready and know that the bus will have you there pronto. I really hope someday to get to explore the jungle trek like that... we just never make it.

It's hard with little ones... everything you do takes so much longer. :grouphug:

Kathy

Thanks!

Hey, I hope you're planning to write a report about your trip that you're taking in three days!!
I want to hear all about BLT!

Kathy

I probably won't be writing a whole trip report, but I'm going to be sure to post BLT pictures and write a review for it on the DVC boards:goodvibes

I think our best AK day was one we arrived late and stayed for an evening EMH. The park is SO different in the dark, so pretty!

I have to agree with others, it is probably wise for Ed to sit out EE. It messes me up too, luckily Daniel is not a fan so we sit it out together.

That pic of Billy on EE does make him look so much older, isn't it amazing how fast they mature! My oldest is going to be 13 on Valentine's Day - yikes!

If you can remember, kindly send me a pm when you do... I don't stray from the TR boards that often and I wouldn't want to miss it!

Great AK pics. Thanks for the bird warning :scared1:

:rotfl:

For my next post, "Viewer discretion advised!" (We're visiting FOW!)

You have my sympathy... I just attended a parent orientation for High School (Tricia, Class of 2014)!!!

Hi Kathy, looks like you guys had a great day. My girls loved EE too. I think it was there favorite ride of the whole trip. The Maharaja Jungle Trek looks so cool now I'm bummed we diden't check it out.

Ah, a lovely start to your day! Relaxing at Kidani and heading to the Animal Kingdom! That is an awesome picture of the tiger up close, and I got a giggle out of Billy calling Everest, the Snow Monster ride. It makes me think of the Scooby Doo episode with the Abominable Snowman for some reason. :lmao:

:scared1: is right!

Seriously, how did I...er...she get so old all of a sudden? ;)

It's so hard to fit everything in... I think that it took us three trips to WDW before I could say that we did both of the trails at AK. We didn't even visit Conservation Station until Trip Number Six!

Have a magical time!!
